MALLIKA

I woke up early in the morning like always. I found myself pressing against something hard as it was radiating warmness through my body. My eyes moved to the place where an arm wrapping around my waist and my head resting on Sumedh's chest. His body was radiating heat which had engulfed me. I felt secure and comfort in his embrace still now. Even after knowing that he was the one who had made my life upside-down with his threats ,I still felt same feeling of protection under him. And I hated myself for feeling like that.

He seemed to be in deep slumber. So I didn't bother to wake him up. I carefully woke up so that his sleep didn't get disturbed somehow. I went to washroom and did my morning chores. I put on a fresh set of clothes. Sumedh had not yet woken up. I went downstairs in dinning room where Sumedh's father was reading newspaper sitting on a chair.

"Good morning,Mr. Spencer." I greeted him.

"Good morning,dear. Call me Ralph." He gave a small smile. I just nodded with smile and settled on one of the chairs. Avneet came there shortly after a few times. She greeted me and took a seat beside me. I greeted her back and smiled.

"How was the night?" She tried to say teasingly. But seeing her expression,it was crystal clear that she was displeased and doubtful.I didn't blame her as she knew me very well. We had grown up together. It was natural. I seriously didn't have any idea on how I was going to keep this secret from her.

"Good." I simply said trying to avoide the topic.

"Is that....

She was going to say something but stopped when Julie thankfully came there with the tray of breakfast. She placed the food in the table and greeted all of us.

Avneet was still looking at me suspiciously when I avoided her gaze and started having the sandwich. Wait, it tasted like egg. I was not a fan of egg. I might be thinking too much due to everything happening around. With Avneet's constant gaze, I kept eating the sandwich avoiding any kind of interaction with anyone present there.

"What the hell!" Avneet suddenly screamed. Our attention turned towards her while she glared at the sandwich in her hands.

"What happened,Avneet?" Ralph asked with concern.

"Yeah what happened?" I too asked her. She didn't reply, instead she took one sandwich from my plate. I narrowed my eyes at her with surprise.

"Mallika, this is egg sandwich and you just took it." She yelled scowling at me. My eyes widened in realisation as I bit my inner cheeks for having it without noticing.I had allergy in eggs and the outcome was horrible.

"Jesus, what did you do, Mallika? Why did you eat the sandwich if you are having allergy in eggs?" Ralph asked concern.

"What? Who has allergies?" The familiar voice was heard as Sumedh chose that exact moment to take entry in the scene. He walked near our table. He was ready in a black tuxedo just like those buisness men.

"Riccardo, your wife has allergic reaction on eggs. But still she has eaten those egg sandwiches" Ralph stood up. Sumedh seemed to go stiff for a moment and soon his expression was replaced with anger when he glowered at me.

"Who has made the sandwich?" He shouted. Julie came rushing in the room.

"What happened,Sir?" She asked as her expression stated that she was scared. Sumedh was surely going to scold her but she had no fault in it. She didn't know it. It was my fault. I was stupid.

"Have you made the sandwich?" Sumedh asked coldly.  I was going to stop him when I felt a sharp pain stringing from my stomach. I held my stomach sighing.

"It's me." I heard Julie saying shivering.

"Why are you irresponsible? Can't you see that Mallika has allergies in eggs? Then why the fuck have you made the egg?" Sumedh began yelling on her when she bowed her head down.

The pain increased more and my head started spinning. It was unbearable.

"Ahhhh" I yelled when the it stinged painfully piercing me physically as if a knife was stabbing hole on my stomach. Avneet rushed to my side as I started stumbling on my steps.

"Sumedh, firstly help me to take Mallika in the room." I heard Avneet shouting. I was not able to stand properly due to pain and I supported my whole body on Avneet. My eyes were open but I was not in state to say or do something. I saw Sumedh and Ralph coming in my direction. Before I knew what was going on, I was lifted in Sumedh's arms in bridal style. He carried me to a nearby room.He laid me down on the bed when Avneet and Ralph came in the room. Avneet sat beside me.

"Seriously,how can you be so stupid? Haven't you noticed that there was egg in the sandwich?" Avneet scolded me raising her eyebrows. I shook my head absent-mindedly and looked towards Sumedh who was probably calling the doctor.

"Dad, I have called the doctor and he is coming soon." Sumedh informed when Ralph nodded. That was the last thing I heard before darkness consumed me.

I woke up feeling something soft caressing my face. I opened my eyes and Avneet came in my vision.

"Thank God, you woke up. We were so worried." She exclaimed and helped me to sit up keeping my back on the headboard of the bed. I turned my my eyes to other side where I found Sumedh staring at me from the couch on which he was sitting.

"Are you OK?" He asked me as he got up from the couch trailing near the bed.

"Yeah I am feeling better now." I said truthfully nodding my head positively.

"The doctor came and checked you. He has given you some medicines and you need to take those accordingly." He stated. His voice was laced with worry which I somehow found to be true. I thought that he was faking it.

"Sumedh, you should go to office. It's your first day as C.E.O. We all are here to take care of Mallika." Avneet said which I just was thinking in my mind. He couldn't miss today as it was his first time going to office as the owner of R.C.S Group of Industries. But how did she know?

"But,she is...

"No, it's fine. I am here. You don't need to worry much. I know how to take care of her." Avneet replied sternly which made Sumedh stunned for a few minutes.

"Ok." He said and left the room before taking a glance of me.

"Thinking why I sent him away from you?" She asked me and I nodded positively.

"Because I need to talk to you." She said in serious tone.

"And what's this?" I asked confusingly.

"You need to spill out the truth, Mallika. I know that there is something going on between you and Sumedh. I mean everything from the beginning is just happening suddenly. From kidnapping you to marrying you, what does he want to do?" She asked like a detective furrowing her eyebrows. She had look of disbelief on her face. Honestly, I didn't know what to do at this point. A part of me wanted to spell everything and again I was afraid to share it as Sumedh had threatened me not to tell anyone including Avneet. I gulped my saliva in nervousness and began to give a smile so that she would stop being doubtful.

"No, there is not anything to worry about. Sumedh loves me and that's why he is doing all of these. He has said it himself yesterday. " I tried to sound excited and enthusiastic so that she wouldn't doubt more.

"But..

She was probably going to ask something again when I stopped her.

"Avneet, I need to go to washroom." I successfully cut her in the middle. She simply nodded and she helped me to walk up in the washroom. Closing the door ,I heaved a sigh. Without wasting any time, I opened the tap of the bathtub and filled it with hot water.My body was little sore.I dipped into the water slowly as I relaxed a lot now.

I stayed there for half an hour exactly closing my eyes. For that time, I was only concentrating myself. Not any kind of bad thoughts came in my mind. I felt refreshing and a lot better than before. Stepping out of the bathroom in a towel, I grabbed a pair of clothes and wore it. I was on the way of drying my hair with hairdryer. At that moment, something collapsed on the floor. I jumped in surprise and turned back to find a man landing on the floor through the window of our room. He was wearing a black face mask and so I was not able to recognize him.

I screamed when he sprinted towards me in steady steps. He was going to hold me when I tried to flee from there. Unfortunately, he easily caught hold of my hands and I was pulled into a hard chest. Before I could register what was happening, a piece of clothe was placed on my nostrils and I was hit with something on my head. My eyes blinked several times as several dots appered in my vision.  I tried to stand straight yet my body seemed to give up. The next thing I knew that, someone was holding me and I was being carried somewhere.

"Mallika!!!!" I heard someone shouting my name before I completely got blacked out.

I am sorry for not updating so long. Well, what can I do? Again, my board is starting from 2nd April and it's going to take a month for my exams to be completed. Then I have my practical exams. In another word,I am fucking tired with everything.

But one thing is a relief that I don't have to study much for this exam. As I have already given my pre-board and the result was unexpectedly amazing. So I will be able to update frequently. Atleast that's what I am hoping for now.

Also I will surely update the next chapter within 3-4 days if you complete the target of votes.😉
