SUMEDH

I was going through some files regarding the latest deal our company had cracked recently. Nowadays my mind was messed up. Mallika had now got to be all right after a few days. I was glad that she had handled the situation bravely. Luca had not still made any move to come to Mallika for her signature. Besides, Paul was also staying quiet without poking in our buisness or trying to attack us unlike before. He was unreachable. My men had still found no clue about his whereabouts. Everything seemed to be perfect and comfortable now with no sign of our enemy and Luca. However I could feel that it was the silence before storm. I needed to protect Mallika and Avneet along. Mallika was now learning self-defence steps from Avneet and our personal gym trainer.

Dad was upset when I disclosed the entire truth of Mallika. He bashed on me infront of everyone and later calmed down when Mallika took my side supporting me. Still we had this unhealthy and awkward tension between us whenever we would would talk.

The sound of slamming door open broke into my reverie as Siddharth strolled inside my cabin. He had some files in his hands.

When my father retired, he gave me the responsibility of handling this company and he made Siddharth the COO of R.C.S Group Of Industries. It was an electronic manufacturing company. The head quarter was situated in New York which used to be handled by Ralph and now me. We had several branches in all over the world such as Mumbai, Dubai,Columbia, Torento, Bangkok, Amsterdam and Paris. Along with electronic manufacturing, three branches of us were textile companies. Our buisness had specifically spread out in Mumbai, Columbia and Paris and had gained massive popularity.

Siddharth kept those files on the table and looked at me.

"Here are the details of all the deals of last 3 years. I have made a chart and notes about everything. Check them out." He said.

"Sure." I nodded my head.

"Hey, it's already lunch time. Let's go together and grab the lunch."

"No, you head out. I will come after finishing this file." I shook my head and let out a sigh.

"Ok, as you wish." He gave a curt nod before walking away from my room. After completing the file, I decided to grab lunch with Siddharth. Lunch time was going to be over within next 15 minutes. Without wasting any time, I went out of my cabin. Everyone was now currently grabbing lunch. As I was waiting for the elevator to come, I was suddenly hit on my head from backside. An immediate pain flew through my head making my head spin for a moment. But I was quick to recover from my state and turned around to find our receptionist lady standing there. She had a horror filled expression and she looked here and there. I was too shocked to react anything. Before I could ask her anything, I was again hit with something hard from my back on my head. This time, my knees buckled due to force of hit and I stumbled upon my feet.

I tried to compose myself but was again hit on my back for the third time. I looked up to find five unknown men standing along with our receptionist. They had sticks and guns in their hands. I immediately stood up gritting my teeth and swung my fist on one of their's face.

"Who the fuck are you?" I screamed as I tried to attack them. But my efforts were proved to be pointless when they together jumped on me captivating me in their tight grip. The next thing I knew that I was pushed inside the elevator along with them. I saw panic stricken face of our receptionist before the door of our elevator closed infront of my face. I struggled in their hold but they hit on the side of my head and my face again making me cough blood. I was absolutely helpless at this point, blood oozing out of my mouth and my head. I felt dizzy.

I wanted to badly defend myself but they had caught me off guard. I had no security or my gun with me right now. It was not going to be easy coming out of their trap. One of them tried to punch me on my face but I somehow managed to free my one arm from their grasp and dodged his attack. It made no result though when another man grabbed my arm and twisted it sideways making me grunt in pain. Taking the advantage, they pushed me and kicked me on my ribs. They began kicking me on my body making it impossible for me to dodge their attack.

That was the exact moment, Mallika's face came flooding infront of my eyes and before I could understand what was happening, darkness engulfed me.

MALLIKA

I was feeling very sick like usual. I was not sure why it was happening. In the last few days, I had been feeling very aweful. My stomach was aching and I was not able to digest whatever I had been eating. I had been vomiting a lot and I had got serious cramps in stomach. My health was deteriorating with times and my periods had stopped too. I was suspecting that I might be pregnant. My symptoms were indicating that. Besides, we had not used protection while making love after our confrontation. I had talked to Avneet and she had immediately suggested me to consult a doctor.

That was why I was now sitting infront of Dr. Sona Connor. She had checked me up and I had explained her about my late period and my regular sickness.

"Yes Mrs. Spencer, your assumption is absolutely right. You are pregnant." She dropped the news with a smile. My eyes widened and I felt a sudden adrenaline rush through my spine. I was pregnant. I was going to be a mother. I was not sure about what I was exactly feeling.

Nervous. Shocked. Happy. Uneasy.

I was absolutely overwhelmed with the chaotic mess my mind had created with so many emotions. But my happiness overshadowed all other feelings and I found myself smiling in her direction.

"Thank you so much Doctor. It's such a great news. I can't express through words about how much happy you have made me with this news." I replied politely wheras my heart was speeding up with flood of ecstacy and excitement. I felt like jumping in joy.

"No need to thank me. It's my duty." She shook her head with small smile. Then her expression suddenly replaced with a frown and she looked at me seriously.

"But there is one problem. With your symptoms and other issues, you have to be more cautious and under observation of someone who will take care about your food habit and your other essential things. Your pregnancy is bit complicated. Since you have anemia, there is a small risk in case of your delivery. So you have to be extra conscious regarding your eating orders and daily routines." She explained. My heart throbbed hearing her words. I should be careful from now onwards. Letting out a sigh, I nodded my head in understanding when she recommended me a diet chart to follow regularly and prescribed some medicines to take according to time course.

After making sure that I had bought all the medicines and some groceries, I got in the car and headed towards our house. After reaching our house, I quickly rushed inside the mansion holding back myself from bursting in joy. I was having the strong urge to share this news with everyone. But I had to wait because at first I would like to break the news to the person who had given me this ecstacy. He deserved to know the truth first.

My happiness was short lived apparently as I found all the security guards along with all other family members had gathered in the living room. Some of them were walking back and forth wheras Ralph was speaking or more like loudly shouting on his phone with someone. Everyone looked so worried and angry. Realizing that I had come back, Avneet looked at me. Her expression switched into pity filled look.

"What happened?" I slowly asked gaining all of their attention.

I got to no response in return. They all only kept staring at me with sympathy and worry laced expression.

"I asked - WHAT HAPPENED?" I emphasised my question again.

"Mallika, vo...

Avneet tried to say something but was cut in middle when Siddharth chose to reply.

"Sumedh has been kidnapped by Paul's men."

My all boood drained hearing his words. It took me a few moments to register his words.

"What!" I shouted.

"Yes, Sumedh has been kidnapped by Paul's men during the lunch break. I went to grab lunch along with other employees. He was busy doing some works. When we came back, we found traces of blood and things of office scattering here and there. After not finding him anywhere, we have come in conclusion that he has been kidnapped." Siddharth explained.

"What the hell are you saying? Where was the security? What were they doing on that time ?" I screamed on top of my lungs. Avneet rushed towards me and hugged me tightly.

"There was no security around him on that time. He sent them away for grabbing lunch. Infact he never allows to keep any of his men with him during office hours." Cassey replied, his head bowing down.

My heart squeezed in anticipation of thinking about the possibilities of him getting beaten by them. I had experienced it. I knew how much ferocious and heartless they could be. I hoped that he would survive at any cost and would fight in however the situation was. He had to make it. He had to fight back for me and for our child.

"We have to save him. We have to know where he is taken." Ralph said as he stood up from the couch. All the men including Siddharth gathered infront of him.

"Look, this time we have a solid proof against Paul. We have the CCTV footage of our office when Sumedh has been kidnapped. When Pema was murdered, we tried to get them caught which came out to be ultimately useless as they got the access of our proof somehow and at the end we were obliged to choose this path and we killed Silas."

"It looks like history is repeating itself. But this time, it's going to be more dangerous. We need to keep the proof safe and we should make sure that they shouldn't get any clue about this proof or about our next move. This time, we are going to involve the cops who would help us to track Paul." Ralph explained calmly.

"What are you saying, Sir? Involve cops ? It will be risky for us." Peter pointed out which I too was wondering. It would be definitely dangerous for them. Ralph smiled a little in his question.

"Well, it's time for a big revealation I guess." He gestured Siddharth to come and stand beside him which Siddharth did. He too was smirking like Ralph. Ralph kept his right arm on his shoulder.

"Here I present you Mr. Siddharth Nigam, the undercover cop of United States."

I gasped in shock with new information. I looked at Avneet to find her in the same situation. There was chorus of gasps and talks immediately.

"Am I in some kind of movies? I never knew that my life is no less than some movie. It's getting dramatic day by day. I am not shocked anymore." Avneet stated, her eyes scanning Siddharth.

"I agree. This mafia thing is full of chaos and dramas." I nodded my head.

"Fuck everything! My incredible life can beat Shakespeare's drama at this point. What more shocks are left for me?" I sarcastically thought in my mind.

"Silence!" The room became silent immediately.

"So yeah, Siddharth has been appointed as the undercover cop just a month ago. And he has got the case of Paul and thus he will be helping with us in every step making sure that we don't get suspected or caught at the end." Ralph explained the matter.

"Omg! That's great news." Avneet exclaimed in joy and ran towards Siddharth jumping in his arms. I smiled at them. I was truly happy for Siddharth.

"Congratulations Sid" Avneet grinned at him after breaking the hug.

"Thanks babe." He too grinned at her and pecked on her lips. Ralph cleared his throat breaking their moment.

"So now may I have your attention please?"

"Yes" Siddharth nodded.

"I have made the plan already. Infact, we were expecting something like that. However, we didn't expect that they would target Sumedh." Siddharth said.

"Paul has come back from wherever he had been hiding for so long. As per sources, he is going to meet with Arabian clients tomorrow at Jackson Iqbal House of Bar (I created this name 🙂. I don't know if something like this bar exists in NewYork). They are doing "Trafficking in woman". It's the reason they are meeting there. That bar is the best place to do any kind of criminal activities. We will divide into three groups." Ralph mentioned.

"Peter will lead one group which will stay behind. When I or Siddharth will order, then you guys have to come on the spot. In another group, Harry will take responsibility of them. I and Siddharth along with a few more members will take disguise of Arabian clients. We are going to threaten those clients who will visit here and will mix in the group. We will try to save those girls and women after the deal without their doubt. If any commotion happens or if we would get caught by them, Harry will come with other members. And about Peter, Peter and his team have to go to rescue Sumedh during this deal. If we couldn't manage to work according to our plan and we all get caught, the cops will take action." Ralph elaborated the idea. He now looked completely different- a lot colder and more threatening.

"And Cassey, you will have the main duty. You will have to look after this mansion, Mallika and Avneet. Their safety is more important. Remember that, nothing is more important than their safety. " He sterly said to Cassey who in return nodded his head.

"No, I won't stay here when Sumedh will be there fighting for his life. I will also help you all to find him." I objected.

"Yes, I will also help too. Those girls will be sold for no reason. They are helpless. And knowing that Sumedh is in danger and those girls' dignity are at stake, I can never stay quiet in house." Avneet said. I was not surprised. She had been always like this. She was admired for her feminist mindset and her bold mentality.

"Avneet and Mallika, this is not place for you. You have to understand. We respect your concern. But it's very dangerous. We are doing this for your own good." Ralph told us.

"We know that. We are aware of everything. When we have decided to give in to our loves, we have already assigned ourselves in the hands of danger. It's nothing new for us. We will help at any cost. Besides, we have been taking self-defence classes. We are not vulnerable if you think we are." Avneet retorted. She had challenging look in her face.

"Absolutely, I agree with Avneet. I and Avneet will also go with you in that bar." I crossed my hands against my chest.

"What!!" Siddharth exclaimed.

"Sumedh won't like that, Mallika. " Ralph nodded his head in denial.

"No Dad, you have to understand my prospective too. I can't stay quietly knowing that all of you are unsafe and will be in danger." I let out a sigh. "Whether you guys permit or not, I am going to make sure that Sumedh is fine and those girls will be safe."

There was a long pause before Siddharth accepted our offer.

"So yeah, we will be going in the bar and we will also take disguise like you guys. When you guys will be helping those girls to escape from there, I and Avneet along with Cassey and some other members will keep our eyes on Paul and Paul's every moves. We will make sure that he couldn't get to know about any clue of our plan."

"If everything happens as per our plan, it will be easier to catch them. But if we somehow get captivated, we will try to save ourselves. On that time, we will contact with you guys. Then the rest of the matter is in your hands."

"It's actually a perfect idea. We have to execute every steps very cautiously and safely." I nodded at Siddharth.

"But how are you guys going to disguise?" He asked with a frown. I looked at Avneet in response. She smirked in return. Then we both turned to face them.

"We are dancers for a reason." We said together with broad smiles on our faces. I kept my hand on my belly and mumbled slowly,

"Mumma will save Daddy, my child."

Well, this story coming to an end. There are most probably 5-6 chapters left to complete this story. There will be epilogue and bonus parts as well.

For now all I can say is that there are a lot of dramas that will happen in the next few chapters.
