"I'm so sorry I don't even know what to say. I just hate that sulk look on your face and knowing that it's my fault."
11:00 - 11:20
The women in her group laughed as Penny talked about why and how she had beaten her sister's drunk ex after learn the truth of their 'perfect marriage'. Angela hadn't been able to keep her from doing six weeks for simple assault. She had beaten Shane too badly and her martial arts training was going to be used against her but she had lucked out with an overburdened ADA.
Marjory shook her head. "Now, ladies, you all know violence isn't the answer but in this case, I can see where Penelope thought is was justified."
Betty disagreed, "Heck yeah, it was. Penny-boo, can you take some papers to my ex-husband?"
They all laughed as Marjory shook her fingers at them. Penny held up her hands. "I learned my lesson."
"And what lesson is that, Penelope?" Marjory asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Chica learned not to hit him so many times," Herlinda giggled and it was a few minutes of amusement before Penny could answer.
"I learned I should make sure he's to scared to turn me in next time." Penny admitted, then she corrected herself at Marjory's stern look. "No... No, I'm kidding. I shouldn't have defended my sister in such a physical manner and I wrote a letter to Shane."
"That's a start... Can we hear it?" Marjory nodded in approval.
Penny pulled out a notecard and read in a sickly sweet sing-song.
"Dear Shane,
I'm so sorry I don't even know what to say.
I just hate that sulk look on your face and knowing that it's my fault.
I am so sorry I broke your nose, but it does add character to your boringly perfect face.
I'm so sorry I broke your ribs, I know how you love to share your hot air constantly.
I'm so sorry I broke your arm, I hope you found someone to wank you off while you were in jail.
Actually, I take it all back. I know exactly what to say.
I'm not sorry for your sulk face.
I'm not sorry for your broken bones.
And it isn't my fault, it's yours for screwing around on my sister on your anniversary.
Unrepentantly yours, Penelope."

Her group laughed and the therapist shook her finger as Penny smirked. Then Penny added, "Don't worry, Marjory, I learned my lesson. I'll steer clear of him. I need to focus on Prue, she will need several surgeries after her baby is born to fix her back. I am going to be an aunt and I need to focus on that."
"Well, that is good to hear. We all can sympathize with wanting to take out our frustration on an abusive ex but violence isn't the answer." Marjory repeated. "Well, ladies, say goodbye to Penny, she is leaving us today. And...
"We hope to never see you in here again." They all said together.
Betty helped Penny strip her bed and pack her few things. "Take care of your sister and look up my brother when you get out. He'll help you get on with the gym his club owns."
"Do you really think they'll hire me?" Penny asked.
"Oh babe, they need female instructors and with your MMA and kickboxing skills, you're already hired." Betty hugged her as a guard came to the door.
Penny stripped and showered under supervision. She dressed in her civilian clothes, and met with her parole officer, where she was given the TRO for Shane. Angela was waiting and hugged Penny tightly.
"Hey, you."
"You are so lucky you got out so quick. The D.A. was pissed your ADA pled you out. She wanted you to get 5-15 years. I think she has a thing for Shane." Angela sneered.
"They went to Boston U together." Penny revealed, "She dated his brother."
"The drunk?" Angela tipped her head.
"Yep."
Penny rode behind Angela to get her KLR 650 out of storage. As she watched the city flash by she knew she was lucky to be out of jail so quickly. She was obviously guilty, her martial training and competitions had counted against her. Her only respite was that Shane admitted to not only hitting Penny during the fight, but to having shoved and slapped her sister, Prudence, during their marriage when he had gotten drunk.
After the divorce was finalized and during the criminal investigations, he had found out about Prue's accident. Prue had testified via video from her rehab hospital bed that her condition and admission of being abused had lead to her sister having a mild mental breakdown and that she never should have asked Penny to deliver the divorce papers.
Shane had gotten two weeks in jail for allegedly attacking Penelope first, which he served with a broken arm and nose. Penelope had not only gotten the satisfaction of beating him, but also for outing him as a violent, abusive drunk who mistreated his wife. His blood alcohol level was just under the legal limit when the ambulance had taken him to the hospital. It had played well for her plea bargain. Looking at the sky, she knew her freedom maybe limited. She still had to make sure Shane never had contact with her niece and that meant delivering one more set of legal papers.
