#August18K #August80K Indie Challenge

Only Two Day of #CampNaNoWriMo left my lovelies! I won but for those still pushing -  You can do it!!! Don't forget that on Friday July 31, 2020, they are having an ALL DAY VWI - Virtual Write-In, on the NaNoWriMo Youtube Channel. There will be chats, sprints, and fun to push to the end.    >>>link>>> youtube.com/c/Nanowrimo

Starting on August 1 will be the #August18K and #August80K Indie Writer / Editor Challenge. You pick writing new or editing existing word count.  You can chose to write or edit either number.  It is a simpler writing challenge like Camp NaNo and you can use the NaNo website project tracker for it.

If you chose the #August18K, you will have a daily word count to write or edit of 581 words. Very doable... and a single 1K day a week gives you a day off.

If you chose the #August80K... Well, it's a little bit high number, like five times higher... 2,581 words a day either written or edited... It's crazy like the #30K10 (thirty thousand words in ten days) which I still haven't defeated or the #30K15 (which I have won).

I am going to try the #August80K because *cues music*
I like Big Counts and I cannot lie
All those words coming on the fly

When the story starts in an itty bitty place
Then blows up all over the place

it gets fun
when the words just come...

no... wait... I'm not done... *dragged off imaginary stage*

*coughs* Erhem... sorry, my inner rapper escaped for a moment... where was I?

Oh yes...

You can also EDIT to get your word count, every word read, changed, added, or cut counts... so keep track of those deleted words, paragraphs scenes because you deserve credit for all the words. All The Words!  #nowordsleftbehind.  So if last year's NaNo still staring at you from the Edit Me Pile, do it! If you finished during April or July Camp then grab those colored mark up pens and give it a go. Pull your inner editor out of the closet, peel off the duct tape and let them run amok. #LoveYourInnerEditor

August ends and then starts the time to reset the creative gears. Take a break. Relax... Or jump back into the next project.

Do you choose #Preptember and #Preptober (September October prep time) before November's Nation Novel Writing Month 50K.  Time to polish up an idea, world build, character profile, plot those points and outline that projects. Build a pinterest page, create an aesthetic, and cue up that playlist. Find a candle that smells of your character's favorite place or cologne. Make a writing menu. Do something you would never do, go somewhere you would never go, but that your character would, either IRL or Virtually (google earth street view is great for virtual travel).

Pick one and poise your pen or pick them all... But most important, love what you create.
Have fun, write more, #NoWordLeftBehindBe Blessed, Be Better, Mama
