Time for some foreshadowing

Today is Sunday and I'm now freaking out over tomorrow. Are we even qualified to do this mission, why didn't they let Nat do it. I can't stop pacing around.

"Yo Y/N you need to calm down I can sense your nervousness from here." Danny says taking off his gloves. "You think you'd be more calm after getting punched in gut from me."

"Okay I don't know how that would calm me but you're right I shouldn't be worried... except I am." I say to him

"Bro it'll be alright we got your camouflage that should make this easy, hell it'll give me less work since you and Wanda could just do this mission yourselves."

"You're right this mission should go smooth as butter... I hope." I'm still doubting myself though

After our training session I head into my room so I can take a quick shower.

"Hey Y/N you in there?" Nat says from the door.

"Oh yeah come in." I say as I wipe the sweat off from my face.

"Thanks for let- why are you shirtless." Nat says staring at me.

"Oh I just got done doing some training and I was about to head to the shower soo." I tell her like nothing.

"Oh ok..." Nat seems lost in thought "Oh yeah the mission tomorrow. Stop being worried about it, we both know you guys are going to complete this mission easily."

"Wait how do you know I'm nervous about this mission." I say

"Danny told me."

"Oh that skank. Always running his mouth."

"You don't even have to be that worried, as long as you avoid fighting as much as possible you should be getting out of there with no worries. Remember the details of the mission. You just have to go in and copy details of whatever they are planning and basically any and all info they got going on. The actual shutdown of the place will be later." Nat says trying to reassure me.

"Yeah you're right this is just a simple go in and get out mission. No reason to worry. Appreciate you Nat." I give her a side hug.

"Hey don't hug me while you're all sweaty." Nat says slightly blushing

"Oh yeah sorry about that, well I'll see you around I'm going to take this shower. Appreciate you again."

Nat then leaves and I get in the shower.

After a refreshing shower and still mentally preparing myself for tomorrow I head into the living room with my suit on of course. This is definitely going to get annoying to constantly do and I know for a fact I'm going to forget to put it on one day. I really should just tell Rogue it's me in here, honestly I'm surprised she hasn't found out yet since people are just saying my name.

I sit down on the couch and I guess everyone is somewhere else or in their rooms because I'm all alone here. I put some music on and decide to read a book. After a little while I hear a door close and it seems someone is coming down. I look to my side and I see it's Rogue, good thing I have my suit on.

"Sup dude." Rogue says to me

"Oh hi Rogue, what's going on." I say as she sits on the couch.

"Oh nothing much I'm just bored, still waiting to be put on a mission. Wish I could be with you guys. I'm here now though, I heard the music and realized this is basically what I listen to also. Guess we have similar taste."

"I guess we do."

"It's funny I actually never listened to this type of music before but one of my friends at school showed it to me and I grew to like it."

She's definitely talking about me, I gave her my playlist last year and she really enjoyed it.

"I bet he's a great guy." I say to her

"He really is, lately he's been a little distant but it is summer so I understand that he may have stuff going on. Hell I got stuff going on now with this whole super hero stuff now."

"Speaking of how did you get out on this team." I ask her being curious

"Oh well a little while back there was an accident between some bad guy who called himself the penguin and he had a bunch of weapons and such. Unfortunately I was caught in the cross fire and got stuck under some rubble. After everything was settled I got rescued by Carol Danvers or Ms Marvel I guess a she goes by. Now the bad thing is I get my powers by touching people through physical touch and my gloves got ripped when under the rubble so she took the rubble off my and grabbed me by the hand I absorbed her powers."

"Wait that's kind of a sick super power what the heck." I say interrupting her.

"Yeah it is cool but the longer I touch someone the more drained they get because I'm taking their energy. Theoretically if I touch someone for a longer time I'd sap all their energy and start taking their life force so it can get bad. Luckily we only touched for like 2 seconds but that's all it took for her to get dizzy and for me to have some of her powers now."

"Wow so you can like fly and stuff?" I ask curiously

"Yeah all I got was flight, super strength and some durability."

"Hey that's cool still, all I got is this suit and yeah I can do a lot of things with it but without it I'm just a normal person." I say

"I understand to some extent, I'm nothing without stealing someone's powers but the cost is honestly too much for me."

I grab my cup of water. "Toast to us superheroes with flaws."

Rogue grabs her cup of water. "Yeah."

We have a little laugh then we get silent for a little bit as we vibe to the music.

Then suddenly I get a call through my suit.

"Hey Kid I need you to the roof so you can get up to the helicarrier. Want to run things by y'all before tomorrow. Fury out."

"Well then, I got to go. Fury wants to review with us before tomorrow." I say to Rogue

"It was nice hanging out with you sugar. I'll see you later." Rogue says to me

She just called me sugar, she never calls anyone sugar unless she's comfortable with them.

"Yeah I'll see you around." I get up from the couch and head to the roof.

I don't know if I should be jealous she called someone she thinks isn't me sugar but she did technically call me sugar. Fuck this is complicated, I'll just think about it later.

After heading to the roof I spot Wanda and Danny already here.

"Y'all got the call too?" I ask them

"Yup, guess it's actually happening soon. Our first official mission as a team." Danny says excited.

"I bet you're only excited because you don't have to do the heavy work." Wanda says

"Hey I'll be helping out! Sort of." Danny says

We all just chuckle a bit before a quinjet lands and the pilot asks us to get in.

After a bit of wait time we get to the helicarrier and go into a room that looks like it's meant for meetings, makes sense.

"Hello Kids, hope you're ready for your first mission." Fury says to us

Where the heck did he come from.

"You guys can go ahead and sit. So as you should all know, this is a stealth mission which means we are hoping that no massive fight breaks out. Now with you guys being rookies it's definitely possible that something will go wrong and a massive fight will break out. We'd like to avoid that so we can attack at a different time with more of our forces organized but if it happens then it happens. Now like you should've seen in the details we sent, we have this warehouse just near where Y/N fought M.O.D.O.K before. Thanks to that fight we were able to find evidence that they use a warehouse as a cover for an underground base. Now as stated we just need y'all to infiltrate and gather data to see if we can get locations on more bases or if we can find plans so we can stop them before it happens. Also we sent you entrance details but once you're inside we are completely blind so you'll have to just do things by your gut. That's it for details, I'm not one to encourage but you guys are still just kids to me so I'm hoping for your success and even if things go south I know we'll get something valuable out of it. Meeting dismissed!"

With that Fury leaves.

"Wow that wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be." Danny says

"Yeah and it seemed like he was actually hoping we succeed, maybe Fury does have a soft side." I say

"Alright boys let's get back and be ready for this mission tomorrow." Wanda puts a hand out seemingly to do a group cheer. We put our hands together. "Go team on the count of 3. 1 2 3."

"Go team!"

We head back to Stark tower and call it a night. I decide to stay in my room this time so I can be ready with everyone. I'm definitely still nervous but that won't stop me from sleeping

After a nice night slept I get up and talk to Danny and Wanda on how we should approach the entrance. The mission won't officially start till it's darker outside so we go over on how things should go.

"Well I'm thinking since there will be a guard on watch how bout we keep an eye on him for a little bit before knocking him out. Then afterwards I can take his clothes and disguise myself as him at the entrance, that way no one finds it suspicious if they notice the guard is gone." Danny says

"Wow that's actually pretty smart. Ok we'll leave that up to you. Me and Wanda will infiltrate and look for information then." I say. "Can't really plan anything else once we're inside besides try not to get caught. I believe in us though.

After a bit of nervousness and waiting for the sun to go down we officially get into a SHIELD car that drives us somewhat close to our mission location. The driver told us if we knock out anyone and can get out without being suspicious to bring them to the car so they can arrest them and send them away so that helps with our first part of the plan.

We get out of the car and walk a little bit being as sneaky as possible. We hide behind another warehouse just a bit away from where ours is located. I use my suit to give my magnified vision and I locate the guard on duty. Like we said we're just going to watch for a bit to see if we notice any patterns so Danny doesn't look suspicious when pretending to be a guard. After around 10 minutes it doesn't seem that the guard does much of anything besides guarding the door. We don't see him use his walkie talkie like at which makes it easier for Danny.

"Alright I'll get close to him so I can knock him out just give me a moment." I say to the other.

I turn invisible and walk slowly towards the guard. I sneak behind him and give him a quick chop in the back of his head to knock him out. I signal for Wanda and Danny to come over and Danny takes the knocked out guard to the car so deal with that. Me and Wanda wait by the door to make sure no one shows up while we wait for Danny. After a while Danny comes back in the guard outfit.

"Alright guys I wish you luck." Danny says

"Good luck brother, let's get going Wanda." I say to Danny

We head inside I turn invisible while Wanda uses her magic to make herself invisible. We head into the warehouse but we don't notice anything at all, just a bunch of boxes. I ask my suit if it can notice anything while I look around and after a bit I see a little keypad on the wall.

"Shit its password locked... let me try something." I put my hand near the keypad and my suit starts moving and suddenly the keypad turns green and a secret underground door opens. We'll add that to the list of cool things my suit can do. When we head in we see a gigantic underground base which seems to be for building all the mechs we've been fighting recently. Oh this place is going to be real interesting.

And here we are at the end of the chapter. I'll be honest I wanted to write more but I def would've wrote almost triple the amount I do and would rather save it for its own chapter.
