Magnus couldn't sleep that night after what happened between him and Alexander. He tried to call him several time but his phone was off. He doesn't want to bother others with his problem knowing Alec's siblings might get angry at him for making Alec's upset. He decided to go to the institute earliest in the morning to see Alec, hoping he would listen to his explanation.

When he woke the next day, he immediately thought of Alec. He quickly put on his best clothes, making himself presentable and not miserable although everyone could see he actually is, he went straight to the institute. When he arrived there, everyone was at their feet, running around with their weapons, they all geared up into their patrol as ordered. Just another normal day for them but a stressful day for Alec or Magnus.

He looked around and trying to find any person he knew, honestly he was to scare to face Alec right now and luckily enough he met eyes with Isabelle. She stood facing the screen tapping furiously looking angrier than anyone else there. Behind her were some other shadowhunters and when they looked at Magnus approaching, they eyed him with a disgust. Magnus knew the feeling, a warlock, an ex-warlock, roaming around the institute like he own the place. He remembered it clearly back then, a downworlder to be walking around in the institute like this would be a dream. For them to enter the institute is denied unless needed. How much has Alec Lightwood changed that and how he appreciated it.

He inhaled a deep breath and exhaled them before he approached Izzy. He cleared his throat and Izzy turned, she looked him in the eye and turned back on the screen, not a smile shed. "Magnus Bane, what do I owe you the pleasure of your company today?" She said making Magnus stunt at her sudden coldness. "I need to find Alec, do you know if I could find him in his office? Also why the institute is like being hit by a Garuda?" He asked twisting around his body looking at the entire institute hall. He knew his questions is rhetorical but he had to for a simple ice breaker. She turned looking flabbergasted and confused, raising her arm on her hips. "What's a Garuda?" She asked ignoring the other questions and Magnus smirked, snorted at her innocence.

"Some Indonesian myth of a god bird, or maybe not but not important, has Alec talked to you? He's not replying my call since last night." He enquire knowing well what happened. "Can you blame him?" Izzy stated and Magnus rubbed his lips together before he continued. "Look Izz, I know I made a mistake. I just-" Before he could explained to her, he was cut off rudely."Mistake? You broke my brother's heart. He almost died Magnus, he devoted his life for the person he loves so he could come back, what's your deal? What's stopping you?" Isabelle asked after pulling Magnus into a corner to talk more private knowing everyone is already at their feet carrying out orders which also probably eavesdropping on the conversation.

"You don't understand, Izzy, I'm scared. Alec burst his questions out of no where without even consulting me. I love him, I was too scared because I never encountered one. I chocked and he didn't even listen to my explanation, he just left. " He added, Izzy sighed rubbing her temple, "Well what do you expect? Look, I know you love my brother, it would be a total lie if you said you don't. But what you did really hurts him. I never see my brother cried that hard yesterday. He thought I didn't know but I heard him and the last thing I want is Alec to get hurt, or any of you to get hurt. If you still think this relationship couldn't work then let my brother go. Don't let him suffer anymore. He deserves to be happy." Izzy finished her statement, placing her palm on Magnus' right shoulder squeezing in assurance and left the hall.

Magnus thought on what she said and honestly, losing Alec is the last thing he wants. He want to see his future with Alec however short it may be. He saw Alec as his future not his past like he sees Camille or Imasu. "Izzy! Wait!" He shouted and Izzy was caught in surprised when she turned and saw Magnus halfway sprinted to her. "You gotta help me in something." He said and pulled her away somewhere out from the institute looking like a lost puppy.

Alec couldn't focused on his work after what happened the night before. Everywhere he look the only thing he could see was Magnus hesitant eyes. The way he reacted when Alec pulled out the ring and surprised him, he could never forget that face forever. He was sitting on his desk resting his face on his palm before his eyes gazed on the drawer beneath his desk. He pulled it out and the black box was there. He picked it up and open them, eyeing the detail on the ring before he pulled it out from the case.

The ring was simple but it was unique, just like Magnus. It was designed with black diamond and the ring is black and gold plated. What makes the ring so special is the lettering Alec had it engraved inside, he eyed the lettering, 'forever I'm yours'

Alec chuckled at the first thought of had it engraved but then he thought, if ever Magnus would got his magic back, he is back being immortal and Alec is still mortal. Whatever their future holds, Alec would still have doubts about their futures together.

He was lost in his thoughts when suddenly he heard someone cleared his throat and accidentally dropped the ring. It bounces on the desk and to the ground till it reach to the person's feet. Alec looked up and saw Jace stood by his door and picked up the ring. He eyed the ring in details and gasped. He looked at Alec in shocked and his face is priceless. "You're gonna propose to Magnus? Oh my god Alec, why didn't you tell me? When are you gonna ask him?" Jace said shooting his questions bullets at Alec as he walked closer to his desk and handed him the ring. "I did." Alec said in a slower tone putting the ring back in the box and placed it neatly under the table. He then sat back on his chair and began to scroll his iPad.

"Alec what happened?" Jace asked as he took his seat right in front of him. He sighed not wanting to look at Jace otherwise he would break into tears. "He said no." He muttered, his eyes began to be more blurry as he hide his tears away. "I'm gonna kill him." Jace said and quickly got up from his seat to exit the office but Alec called him back, "Jace! Sit your ass down. Its done, I'm not gonna talk about this anymore. If it meant to be it will be. I guess I should have expected it to happen anyway, and it did and I should move on."

Jace sworn he could see how broken Alec got after saying those words. How hurt he sound and could feel it, he is his parabatai after all. "Alec you can't let this guy put you down, after everything you guys been through, there must be some reasonable explanation to this." Jace trying to put some sense into Alec's head but it looks like he already had his mind made up. "No. Whatever his reason is, I don't want to hear it. I'm done getting hurt, its time I'm living for myself." Jace sighed knowing Alec is hurt and angry so he doesn't want to make things worst instead he just nodded and let him be. He went out from his office only to be pulled by Izzy to one corner, "What the fuck?"

Alec felt drained after  a long day of moping and being miserable. He couldn't remember the last time he had something to drink. The memory on Magnus' cooking came to his mind and suddenly he felt hunger. He was coped in the office all day and didn't even had a decent meal to eat so he decided to go out and eat, probably get some fresh air. As he stepped out from institute his pants vibrates indicating his phone is ringing. He took it out and saw Izzy's name on it. He answered it with a tired tone, "Hey Izz, I just want to get some air, I'll be back in a bit okay." He forgot to tell anyone at the institute that he might be out for sometime but he didn't expect what he could be hearing next. "Alec come quick its Magnus!" Izzy voice sounds distress and pants causing Alec's heart to beat normal than usual, especially when he heard Magnus' name.

"What is it? What's wrong?" He asked but Izzy didn't answer immediately. "Something happen, Magnus got hurt. Please Alec we need you, come quick to his apartment." He was about to say something else but the line was dead and silenced. He quickly activated his speed rune and ran like there's no tomorrow. His heart is beating out from his chest worrying about Magnus. No matter if they already broke up, Magnus is always his top priority, now that he's mortal making him more vulnerable.

Alec arrives at Magnus' loft few minutes after the call and he rushed to the top as soon as possible. The moment he entered, the loft was empty and he thought probably Magnus is in the room. When he entered, the room was empty and he kept calling him but no answers. "Magnus!" He pulled out his phone and tried to call Magnus' phone but it went to voicemail and later he tried to call Izzy's but also the same, voicemail. He cursed and went around the loft to look for him which then he remembers, the rooftop.

He climbed the staircase and pushed the door open calling out Magnus name. "Magnus!" What's in front of him was actually a nightmare to his only dream, Magnus standing on the ledge of the railing looking down. "Magnus stop!" He said as he saw Magnus tried to lean and looked down. He stopped and still stood by the edge  with his back facing Alec. "Magnus come down from there, its not safe. Please." Alec held out his hand for Magnus to reach but he didn't bother to turn around to receive it, instead, he kept his gaze straight. "You know how much it hurts when you lose someone close to you Alexander?" He started and Alec looked at him with a confused look on his face. "Magnus what are you talking about? Please come down, its not safe there." He tried to persuade him again but he won't budge. "I made a mistake." He continued and Alec felt distressed when he used to be on the ledge but now its Magnus and if he did jump, Alec won't be able to save him.

"I love a guy so deeply that I know he will be the death of me. When I thought I almost lost him, I wanted my life to end too but then he came back and he wanted to marry me but I was to overwhelmed to say yes. No one asked me before because I either ran away or the person die before they even try." Magnus slowly turned on his heel facing Alec, his usual looks was not what Alec expected tonight. He was not wearing his make up and his hair is not spike up in usual. His clothes are more to Alec's and when he looked further into it, it is his. His old shirt with sweatpants, barefoot. He slowly stepped behind closing his gap between the edges - dangerously close.

"Magnus please stop, let's talk about this. I know I should have ask you about this first and I should have never provoked you like that. I was immature and stupid not to think through this, so please." He got down on both of his knees with his hand raised up surrendering, "Whatever you do, don't waste your life for someone like me. I'm just a boy you'll meet in a century and move on to another, its not worth your time. I'll do anything you asked me too, I'll get out from your life if you want me too, you can compelled me to forget if you want but please, don't hurt yourself. I rather not have you than to see you die." Alec began to tear his eyes out and it hurts for him to say so. He's willing to lose Magnus from being his partner than to lose him forever in Edom.

Magnus' heart broke hearing what Alec just said, he never thought his plan goes this way. He slowly stepped down and stood before Alec in his kneeling position, his face still facing the floor before him. Magnus slowly crouched in front of him and raised Alec's chin up to face him. His tears soaking his cheek as he batted his long lashes, "You are worthy of my eight hundred years of living my dear Alexander." Alec broke and burst into more tears hearing those words. He wrapped his arm around Magnus' body and continue his sobs on Magnus' shoulder.

"Marry me." Magnus whispered into Alec's ear. He pulled out from their hugs and looked into Magnus eyes seeking for any hint of joke or sort of amusement in his eyes but the only thing he did saw was sincere and guilt. "What?" Alec mumbled and Magnus smiled weakly, raising his palm to cup Alec's cheek wiping away all his tears dry. "I love you more than anything in this world. I wanted to make you mine forever, when you asked me last night, it was a spur of the moment and I couldn't have a chance to explain myself and you already left. So Alexander Gideon Lightwood, would you do me the honor of becoming my partner, my love, my husband and most importantly, my eternal bound on this world and beyond?" Magnus pulled out the box of purple velvet ring case and opened them in front of Alec. He gasped at the ring inside, it was almost as similar as he bought for Magnus, only the black diamond was laced with rose gold making it almost silver when you had only a glanced.

"Nope!" Alec said as he got up and turned leaving Magnus on the floor fumbled in confusion. "What the fuck?" He questioned and got up grabbing Alec from leaving the rooftop, "You have got to be kidding me right? I almost killed myself and beg you to marry me, that was a perfect line ask anyone." They started to argue not knowing they had to burst each other's ego in order to have what they want. "Fuck you, now you know how it feel like to be rejected." Alec said pulling his hand away from Magnus grip but he caught almost immediately, "I didn't rejected you, I just need time to think my answer and you run away like a scared kitten."

Alec looked at him furiously not agreeing being called a scared kitten, "You choked and you know it." He added and Magnus smirked, "I did not. fine! Go ahead and run again, prove me wrong!" Magnus crossed his arm around his chest pretending that he was not offended by the words at all. Alec smirked closing their gap together, his arm crossed on his back and he bend his body to Magnus level. "I do." Alec whispered in his ears earning Magnus a loud gasped and immediately pulled Alec closed to him and their lips crashed into together.

Their kiss turned from deep to lustful and when Alec began to devour Magnus' face he stopped him and pushed him away. "What? What's wrong?" Alec asked him feeling all insecure again, "We have company." He said looking behind Alec's shoulder and smiled when Izzy and Jace along with Clary and Simon giggling and clapping their hands together in joyous smile ever. "Congratulations big brother!" Isabelle ran to Alec and hug his waist while Jace hug his side. "Congratulations brother." Jace commented and they all smiled in happiness including Alec. Clary went on hugging Magnus instead knowing it would be awkward for her to hug the person who used to hate her but the hatred passed when Alec decided they are family now.

"How did you know I would say yes? What if I said no then?" Alec asked, Izzy and Jace immediately released him from his hug looking at his deadpan like 'are you serious' look. "Oh come on, if we weren't here, you and Magnus would probably fucked by now." Jace made a snide comment against his brother and he earned a smacked on his head. "Language! and now you mentioned it, the hell are you guys doing up here?" He asked looking around for anyone else but no one seems to be there except for them.

"Relax, mum is at home with Luke. Its just us, plus Magnus asked me for help and I asked Jace which then he blabbed out to Clary and of course Simon happened to be there to help too." Izzy said smugly smiling at Simon and Jace looking at Clary like it meant to be this way which then Magnus had his hand smack the back of Jace's head, "Okay you need to stop doing that. No one touch the gold hair but me alright." Jace rubbed his hair back fixing it back in place.

"I told you to keep it a secret and retrieve something for me, you don't need a back up for that." Magnus claimed and Alec fall back in questioned, "What thing?" He asked and Jace handed him the box, the box on his desk that he had earlier, the ring box. "So you could give to Magnus." Alec took it gently and opened them before him, "Magnus, do me the honor? Be my husband, don't make me ask you again." He handed out his hand holding the ring and Magnus chuckled holding out his palm for Alec. "I do darling." Alec put the ring on his finger and he mirrored the same for him.

They all cheered for them as they kissed and leaned their forehead together. "You know if any of us got ordained, you guys would be marry by now for real." Simon exclaimed but immediately scowled at the glared Alec gave him. "Just saying." He raised his hand hiding behind Izzy for protection. Magnus smiled holding Alec closed to him and almost pulling him to his hug. Nothing is happier in his life right now other than being beside Alec in his warmth. Having this family as part of his family too and seeing their faces each day making his life complete again.
