Author's Note: Hi, you probably do not want to hear from me right now, as I have not posted for quite some time. I am swamped with schoolwork and the end of the year is approaching so, we have so many other assignments and material we need to get done! I want to post regularly. Regularly won't mean every other day though. It'll mean once a week. So, every Friday I will post a one shot and a chapter for the high school story! I am so sorry and now to the one shot.
As the time for dinner was approaching, the nerves were heightening. Alec had stopped studying hours ago. He could not concentrate on the material. Whenever he tried to study, he ended up fiddling with the pen and was just constantly lost in thought of Magnus. He decided to strip of his clothes and hopped into the shower. The warm water hit his body and that also reminded him of Magnus. How warm his body was against his when they were together. He slouched out of the shower and wrapped the towel around his waist. He shook his wet hair was he looked into the mirror, hoping it stayed in place. He used another towel to dry off his hair and grabbed his outfit that he had chosen for tonight. Alec hated wearing jeans after showering. It was just a mission and a half to pull them up, on his wet legs, and no matter how much he dried them, it would not work. He struggled to pull his jeans on and draped the towel over his shoulder.
Magnus Bane was the most extra human when it came to dates. He always made such a mess whenever he tried to pick an outfit. He tried to find the perfect outfit to leave his, undeniably attractive date, speechless. He dressed to impress. He rummaged through his closet. He threw clothes all over the floor and when his closet was empty, he resorted to the dressers. The dressers had nothing. Magnus groaned. He went to the pile of clothes on the floor and threw everything all over the place and when he finally gave up, he plopped down onto the remaining clothes and yelling. He suddenly saw these pants. They shone in light of the sun. The pants caught Magnus' attention and he crawled towards them slowly.
He picked the pants and they immediately gave him an idea. The pants had vertical stripes. Some stripes were plain black and some had silver rhinestones all over them. He grabbed them and draped them on his shoulder and rummaged through to find the shirt he was looking for.
"Aha!" he said, grabbing the shirt. The shirt was a plain white with letters in glitter that said, "BLINK IF YOU WANNA KISS ME" in gold. He found a black blazer to throw over that shirt too. He placed on a couple of rings on each hand. They were a mix of turquoise, silver and black. To match his outfit, Magnus removed his purple nail polish and opened a bottle of black nail polish. He carefully painted each of his nails. He missed his ring finger on each of them. He took out a gold, glittery nail polish, and placed it on both of his ring fingers. He blew on his nails to make them dry faster and he flapped his hands up, down and side to side to make them dry. When they were finally dry, Magnus started his makeup. It was quite simple. He carefully applied his eyeliner on his water line on his eye, and perfectly glided it through to make the perfect wing. He dusted some glitter on his eyes, to make them stand out even more. He placed his brush in a palette of bronzer and very deliberately slid the brush from near his ear, down almost to his lips, to make his cheekbones stand out and give him a warm tone. He smiled and reached for the highlighter. He grabbed it and took copious amounts and placed it above his bronzer, and on his nose. You could clearly see it from anywhere you were standing. Magnus winked at himself in the mirror.
Alec made his bet and changed into the clothes he had taken from Jace. He put on the shirt and sprayed on some cologne. Not too much though, he did not want to frighten Magnus. He grabbed his leather jacket and his combat boots. He took the keys and locked the door behind him as he was leaving his studio. He took a quick look at the address and called for a bus.
He entered the bus and waited patiently for his stop to arrive. He had seen that Magnus had texted him.
Magnus: So excited for our date tonight, pretty boy ;)
Alec: Yeah, me too.
Alec was now worried, was that too little. Did he come off as dry and not interested. Because he sure was interested. His stop had finally arrived and it was 7:50pm. 'Phew' he thought. He straightened out his shirt with his hands and entered the restaurant. Alec was astounded. The lights were dimmed and there were candles everywhere. The tables were made out of wood and it was so vintage. The floors were licked clean and the walls had all sorts of art on them. It looked as if they had these marks, that people had on their arms for battle, and there were warlocks(?) doing magic? He was completely mesmerized and then, walked in Magnus.
Magnus saw Alec inside the restaurant before time, and thought to himself, 'I like a man who's punctual.' He entered the restaurant with open arms and yelled, "I'M HERE!" he saw Alec and made his way over there, "Alexander!" he said. Alec was adorable. He blushed and rubbed his hand behind his neck, Magnus smiled, "Are you nervous?" he asked bluntly. "Who? Me? Nervous? What? N-no. You're n-nervous!" he said defensively. Magnus laughed. As he started to walk to their table, Alec followed, playing with his thumbs.
Alec looked at the menu and his eyes opened widely. He gawked. It was all so expensive! There was no way he could afford this place, who was he kidding? Alec did not know if he should tell Magnus or what should he do? He was sweating. Magnus looked content looking at the menu. Alec was fiddling with his thumbs, kicking his legs back and forth and taking deep breaths. He did not know how Magnus would react.
"Um, Magnus." Alec said weakly. It immediately caught Magnus' attention though.
"Yes." he said so innocently, looking up from his menu.
"I'm sorry, but I um can't afford this place." Alec said, tugging on the collar of his shirt. Magnus laughed.
"I'm paying, darling!" he said.
"No, I'm sorry. I can't let you do that." Alec said standing up. He was about to exit the restaurant when Magnus followed behind and caught up to him.
"So, where are we going?" Magnus asked, taking Alec's hand. Alec stared at his intertwined hand with Magnus'. He felt Magnus' soft hands on his cold hands. He took a deep breath and exited the restaurant.
"How about Taki's?" he suggested. Magnus nodded excitedly and the two walked their way to Taki's.
Alec noticed Magnus better in the sunlight. He looked breathtaking. His eyes and face sparkled, like shining stars. His hair was made to perfection and his outfit perfectly matched his personality. "You look divine." Alec whispered into Magnus' ear.
Magnus giggled, "Thank you, Alexander, and let me tell you, this is way better than your pizza deliverer uniform." he laughed. Alec chuckled as well.
The two entered Taki's hand in hand. Magnus found a seat and sat down. Alec sat down directly in front of him. Magnus stared out the window and smiled subtly. He looked at Alec, who was much more calm and collected. He stared at his menu and could not decide what he wanted to eat. There were an abundant amounts of options.
Alec placed down his menu and asked, "Where do you work?"
Magnus looked up and said, "Bane Designs, I'm the CEO."
Alec jaw was left open, Magnus smiled. He loved seeing Alec like this. "Where do you go to school?" Magnus asked.
"NYU." Alec said.
"How's that like?" Magnus asked.
"It's tough, but great. It's been harder since my parents-" Alec stopped and looked down.
"Oh, I'm sorry, again." Magnus said in a soft voice.
Alec winced and Magnus looked at him sympathetically
"Oh Alexander." Magnus said, extending his hand out. Alec took it.
Alec looked back up and wiped his tear. The two ordered their meals and they had arrived. Alec ordered a burger and fries and Magnus got a pasta. The two sat and talked for so long. It was as if the world stopped spinning and time was still with them. They were just there. Them two. Together.
At the end of the date, Alec suggested, "Do you wanna get ice cream?"
Magnus smiled and started walking. The two made their way across the street to the ice cream parlour. Magnus got excited seeing all of the ice cream flavours. He could not decide what flavour he wanted. Alec smiled at the sight of Magnus being so content.
Alec sighed and said, "Can I have a rocky road, cup?" the worker made their way to the rocky road ice cream and opened the door to it. Magnus looked at Alec with puppy eyes.
"Alexander," he whined, "I can't decide."
"I know." Alec whispered, and he took the rocky road ice cream and handed it to Magnus, "It's my favourite." he said.
Magnus took the cup from Alec and Alec got one more and paid the worker. The two made their way out.
"I guess this is goodnight?" Alec said.
"Let me drop you home." Magnus offered.
Alec nodded and Magnus called his car. The two made their way into the car and sat very closely to each other. They had arrived at Alec's house.
"Goodnight." Alec said.
"Wait, I'll walk you up." Magnus said, opening the other door and getting out. Magnus and Alec both made their way upstairs. When they reached Alec's studio, they stood there leaning against the door.
"This is me." Alec said, then he blinked a lot of times. Just fluttering his eyelashes up and down, rapidly. Magnus suddenly understood what he meant. 'BLINK IF YOU WANT TO KISS ME' Magnus shook his head and smiled. He pulled Alec in and pressed his lips to his. Alec smiled into the kiss and Magnus soon pulled away, "Goodnight." Alec whispered, unlocking his door. Magnus said, "Goodnight."
Alec closed the door behind him and jumped up and down with glee. Magnus on the other hand, slept with a hanger in his mouth because he could not stop smiling.
