Note: I'll be using Pokémon for these examples.

As always this rant may trigger some people so if you have a problem with that please leave.

So what some people don't seem to understand is that there is a very fine line between giving an opinion and being mean. It is possible to give an opinion without calling people out and being a jerk.

With a character
Opinion: "I don't like Serena. She's a character that lacks character development and depth."
(No that's not really how I feel by the way.)

Being mean: "I don't like Serena. She sucks as a character and Ash deserves better. If you like Serena then you're a horrible person and I'll never follow you."

With a ship
Opinion: "I like amourshipping out of all the Ash x Poke Girl ships."

Being mean: "I like amourshipping out of all the Ash x Poke Girl ships. Anyone that hates this ship isn't a real fan of Pokémon and can't see what the writers are putting in front of their faces."

Yes I was being a bit extreme and silly but you see what I mean? Not everyone is like this but there are a few I know that have hurt me or my friends. If you wanna give your opinion that's fine just don't be a jerk about it and don't hate on people who have a different opinion then you. Chances are you can have a nice civil conversation with them if you decide to hear them out. Also don't post an opinion of someone that you intend to hurt the feelings of. That's just cruel and you know it. I know not everyone is gonna be nice twenty four seven but wouldn't it be nice to think about what you're gonna put down before you do it? We all use this website you guys. All I'm saying is let's try and be nicer ok?
