Truth behind the Legend

(Y/N) pov

I am following Ruby, who is holding a flashlight, into the tunnel, we head deeper and deeper. As we do we see engravings on the walls, pictures. We come to the end of the hall and we see an empty room, dead end great, in the room though was a big painting of the Knights of the Round Table. I look a little harder and I see numbers and I realize something.

(Y/N): Girls, I've seen this painting before.

Yang: Really, where?

I pull out a old diary and start flipping through the pages.

(Y/N): My dad gave me this journal before he died, I never realized the signifcance until now.

I find the painting in the journal and show it to everyone.

(Y/N): You see...

Weiss: Look, the numbers your dad writes about in the journal are here as well.

Ruby: Your dad was definitly onto something here.

Blake: Well we now know the source of the numbers, but we still don't know what they mean.

Everyone else starts spewing out ideas on what the numbers are for, while I am trying to think. Then I look through more of the journal and find something about a knight's tomb. As I am reading, I think back to the old manuscripts and then I realize what my dad was doing.

(Y/N): Dad wasn't looking for a book about the tomb, look here *I show them the entry about the tomb* he was looking for the tomb itself.

Blake: You mean the tomb is somewhere down here.

(Y/N): Yes, my dad figured out what was down. Look...*I then point at the numbers on the wall* three, three, seven, seven, ten...and ten. Look around for a ten.

The team starts pacing around the room looking for a ten. Ruby then notices something on the floor and exclaims.

Ruby: Blake stand on (Y/N)'s shoulders with the light and look at the floor!

I stand firm as Blake gets up and stands on my shoulders, Weiss tosses her a flashlight. Blake shines it down and then sighs in excitment.

Blake: Ha, ten. I guess "X" does mark the spot after all.

Blake hops down and Yang starts tapping the ground and stops at the middle when she hears something different.

Yang: Ok everyone, stand back.

Everyone hid behind my shield, as Yang starts punching the spot she stopped at over and over. Yang finally busts through the floor and we join around the hole. We can't exactly see the bottom, so I grab one of Yang's dust shot cartridges and carefully open and spread the raw dust on a stick. I somehow light it and drop the burning stick down and wait. When the stick hits the ground, we all can tell it is a long way down.

(Y/N): I'll be right back.

I go back out of the tunnel and find (H/N) to get into the saddle bag and get rope. I get back to the group, tie the rope to a pillar and throw the rest down the hole.

(Y/N): Alright, I'll go down first.

I simply grab the rope and slide down to the bottom. As I land I look around and see a decrepit tunnel leading Oum knows where. As everyone else comes down the rope, I grab Weiss and guide her down gently to the ground.

Weiss: Thank you.

(Y/N): Come on, lets move.

We head down the tunnel then, we start to see more engravings, but much older. I stop to look at some symbols that are under the engraved pictures, Weiss then takes a look as well.

Weiss: Pagan symbols, fourth or fifth century.

(Y/N): Right. 600 years before the time of Arthur.

Weiss: The knights would've dug they're own passage and burial chambers centuries later.

Blake: That's right. If there is a knight of the round table down here, we'll find him.

Yang: Or what's left of him, anyway.

We continue down the passageway for a while, then come across another engraved picture. Ruby shines a light on it and Blake takes a closer look at it.

Ruby: What do you think Blake?

Blake: Another "X". I think we need to get through this wall.

(Y/N): Watch out, then.

I come up to the wall, while the others stay behind me. I smash through the wall hard, and in doing so I lose my footing and fall through face first. Weiss is quick to check on me.

Weiss: Are you ok, tough guy?

(Y/N): Yeah, but look at this.

I dip my fingers into some sort of liquid that now covers the floor of the next passage.

Blake: What is that?

(Y/N): Petroleum, I should sink a well down here and retire. Whatever you do no fire.

Everyone nods and we move through and make our way through the liquid gasoline. As we make our way through another narrow pass, I hear squeaking and I grab a flashlight and shine it on the ground.

(Y/N): Oh, rats.

Ruby: Ahhh!

Ruby jumps into Yangs arms scared.

(Y/N): Easy fearless leader.

Yang and I ended up having to carry both Ruby and Weiss through the rats. As we continue forward through the petrol and mor rats, we come to another burial chamber. As we check the caskets Blake is amazed at the engravings.

(Y/N): It's got to be one of these.

Blake: Look at the artistry of these carvings and the scrollwork.

As we move from casket to casket, Weiss finds a casket and starts examining the carvings. And tells us...

Weiss: It's this one.

Everyone makes they're way over to Weiss as she blows on the casket to reveal the carvings on it.

Weiss: The work of the Arthurian knights.

Yang and I get on opposite sides of the casket and push the lid off, to reveal the skeleton inside. I start getting excited as I look at the shield entombed with the skeleton.

(Y/N): This is it we found it. Look..*I blow on the shield* the markings are the same as on the manuscript. Hah, the shield is the second marker.

I pull out a piece of paper and unfold it.

Weiss: What is that?

(Y/N): It's a rubbing I made of the manuscript I thought it might be useful. Now it is. The shield is the missing piece of dad's puzzle.

Blake: So it gives us a starting point to look for Excalibur, right.

(Y/N): Yes! Yes, yes!

Just then I hear a noise like flames erupting and it's getting louder.

(Y/N): Everyone, get out of the way!

I push the open casket over and into the drink.

(Y/N): Everyone, get under the casket!

The flames surround us the tomb as I finally get under with everyone else.

Ruby: What are we going to do, we're trapped.

(Y/N): Wait here I will be right back.

I go under and start looking for a way out. I comeback and the girls are struggling with the rats. I get the rats away and calm them down.

(Y/N): I've found a way out, follow me and deep breath.

The team goes under and follows me out. A minute later we get to the entrance and surface. After catching our breath I realize we are behind the wall to the cellar, I kick down the wall and we arrive back in the cellar.

Weiss: Well, that could've gone better.

Yang: Could've been worse.

Ruby: At least we found what we were looking for.

(Y/N): Yup, we are one step closer to finding Excalibur.
