SUMEDH

A burden of guilt was burning my whole body. I knew that whatever I was doing was terrible.I was basically using a naive girl to fulfil my revenge. Honestly,I didn't use to feel so disappointed in the beginning even when I knew that I had to use the girl. I felt myself being awefully terrible person for forcing a girl to marry me just to keep my father's words and to take my revenge. But I knew that there could be nothing more perfect way to execute my plan. It was just the starting. I had to be strong and I had to make my heart as rough as stone so that my attention would never go to her.

I slided my arm across her lean structure and led her to my room. She maintained her silence from the beginning. She was looking heavenly beautiful in her white gown which I had selected for her. Well, she had compelled me to choose her wedding gown for her. That's what I just did.

I opened the door of my room. She already knew this room since she had already visited here.

"So, here is my room as in our room. We have to share the room together so that no one could get to suspect something fishy." I broke the silence stating a matter of fact. Mallika turned towards me and scoffed in annoyance. She got out of my hold and stood a few centimetres away from me.

"I am very well aware of the fact that. You don't have to give me any kind of clarification. You are a beast." She rolled her eyes.

"Angel for God sake, be little practical and try to thank someone. I have simply stated a fact and why are you trying to be such crazy person?" I said trying to cool my temper. Nowadays, she had just tried to look for a opportunity and if she would get it, she would immediately start with it.

"Just don't give me that attitude,Mr. Spencer. You may be intimidating for others but for me you are just a common human like us. " She glared at me.

"Angel, don't test my patience." I responded in cold voice. But she only smirked at me and stuck her tongue out at me.

"You are crazy." She exclaimed dramatically. She was going to move when I pulled her by holding her wrist. I grabbed her waist and made her to look at me by cupping her cheeks.

"See Mallika,I am being nice to you. Just keep it in mind that I won't be always same." I replied sounding serious. She seemed to go still for a moment. Then she jerked away from me and scowled at me.

"You said that you are being nice to me. Fuck your nice nature! How can you say so when you youself has taken the responsibility of making my life living hell?" She screamed on top of her lungs.

"Cut the crap, Mallika. Just keep your fucking mouth shut. If anyone comes to know the truth then I will make sure that your family will suffer for your disobedience." I showed my index finger at her and this seemed to silence her as she bowed her head down. I noticed that her eyes had teared up. She was hurt and I couldn't see her hurt. The atmosphere became heavy and I felt the need to supress my emotion. I felt so bad for shouting on her and constantly threatening her. Regarding my composure,I stormed away from the room not wanting to be weak in front of her.

"Please don't do anything to my mumma."

A 11 year old boy was begging while sobbing loudly. He was frustrated and disgusted with everything happening.

"Leave me. Let me go to my mumma." He screamed again and again trying to escape from the hold of those 6 men who had captivated him with chains. His both were tied and he himself was tied with the chair. The sounds of groans and painful screams were echoing from the room beside the living room. But those men seemed to be deaf on hearing the loud sounds of sobbing and shouting for help. When all of these were happening, the boy was crying in helplessness but who would care? Those men were incarnation of devil in the namesake of human. They were inhuman.

After some times, the door of the room opened and a man around 30's came out while buttoning his shirt. His shirt was ripped off in some places and some of his body parts were filled with the marks of scratches of nails. The man smirked looking at the innocent boy who had not the ability to stand against the devils like them. His eyes were flooded with tears which was reflecting his mind condition.

"Leave the boy." He ordered his men and they instantly obeyed him undoing the ropes from his body. The boy soon rushed into the room where his mother was. After going in the room, he found the biggest shock of his life. His mother was lying unconscious on the bed while her abdomen was filled with blood.

"MUMMA" He shouted and went to his mother.

"Mumma, please open your eyes."

"Mumma, what happened to you?"

"Mumma, please talk to me. I am here only."

"Mumma, please look at me for once." His voice was filled with desperation and remorse. He took her head on his lap and hugged her head tightly. He broke into tears on seeing his mother's horrible state. He then went out of the room to find that those men had left. He called his step-father who wasted no times in coming there. His mother was admitted in the hospital. Unfortunately, the fate of that boy was not that good that he would be able to save his mother.

"I am sorry Mr. Spencer but your wife couldn't make it. She has been raped brutally by those men and her abdomen has been damaged. Then she was shot directly on her heart. This is the point we can do nothing. She is no more."

These were the exact words the doctor said to me and my father 10 years ago. That was the moment when my mother left us. Thinking about those horrible incidents, I felt like a looser, a trash and a beast. I was there but I couldn't save her. This guilt would be eating me up for my entire life. I felt ashamed on myslef for not being able to save my mother. I felt useless for not doing anything to save my own mother.

I kept drinking while thinking all of these. Those memories were just like nightmares and unfortunately, it was the part of my life. I deserved something worse for what I had done. I was there when they raped and killed my mom but I was just sitting there begging for her life instead of taking actions.

A huge lump formed on my throat. I was trying supress my emotion but I couldn't. Whenever I thought about my mother, I couldn't be the Sumedh or the Riccardo people saw me as. I no longer stayed stronger like I appeared to be when it came about my mother. I missed her. I gulped another shot as I felt my eyes getting teary at the thoughts of her.

"Sumedh" Someone whispered my name. I looked up to find Mallika standing there with a smile playing on her lips. Seeing her, my heart filled with an unknown satisfaction. I stood up from the swing stumbling on my feet. She came infront of me and helped me on by grabbing my shoulder. She cupped my cheek and passed a smile in my direction.

"Don't cry. It makes you weak." She said. This made me cry hard and I finally broke into tears.

"Why did everything happen with me, Angel?" What did I do that my loved ones left me so early?" I turned to the other side gazing at the sky.

"My fate is not with me. I am so lonely." I spoke my heart out. I again turned back to find her nowhere.

"Angel" I called for her name but she didn't come out. I started calling for her names hoping to see her again but she didn't come. I gulped another shot and smiled pitying over myself for being so delusional. Mallika never came here. I was just too drunk.

MALLIKA

After talking with Avneet and her mother, I went in Sumedh's room where I was going to stay from now. Avneet's parents and my grandmother would leave the day after tomorrow after our reception. I still couldn't believe the fact that I was married now. There was a weird feeling which I never felt before.

Sumedh was nowhere to be seen at this moment. After our argument, God knew where he had left. I didn't care. I decided to change my dress as this gown was very heavy. I took a shower and changed into a pink bunny night dress. I loved this night dress. It was so comfortable. After changing clothes, I came out while humming a song when the door burst open and Sumedh walked stumbling on his feet. He was no more wearing the coat he was wearing at the wedding venue. But he had his shirt on. The first two-three buttons were undone and the tie was no more around his neck.

"What the fuck?" I groaned and went near him. Before he could hit on the floor, I held him from falling down. He was drunk. This was new to me. I never thought that oneday I would see this nature of him too.

"Aww, you smell so good." He said nuzzling his face in the crook of my neck. I steadied him to stand properly as he was tripping again and again.

"Sumedh, you are drunk." I stated and put his arm over my shoulder trying to help him for going in the bed.

"No, I am not." He shook his head repeatedly while his lips were pressed into a tight grin.

How much did you drink?" I questioned. He glanced at me with his drunken hazy eyes. His eyes stayed longer on my face scanning over my face entirely. I raised my eyebrows when he smiled broadly at me.

"You.Are.So.Beautiful.Angel." He said in between his hiccups while pointing on my face.I furrowed my eyebrows as he grinned sheepishly. Getting near the bed, I pushed him down softly as he laid down the bed. I went to move away from there when I felt a tug on my wrist. I turned towards him raising my eyebrows.

"What now?" I asked little annoyingly. Instead of answering, he pulled me and I fell on top of him not being able to maintain my balance. Our eyes were locked in a eye-lock when he slided my hair strands behind my ear. He smiled almost in daze as I found his eyes almost dropping.

"Please stay with me." He whispered softly before closing his eyes. I stared at him for a few minutes.

I observed how how he looked so peaceful while sleeping. This was another Sumedh, not the heartless one. I sighed at my thoughts and put my head on his chest closing my eyes. I was too tired to get up right now.
