Chapter Twelve: The Idea.
I felt my heart begin to pound against my chest. The sirens yelled in my ears, rattling my ear drums. I looked at Lust with eyes full of fear. His mouth shaped words but I couldn't hear then over the sound of the alarm.
"Huh?" I yelled.
He rolled his eyes and grabbed my arm. We began to run out of the vault and back into the office. Lust shoved the young man out of his way as we ran out of his workroom. We could hear the sound of footsteps slamming onto the floor as we raced across the hallways.
I felt Lust's hand on my arm turning hot as I looked at him. He was glowing dark blue, the colour of lust. He was using his charm powers again. Whoever noticed us running, holding the money, immediately forgot we existed.
Lust was burning blue by now and his steps slowed down, but we kept pushing until we reached out of the bank. Everyone was trying to find the reason the alarms were triggered, but no one seemed to know it was us.
Sitting in the taxi, catching up on my breath, I laughed. A breathy laugh.
"I'm a criminal," I laughed.
"Check that off your bucket list," Lust teased. I looked over at him, but his eyes were half shut. He fell on my shoulder, unconscious.
"Hey, hey Lust! You okay?" I questioned. Panic rising in me.
"T-tired," he yawned, "using power makes tire-" he began to snore.
I looked at the sleeping man on my shoulder and I physically awed. He looked so adorable. His lips were puckered out in a pout while he slept. My heart began to pound as I watched him sleeping. He began to mumble things in his language as he slept soundly. I tried not to move at all so I don't wake him up. This was going to be a long ride.

We entered the RV again and Lust slammed the money on the table. Joshua was on his laptop, talking to his parents. Lust walked over to him and slowly closed the laptop, looking deep into his eyes.
I cold see the nervousness on Joshua's face as Lust huskily said, "sorry to interrupt you, pretty boy, but we need to leave as soon as possible."
I saw Joshua's adam's apple bob up and down as he nodded. He immediately began listing out some timings for the flights available for New York today.
"Oh, there is on at 7:30pm. If we leave within the next hour, we can catch it!" Joshua informed.
"Great, let's leave!" Greed yelled.
And we did leave. Everyone got their things together and we drove to the airport. Joshua knows a guy who lives here so we told him to keep the RV with him.
Our drive to the airport was filled with awkward silence. Everyone had so much on their minds that we forgot about each others presence. My mind kept going back to the events of the past week. Literally two weeks ago, if someone told me that I would be travelling across the country with the seven deadly sins, in search for an evil coffee mug, I would have called the mental asylum.
So many things came flooding to my mind. What if we don't find the chalice? Who was that woman? I remembered the dream I had couple of days back and I shivered.
We reached the airport and boarded our flight, with some difficulty. Joshua and I had passports to travel with but the Sins didn't. Lust suggested that he'd charm them but Greed seemed to be the better candidate. His eyes turned yellow while staring at the man at the counter.
"You are going to let us pass and get on the flight in exchange for this," he slid some money over to the man who immediately took it and typed something on his computer.
"Enjoy your flight," he replied.
Nobody told me that the sins have never flew before so every time there was the slightest bit of turbulence, everyone jolted up and began to panic, except Sloth, he remained asleep. Honestly, Sloth is my favourite.
I managed to watch a whole movie and read about half of my book through the six hour flight from San Francisco to New York. We took a cab back to my place. It felt good to be back home. We went back to my place. We sat on the couch and began discussing our plan. We figured out we have exactly three days left until the full moon. We, initially, were going to rest but after we calculated that we have three days left, we began to panic.
"Alright we need to list down possible places we could find the chalice," Lust informed.
"Joshua and I met at elementary school. I met you guys here. There is an antique shop that Joshua and I worked in during the summer break." I listed out.
"Lover's lane exists also!" Joshua added.
"What's Lover's lane?" Envy asked.
"It's a street that they made a year ago, with lots of hearts, chocolate, flowers and all that lover junk," he answered. I winced at the word junk because Joshua knew I loved all those things and I've always wanted to go to Lover's Lane with my lover, all girls do, yet he called it junk.
"That could be the answer to 'lovers first glance'," Greed suggested.
I yawned, "let's go." My eyes burned and watered. I haven't slept in so long, all I wanted to do was close my eyes and never get up.
"Maia, are you sleepy?" Wrath asked.
"Kind of, but we have to find the chalice," I lied.
Everyone looked at Sloth, who was slumped on the couch. The remained true to his role. He groaned and got up.
"I'll remove the sleep from you, temporarily. Just try not to move," he instructed.
He placed his fingers on my temples and shut his eyes.
"Surgere," he muttered.
I felt heat seep into my head as my brain felt like it was being toyed with. I shut my eyes, trying to calm myself. I felt a few tugs at my soul as my gut wreched. I could literally feel the sleep being pulled out of me as my temples began to burn. I felt my brain turn into mush and then turn back to normal. Sloth removed his fingers from my temples and took a few deep breathes. His fingers glowed light blue and so did his eyes, but they slowly faded once he calmed himself down.
"How do you feel?" He asked.
I didn't know how I felt. I felt like someone took out my brain and put it back the wrong way, "I don't feel sleepy, I can tell you that."

We made our way to the elementary school Joshua and I attended. Going back to River East Elementary school after all these years brought back some memories and made me nostalgic. Nothing was the same, everything had changed and I couldn't even recognise the place. The walls were painted beige and the whole school must have been painted, tiled and cleaned up.
We decided to have a talk with the principle asking if we could stay after school and look for the chalice and Lust told us that even if he said no, we could charm him. He obviously said no, surprise surprise. Once again, Lust charmed him into letting us search the place.
I started to feel normal once again and we began our search. Every classroom, canteen and store. Nothing. Not even one thing gave us a clue. Everything looked normal. Nothing felt like an evil coffee mug. Kind of discouraged, we thanked the principle and made our way out.
"Let's check the antique store and Lover's lane," I suggested, trying to lighten up the mood.

Author's note:
Why is my brain not working anymore? I can't think of things. School is getting annoying now. It's been a week since school started so that's why my brain can't process things anymore. Anyways, in the next chapter or the one after, something is gonna happen... *evil laugh*
I probably will explain the prophecy soon but still some aspects of it won't be clear to the sins and Maia.
I feel like Sloth is a whole mood most of the time! By the way, all the sins have powers:
• Lust can charm people and uncharm them.
• Wrath has fire powers.
• Sloth can wake people up and put them to sleep. (It's worse than you think)
You'll figure out the rest!
Surgere means wake.
