Chapter Eight
I watched as Vincent fell to the ground. I gasped as I felt dizzy. I laid back down and panted. Am I done? Did I finish my job?
I blacked out..
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU FINISHED YOUR JOB!
It rung loudly in my brain. I put my hand on my head and opened my eyes. Two females were buttoning up my shirt. I sat up and pushed them away.
"If you're wondering, my name is Jackson and this is Haily. Congrats!" the female beamed.
"Where's Vincent Clark? " I asked.
"He's in the next room, " Haily smiled. I thanked them and got up. I heard screaming from the other room, making me panic.
I opened the door and saw a few men trying to hold Vincent down. I walked fully inside and stretched. "Vincent, calm down, " I whispered. Vincent looked at me.
"I'm supposed to be in hell, not here! " he yelled.
"I don't believe so. Calm down, " I whispered. Vincent studied my face closely.
"Is that your old body?" he asked. I nodded. I hugged him and nuzzled into his chest. He sat up and hugged me.
" I am you're protector. Welcome to heaven, Vincent," I smiled. He stared in shock as I pet his hair.
"I was only 30... What happened...?"
"Heart attack. You over used your body," I whispered. His eyes widened. I rubbed his cheek with my thumb. I leaned in and kissed him.
"You can quit with the man look. You are the lady of the relationship," Vincent smirked.
"From what I remember, we took turns, " I grinned.
"Now, now. No getting it on right now, " I heard someone laugh. Jane. I smiled and waved at the young woman with wings.
"The ceremony to greet Vincent is here. I'm Jane, by the way. I am the one you met before you woke up," she beamed a pearly white smile.
"Hi, Jane. As you know this is Vincent." Vincent gave a lazy wave. He seemed really close.
"Well, y/n can you cut his hair. His pony tail won't cut it here, bud," Jane giggled. Vincent's eyes widened as Jane handed me the scissors.
"I guess, Vincent move your hand," I commanded, prying his hand off his rat tail. I pulled the rubber band out of his hair and brushed it.
I began snipping it, making it a bit shorter. To be honest, I didn't want anyone else to touch him. He was mine and mine only.
As I cut his hair, Vincent whined. Once I finished, I brushed his hair once again. It was still long enough for a rat tail, but it was short enough to be reasonable.
"I didn't cut it that short, Vince. Calm down," I smiled, placing my forehead on his. He gave me a weak smile before looking in the mirror. His eyes widened.
"That's......... New....."
"Well, you look handsome! It's time for your ceremony, Vincent," Jane smiled, clapping. "I hope you don't mind halos and flower crowns!" I saw a grim smirk on Jane's face. She mumbled something.
"What was that, Jane?" I asked, tilting my head. She shook her head and beamed a small smile.
"Nothing, y/n. How about we get going. Don't want to be too late!" she chuckled awkwardly. I nodded and helped Vincent up from his bed. He smiled and began walking towards the door. I let him walk out first.
We were greeted by long hallways. It was very silent, though there was a soft breeze and many people walking around. We exited out of the long halls and outside. The breeze seemed to get stronger, turning into strong winds.
"Snuff out the unclean," a stranger said as he bumped into me.
"Hey, whats up with that guy?" I asked. Jane looked at me. She turned around and stared at the man blankly.
"There's no one here but us," Vincent finally spoke, grabbing my arm as he pulled me into a hug. "But I do miss your short body..."
"Cleanse the unwanted... Snuff out the unclean.." I stared at a man who whispered these words in my ear. He wore a black hood with a smirk on his face. i blinked and watched him disappear.
"Right over HERE," Jane spoke, her words getting deeper with every syllable. In front of me was a wooden door. It looked old and broken. I sighed and held Vincent's hand.
"Vincent, when I tell you to run, I MEAN it. Don't hesitate," I whispered in his ear. "Find a way back to earth quickly. I stuck Jeremy's address in your pants pocket on the couch. Find him and kill him. This place is not what it seems...."
Vincent gave me a worried look. "It looks fine to m-,"
"What are you guys talking about?" Jane gave me an eerie smile. I shook my head and smiled nervously.
"I was just telling Vincent congrats... Can we go now?" I asked.
"Alright," Jane gave me a sweet smile. She opened the door and quickly shoved us into the dark room. She slipped inside and closed the door. My eyes widened as I made out the pearly white teeth Jane always showed off. "Welcome to hell....."
"Vincent RUN!!!!!!" I yelled. Vincent got up and tried to help me. I shoved him away and made him trip back onto the ground. Jane smirked and cut on the light. I flinched at the painful feeling of the lights cutting on. I squinted and gasped and saw blood all over my hands and clothes.
The floor was red, like paint. The only thing was wrong was the smell. It smelled rotten and a hint of metal flicked and danced in the air. Mean while, Vincent was screaming, trying to get the blood off his clothes, only to put more on him. He yelled at me. "Y/n you dumbass come and help me!"
I sat silent, staring at my blood soaked hands. I looked up at Jane, who smirked at me. "Sorry to play you on like that, y/n, but I had to get the number one most wanted list. Vincent is a killer after all," Jane giggled. "I can send you back to earth and wait for you to screw your life up... Then you'll be in hell, burning with Vincent! HAHAHAHAH!"
Jane's laugh echoed through the small room. She walked up to Vincent and snapped her fingers once. A door opened on the other side of the room. Soon, the room got hotter. Vincent eyes got wider. Mine did too, but I realized what was happening.
Jane walked up to me and lifted my chin. "Hey, don't get sleepy on me now," she whispered. I closed my eyes slightly. My eyes widened as Jane pressed her lips on mine. I took breath as she pulled away from me.
"W-what about Haley and Jackson, you bitch!" I yelled at her. She pressed her lips against mine.
"Someone should rub some soup on your mouth," Jane smirked. Soon, my eyes focused on Vincent. His eyes seemed droopy and sad. They stared at me with sorrow. I stared back at those grey pools of darkness. It hurts.
"Damn you! Let me go!" I growled quietly. She sat there for a moment before pushing my head. I fell backwards into the pool of blood, it soaked into my hair..
"I'll just let you have your little life back," Jane hummed, turning back to Vincent. She snapped and chains appeared around Vincent's arms and neck. He gagged for a moment, but then growled. A chain that connected to the collar appeared in her hand. She tugged at it and walked towards the flaming door. "But it will change..."
The disappeared in the door. It quickly shut behind them....
Narrator's POV
Y/n sat in the blood, staring at the ceiling. He watched as blood on the ceiling dripped onto his face. Y/n sat up onto his knees and stared at his pants. He noticed blood drip down onto his blood stained jeans. "W-what happened...?" he wheezed out.
He felt dizzy. "N-no, not yet..." He fell into the blood floor and dissolved.
