彡CHAPTER THREE
❛ can't remember to forget you ❜
( episode three, season one )

Things have been a lot stranger - especially for Ellie - since Wanda got pregnant. It seemed as though Vision and Wanda didn't even stop to question the odd situation, like they were ignoring everything.

Ellie however, couldn't ignore it.

But here she was, slouching at the far end of the now colored couch, mindlessly looking in a magazine while Wanda was being examined by a doctor.

The doctor hummed, a small frown pulling at his face, making both Wanda and Ellie give him raised eyebrows, while Vision just frowned.

The doctor hummed again before straightening up with a cheerful smile. "Yep! Definitely pregnant!"

Wanda chuckled and nudged Ellie when she looked at the doctor with an expression that said 'no shit.' "Well, that much we figured."

"It's just kinda taken us by suprise." Vision tried to explain.

"That's an understatement." Ellie muttered as she flipped a page in her magazine and propped her feet next to Wanda.

Vision, having not heard what she said, continued. "It's just kinda suddenly. I mean, practically overnight. I mean... how did this happen?"

"You see-" the doctor started and Ellie already sighed in aggravation at his tone. "-when a man and a woman love eachother very much..."

"Stop." Ellie whispered to herself, embarrassment creeping up on her. Her fingers tickled, almost as if being electrocuted and the doctor stopped talking almost immediately, suprising the small family.

"Uh...well-" Wanda started, glancing at Ellie with an unsure expression. She then smiled as she looked at the doctor. "We're just tickled pink, or blue."

Wanda stood up, Vision at her side. Ellie didn't bother to get up as she brought her hands in her lap and peered at them, unnerved. She knew she had powers, she could form invisible shields whenever she wanted. So how was it that with a single thought, with a single whisper, she was able to stop the doctor from talking? Maybe she was overthinking, maybe it was just Wanda.

Of course it was Wanda, it had to be her.

Being lost in thought, Ellie didn't even notice the doctor heading towards the door only when Wanda gently touched her shoulder. She have Ellie a concerned look but when she only got a smile in return, she went back towards the doctor and Vision.

"Hypothetically speaking, every new father-to-be gets nervous." the doctor assured Vision. When he saw Vision glance at Ellie, he added. "Your adopted daughter doesn't count, you didn't raise her." the doctor laughed.

Ellie frowned, thinking about her past. She didn't remember it, she never does. Not even a single bit.

"Ellie is our daughter." Vision said in a stern voice while looking at the doctor. "And I'll have you know that I have nerves of steel, Mr Doctor."

"Vision, why don't you see the doctor out?" Wanda interrupted. Vision nodded as he started babbling incoherently to the doctor.

Wanda sat down next to Ellie as she took her hands in her own. "What's bothering you, Els?"

Ellie was quiet for a moment, thinking. "Who are my parents, Wanda? I- I don't remember anything before you adopted me and I'm pretty sure we're the same age. And you just got pregnant overnight, you're like four months in! Something isn't right here Wanda!" Ellie sat there, catching her breath as Wanda tilted her head.

"Everything is perfect Ellie. Don't dwell on the past, sweetheart. We are a happy family, and you are going to be a big sister. That's all that matters." Wanda reassured her in a gentle voice.

"You're not answering my questions, Wanda!" Ellie snapped as tears shone in her eyes. "You know something and you're not telling me!"

Wanda put a hand on Ellie's head as she stroked her hair. "Ellie dear, I could never keep secrets from you, you know that. I love you, little star." Red tendrils came out of Wanda's hand, going straight into Ellie's head. But nothing happened.

"What are you doing?" Ellie demanded as Wanda stood there, dumbfounded.

"Is something wrong?" Vision asked as he entered the house, unaware of the tension between the two women.

Wanda cleared her throat as she pulled away from Ellie before she looked at Vision with a smile. "Everything's fine dear, Ellie and I were just having the big sister talk."

Ellie clenched her jaw as Vision laughed joyfully. "Oh Ellie, you're going to be a great big sister!"

"Right." Ellie mutters bitterly to herself as she stands up and brushes her knee lenght dress. "I guess you won't mind if I go hang out with Reggie, right?"

"I do mind, you need to be careful about him El-" Wanda started as she stood up.

Ellie gave a humorless chuckle. "What's up with you and Agnes saying the same things?"

Wanda frowned, confused. "Agnes? What's Agnes got to do with this?"

"I don't know, you tell me." Ellie folded her arms and raised a challenging eyebrow.

"Ah, nonsense!" Vision interruption the two. He looked towards Ellie with a smile. "Go have fun! Your mother and I will be decorating the baby room!"

Ellie grimaced at the word 'mother' but nodded with a small smile anyway. "Thanks Vis, I'll see you guys later." she spared Wanda a glanced just right before she left and closed the door.

Time to find the only other teenager in town.

Ellie hit a pebble as she looked towards the ground, slightly put out that she couldn't find Reggie. She looked everywhere, every park, every store, every-

"Hey!"

With a gasp, Ellie turned around and threw her fist out, successfully punching Reggie in the nose.

"Shit, Ellie!" Reggie groaned as he clutched his nose.

"Oh, my god, I am so sorry I didn't mean to, it was a reflex-!" Ellie rambled as she searched her pockets - because her dress had pockets, duh - for a tissue or something. After she found one that was folded like a hundred times, she gave it to Reggie who put it under his nose, that was bleeding profusely. "Jesus, I have a strong punch."

"It's fine, I'm used to it." Reggie grunted.

"How could you be used to it? From what I recall, this is the first time I've punched you." Ellie chuckled nervously as Reggie's eyes widened.

"I mean- I got punched by a girl... a while back. So I know the feeling." he awkwardly laughed as Ellie nodded with pursed lips.

"Right, Reginald." Ellie rolled her eyes with a slight smile. "Or is it Regulus?"

It was his turn to roll his eyes. "It's Reggie. Do you need me to spell it out for you, Eleanora?"

Ellie scowled at him as the two walked side by side, their hands brushing but neither of them minding. "Do you even know how to spell?"

A smirk pulled at his lips. "Well, unlike you, I am smart."

Ellie gasped dramatically as she put a hand on her heart. "Oh, god, you've insulted me! What ever shall I do? I'll be mentally and emotionally scarred for years!"

"Stop being a drama queen and get a move one." Reggie shoved her lightly with a laugh.

"I'm not a drama queen, I'm a drama empress." Ellie stated with a smirk of her own.

"Oh yes, well my apologies, empress Ellie." Reggie fake bowed as Ellie snorted at him.

"Where are we going?"

"I'm taking you to my super secret dungeon where I will put you on a moving chair and push you to your death." Reggie stated in a serious voice. "Otherwise known as the park."

"Huh-" Ellie nodded. "Very descriptive. I like it - just not the 'pushing to death' part."

"Duly noted, won't mention that next time." Reggie said sarcastically as he pinched her shoulder. He snorted in amusment when Ellie swatted his hand away and sat on the swing nearest to her.

He sat on the swing next to hers as they sat in comfortable silence, just enjoying eachothers company.

"Don't you think it's weird?" Ellie finally managed to break the silence. At Reggie's confused expression, Ellie added. "This town. Everything about it is weird, nothing makes sense."

Reggie perked up, looking at her with hope. "Do you remember something? Something weird?"

Ellie shook her head. "That's the thing. I don't remember anything before this town, I don't remember my life, my parents." she played with her fingers. "I don't remember anything."

Reggie deflated but pursed his lips in thought. After hesitating for a couple of seconds, he leaned slightly towards Ellie and took her hands in his. He almost smiled and the familiar feeling.

"Ellie, everything is going to be okay. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." Not again, he thought miserably.

Ellie laughed a little. "You sound like Wanda."

Reggie straightened up. "How am I like Wanda?"

Ellie shrugged. "Well, you're both pretty secretive and have the same accent sometimes. It's like you could almost be related."

Reggie chuckled as he cracked his knuckles. "That would be crazy, wouldn't it?"

Ellie hummed as she leaned back on the swing, her hands detangling from his. "Where were you, anyways? I looked for you everywhere before you decided to scare the living shit out of me."

He rolled his eyes. "Out and about. This town is pretty big so I explored some more."

"How long have you been living here, anyway?" Ellie wondered.

"Ugh-" Reggie hesitated. "A couple months."

"And you're still exploring it?" she asked with a raised eyebrow, suspicion creeping up on her. Ellie felt her hands twitch, electricity crippling at her finger tips.

"Yeah, I didn't get to explore that much when I first got here." Reggie explained as he cracked his knuckles.

But Ellie noted it, she noted it from the first day she met Reggie. He cracked his knuckles when he lied.

She tilted her head as her eyes narrowed. "Tell me the truth."

A golden yellow color passed Reggie's eyes as he blinked. "I uh, I got here when you did."

"I figured." Ellie deadpanned.

Reggie shook his head as he stared a little into space before he turned to Ellie with an incredulous look. "What did you do to me?"

"What are you talking about, Reg?" Ellie chuckled as if nothing happened. "Seriously, you're starting to sound crazy."

He looked at her for a few moments longer, as if he couldn't recognize her, not anymore at least.

"Hey, how's your nose?" Ellie wondered.

Reggie touched it, having forgotten about it already. For once he was glad to be able to heal quickly. "Oh, it's fine."

Ellie hummed as she looked at her nails. "We should go, Vision is probably wondering where I am."

"And Wanda?" Reggie asked with a raised eyebrow as the two stood up and walked towards her house.

"I could care less about what Wanda wants right now." Ellie stated sharply as they continued walking.

Ellie paused in her step when she went to open the door to their house and heard a scream. She looked at Reggie alarmed before she opened the door in a hurry.

Her eyes almost bulged out of her head when she saw Wanda on the floor - with her belly three times as big - getting ready to give birth and a woman - Geraldine, was it? - hovering over her and encouraging her.

"Oh my god." Reggie breathed from behind her.

Ellie rushed next to Geraldine, the anger she felt towards Wanda immediately forgotten when she saw her in pain. "Wanda, Wanda! Oh my god, how are you- why are you giving birth now?!"

"I don't know!" Wanda yelled.

"Here, here-" Geraldine ushered Ellie. "Help me." she motioned for Ellie to help Wanda breathe.

"Wanda, Wanda look at me." Ellie rushed out as Wanda turned to look at her. "You can do this, just breathe. I'm going to be a big sister, you're going to be a mother. You can do this, come on."

"I can't, I can't-" Wanda shook her head.

"Yes, you can." Ellie said in a stern voice, making Wanda nod with her.

"You, boy, go outside or something!" Geraldine yelled at Reggie, who was still petrified. He stumbled back when she yelled but he left the house, motioning to Ellie that he'll be just outside.

"Okay Wanda, it's time to push."

Wanda screamed as she pushed, electricity crackling throughout the house, paintings turning and twisting.

Soon enough, a baby's cry was heard. Ellie looked in shock towards the already wrapped up baby boy in Geraldine's arms. "It's a boy, Wanda."

Wanda laughed tiredly as Geraldine handed her the baby. The baby made tiny noise as he was moved but he instantly got quiet in Wanda's arms.

"Hi." Wanda said gently. "Oh, he's perfect."

"Vision, no!"

The three girls looked at the sound only to see Vision dragging the doctor and Reggie behind him. At the sight of his wife on the floor with a baby in her hands, he stopped and dropped the doctor and Reggie's sleeve. "Oh no, I missed it."

"Doc, why don't you help me here in the kitchen." Geraldine suddenly got up, dragging the doctor with her. She suddenly stopped as she turned around and took Reggie with her too, wanting to give the family a moment.

"Well done, Wanda." Vision said gently as he sat down on the ground beside Ellie.

"Ellie." Wanda started. "Come hold your brother."

Ellie hesitated before taking the little baby in her arms, her little brother. She extended a finger to him as he happily played with it. She smiled at him and he gave a delighted squeal.

"Hello there, little Tommy." Vision cooed as he leaned over Ellie and played with his son. Ellie glanced at him suprised when she saw his normal, red color peaking out.

Visions smiled as he leaned down to kiss Wanda, only for her to start screaming. Vision started screaming too and Ellie quickly scrambled to cover little Tommy's eyes.

"What!?" Vision asked panicked as he positioned himself in fron of Wanda. "Good heavens, there's another baby coming!"

"Billy?" Wanda shrieked.

"Yup, that's Billy." Ellie found herself agreeing even though she had no idea what Wanda was talking about.

"Push Wanda, push!" Vision encouraged her.

"Jesus Christ." Ellie muttered as she peered down at Tommy who was innocently smiling at her. "Here comes your brother, little man."

Ellie still cradled Tommy to her chest as Wanda and Vision stood on either side of her. The doctor was holding Billy while Geraldine and Reggie were awkwardly sitting on the couch.

"Twenty fingers and twenty toes." the doctor smiled as he handed Billy over to Wanda. "You've got two healthy baby boys on your hands."

"Thank you, Doctor." Wanda thanked.

"All in a days work." the doctor sighed before he looked between Geraldine and Ellie. "And thank you for your assistance, young ladies." he then looked at Reggie. "You didn't do anything."

Reggie scowled at the doctor before he smiled slightly as he looked at Ellie.

"Allow me to walk you out doctor." Vision started as Ellie put Tommy in his crib.

"I'll come. I need some fresh air!" she added as the doctor made a joke about flying.

As the three left, Wanda turned to Geraldine and completely ignored Reggie. "I do owe you a debt of gratitude." she said as Geraldine came next to her.

Wanda put Billy in his crib as she watched her sons with a soft smile.

"Your such a strong lady." Geraldine smiled. "Can you believe it? Twins!"

There was a slight pause before Wanda looked at Geraldine. "I'm a twin. I had a twin brother. His name was Pietro."

Wanda smiled gently before looking at Billy and Tommy and singing lowly in sokovian only stopping when Geraldine talked.

"He was killed by Ultron, wasn't he?"

Wanda turned to her just as a tear slipped out of her eye. "What did you say?" she fully turned to her. "What did you say just now?"

"Wanda." Reggie said lowly and carefully as he stood up.

Geraldine blinked before she grinned. "I said, Wanda, you're such a strong lady! Should I say it one more time for good measure?"

"No." Wanda shook her head. "What did you say about Pietro?"

"Pietro?" Geraldine asked, confused as Reggie's breath caught in his throat. He'd seen that look on Wanda's face many times. "Hey, I'll take a shift rocking the babies."

"No, I think you should leave."

Geraldine stopped as she looked at Wanda. "Oh, Wanda, don't be like that."

Wanda's eyes slipped towards the upside down cross on Geraldine's necklace. "What is that? That symbol." she paused. "Who are you?"

"Wanda.." Geraldine started and Reggie from his spot stiffened when he saw Wanda tilt her head. Shit. "I..."

"Who are you?"

"Wanda," Geraldine started nervously. "I'm just your neighbor."

"Then how did you know about Ultron?"

"Wanda." Reggie hissed only for Wanda to form a fist and trap him in his spot, red tendrils leaving her hand.

"You're not my neighbor." Wanda started as red balls of energy formed in her hands. "And you're definitely not my friend. You are a stranger and an outsider. And right now, you are trespassing here. And I want you to leave."

Wanda raised her hands and threw the red energy at Geraldine, making her fly into the wall with a scream, only for it to die down as she distanced herself from them even more.

"Wanda!" Reggie yelled. "You can't do this to people!"

"You have no right to tell me what to do!" Wanda yelled as she released Reggie from the ground. "You lost that privilege long ago!"

"You think I don't regret it?" Reggie hissed. "You think I don't regret not being able to save my little brother every day? You think I don't regret leaving you, leaving Ellie? I think about Pietro every day!"

"And yet you left us to die!" Wanda shouted. "You left before the battle with Ultron. Ellie was heartbroken, and so was I! If you were there, you could have healed Pietro and he wouldn't have died." she hissed. "I didn't lose just one brother that day, I lost both of them."

Reggie was at loss for words as he looked at her, at his little sister. "Please Wanda."

"And now you come here, thinking you can rope Ellie into your games again, thinking you can make it up to me!" Wanda pointed a finger at him. "You destroyed my life, Reggie Maximoff."

Reggie faltered in his steps as he looked at Wanda and then at his nephews, who were sleeping in their cribs. "Please Wanda, what you're doing isn't right."

Before Wanda could respond, the door opened and a frowning Vision and Ellie entered the house.

"Where's Geraldine?" Vision immediately asked as Ellie's eyes trailed to Reggie and her head tilted. Reggie stilled, knowing that look far to well. She knew something.

"Oh, she left," Wanda said with a smile. "She had to rush home. And so does Reggie."

Vision looked at Reggie with a curious frown. "Very well, have a good day Reggie. Hope you come here more often!"

Reggie nodded as he swallowed, taking one last look at Wanda and Ellie then leaving.

He had a feeling it was all going to get worse, much worse.

ive been writing this chapter for FOUR HOURS. im so tired this chapter has 3300 words and im tired but i hope you like it!
