I reluctantly left the matter in the middle as Mallika went in the washroom. I was sure that she was hiding something. Specially with everything just happened one by one in a rush was not indicating anything good. Everything was just so confusing considering the fact that nothing was being normal. Eventually, Sumedh's another name was Riccardo and he was known as one of the the multimillionaires in US whereas he was Sumedh who was known as one of the biggest underground mafias in India.

What kind of ironically event was it? Why had he been in India when he was loaded with money ? Why was he being a mafia when he was bound to be the C.E.O of his father's company?Why did he kidnap Mallika? When Siddharth desperately wanted help from Mallika to help Sumedh for coming out of problems, I actually thought about that and I was ready to risk both of mine and Mallika's lives on that place. But when Mallika was attacked, I knew at that moment that she should step away from everything.

Even Sumedh had once tried to throw her out of his world which was probably the best decision he was going take on that moment. But again, he suddenly started misbehaving with her and now his true identity revealed with a big twist. What kind of game was going on? Siddharth surely had clear idea about it but he was not saying anything. He had been ignoring me for the last few days. Whenever I tried to ask him, he had intentionally avoided the topic and me. Honestly, I was not pleased about this marriage. But one thing I was glad that my parents had accepted mine and Siddharth's marriage.

My chain of thoughts broke when a shadow abruptly came in my vision. A particular someone instantly went infront of the room. I had clearly seen that he was fully dressed in black and his face was also covered with black mask. Seeing his appearance, it was clear that he was not any member of our family. Without wasting a moment, I rushed out of the room. I looked for the shadow here and there but found none there. Julie was simply busy with kitchen chores.

"Julie, have you seen anyone unknown here?" I asked her hoping if she had any clue about it.

"No, Mam. I was in this kitchen whole time, I didn't see anyone. " She replied when I just nodded. But I was hell sure that someone was there. Ralph was in his room and Sumedh along with Siddharth and his other men had gone in the office. The bodyguards were on their duties only. It left me, Mallika and Ralph in the whole mansion. I might be exaggerating things.But why would someone be in disguise here?

I decided to check upstairs. I went in Sumedh and Mallika's room first which was empty. Then I checked the other rooms which were found empty as well. When I was coming downstairs, I heard a high pitched voice ringing in the house. It was Mallika's for sure. I shuddered in uneasiness thinking if anything bad had happened with her.I ran in the room where I had left her behind. My eyes widened in the sight when I found a man in black dress picking up Mallika's unconscious figure on his shoulder.

"Mallika!!!!" I shouted her name as I rushed into the room. When he was going to move, I grabbed hold of the man's waist from back trying to stop him from moving.

"You bastard! Leave her." I yelled and kneed him on his groin from back. He groaned in pain. I was ready to have a face to face fight with him but suddenly I found more other men jumping one by one from the window.They gathered in the place instinctively and pulled me from the man. They all captured me by my shoulder and my waist. I tried to try my self-defense on them but they had blocked from everywhere which made it impossible to do anything. I tried hard to protest but it was hell difficult with so many men. I kept shouting and tried shoving but they held me tightly.

"Who the fuck are you all?" I heard familar voice and I turned to find Ralph,Sumedh's step father standing on the doorstep as he frowned at those men. Julie was there too but she was almost trembling in fear.

"Leave them." He growled in his authorative tone.

"Shut up, you old man." One of the man spat our with pure disgust The next moment what happened caught our breath. One of the men placed a knife on my neck and the man who was holding Mallika, put her down. She was still unconscious. He placed a knife on her neck too holding her unconscious body in his arms where she was absolutely clueless about everything.

"If you try to do anything, we will take a moment to slit the throats of these two girls." They threatened. I could be able to come out of this problem easily but they had Mallika under their vicious plan. If I tried to make any movement ,they were gonna do something worse to Mallika. So it was better not to show my self-defense at this point.

"Don't you dare." Ralph tried to sound as intimidating but everything was in vein. The next moment, those men surrounded him and caught him in their grips too. They all forcefully dragged us out of the mansion. As we came out of the mansion ,we were instantly met with those bodyguards of Sumedh who had their guns on. They were ready to kill those men as they pointed their guns at them. But Ralph showed his palm shaking his head in disapproval.

"Don't. Mallika and Avneet are in their hands. We can't do anything here." He almost said vulnerably letting out a sigh. I felt so worthless at that moment. On that moment, I felt like what was the need to learn all of those fight tricks when everything unfair was happening right now in front of my own eyes. I wanted to show them that I was capable enough to handle them but my best friend was under their hold for what I couldn't take any risk. If Mallika would be atleast conscious, I could have disregarded those bastards. I was fucking pissed with them. Most importantly, I had no single idea about who they were and from where they had come.

They nodded at Ralph and put their guns down. These men forced us to reach near a car where one man was literally pulling Mallika harshly by her hairs. She didn't know anything or couldn't sense anything now. They firstly shoved her in the car. They slowly got into the car only except those four men who were holding me and Ralph. They had their guns pointed at Mallika still now. My eyes caught something or more of someone who was beside Mallika, winked at my direction. He gave a side glance at Ralph. That was when I caught the expression of both of them. Ralph looked at him with clenched jaw and he stared at him with full of bitterness as if he was a dirt. That man looked at him with the same amount of hatred. This made me confused to see them busy in glaring contest.

"Paul" Ralph muttered slowly in calm yet dangerous tone. Then I came to understand that they both knew each other.

"Hey Ralph" Paul said sarcastically before pulling Mallika's unconscious body into him.

"Don't even touch her, you rascal." Ralph frowned and yelled on top of his lungs. This added to the fuel on fire and he pulled Mallika on himself and smirked in our direction. I pressed my lips in a thin line as I tried to control my temper.

"See you soon." Paul said with a wicked smile and the car slowly faded away from our vision. I watched in helplessness as they took away my best friend from me. Why did it always happen with her?

I wasted no time and elbowed the man's stomach who was holding me. He groaned and the gun fell from his hand. Taking the gun from the ground, I pointed it to the man who was holding Ralph at gun point.

"Leave him or I will shoot you." I threatened him. On that time, the bodyguards were already there. They caught them and took them from there when I and Ralph went in the mansion.

I was pacing in the living room and Ralph was quietly seated on the couch. I was extremely tensed Mallika. I didn't know where and how she was. Knowing self-defense really hadn't resulted anything. Instead my best friend was kidnapped. It was my fault. I should not have left the room. Sumedh and Siddharth were informed about this. They were coming soon. Wait, how did I forget that Ralph knew that guy who had kidnapped Mallika?

"Uncle, you know the guy who has kidnapped Mallika. Don't you?" I asked facing him. He firstly stared at me unsurely and hesitantly before nodding his head in "yes".

"Then why didn't you stop him?" I exclaimed. I was startled to know that he knew Paul. How could they know each other? They weren't friends for sure and it was clearly understandable seeing their interaction on that moment.

"I can't. They are having Mallika with them. If we would have tried to do something, they could have done much worse to Mallika which I can't let happen. She is wife of my son and I can't take any risk with this." He stated.

"But who is Paul? Why did he kidnap Mallika?" I asked him the main question which was twirling in my mind from the time when I had seen Paul. Ralph looked here and there as if he didn't want to say anything.

"Uncle, you have to say it to me. They have Mallika with them. I have every right to know who he is. I need to know what he wants from us." I raised my voice feeling the rage building inside me.

"Paul is the son of Silas. Silas was one of the underground mafias in New York. He was ferocious and everyone was afraid of him. He had the most feared gang in New York. But he didn't have any grudge against us. We even didn't know him. He used to be womanizer too.But oneday, he did something extremely horrible with me and my family for money." His voice cracked as he shuddered recalling the horrible past as per my assumption.

"That incident changed Sumedh completely. That incident has made Sumedh's life hell. It's something which I can't say in this spot. It's not my place to reveal the incident. Sumedh will say if he feels like." He said to which I gave a curt nod at his direction. He exhaled some air and resumed talking about Paul.

"For the horrible deed of Silas, I was so outrageous on that time. I lost someone who used to be close to my heart. I was so upset and furious both at the same time. Same goes for Sumedh. We both father and son were extremely angry and depressed on that moment. So to take revenge, I killed Silas secretly. Sumedh knew about this. From that moment, our enemity has begun. Then Sumedh wished to go in India when he was 18 years old. I tried to stop him but he emotionally blackmailed me and went in India. There he got involved with gangs. Sadly, Paul came to know that I was the one who has killed his father. So he is always trying to do something for his revenge. He is now the leader of his father's gang. Even he has visited in India before  just to kill Sumedh. He has tried multiple times to attack on us. Fortunately, we have been able to defend ourselves every time." He finally finished the story of Paul.

My breath hitched suddenly feeling so weak. Suddenly every flashback started floating in my eyes. This was the first time I was stressed to the core - not for myself but for Mallika. What would they do? If they would kill her, what would happen? I felt my eyes getting teary thinking about the dangers Mallika was going to face.

"Avneet " I heard my name being called by someone. I turned to the source of the voice as Siddharth and Sumedh came in my view. I instantly went and launched myself in the arms of Siddharth and broke into tears. I was scared about Mallika. She was like a sister to me. I couldn't afford to let something happen to her.

"Siddharth...they...they took her away." I said between my sobs and clutched his shirt. Siddharth patted my back and wrapped his arms around me.

"Don't worry. We will do something. " He assured me as he placed a soft kiss on my temple.

"Who was it, dad?" I heard Sumedh asking his father. I parted away from Siddharth but didn't come out of his hold. He held me close to him which made me feel relaxed than before.

"It's Paul." Ralph said with clenched teeth. I observed Sumedh's expression immediately changing into anger as his eyes instantly filled with rage. He clenched his fist and huffed in frustration.

"Paul." I heard Siddharth muttering under his breath. He seemed to be angry too as he stared at nowhere to be exactly with hard expression on his face.

"No, it's time to end the chapter of Paul permanently from our life." Sumedh growled before storming away from the place.

Ok, this chapter is long and a bit boring too. But it's really important since I have showed the truth of Paul and Silas through it. Besides, I want to say that my exam is starting from 2nd April. But as I said that I have got 2 weeks break from 4th April. So I will surely update the next chapter on next Tuesday. Till then do complete vote goals.
