Maybe being back here isn't a good idea. I mean for all I know, SHE is in Vale. I walked down the familiar streets, the ones I called mine since I was a figure of authority. Past all the abandoned places, once restaurants and shops, now empty buildings. My cloak swayed in the wind as my hood shadowed my eyes. My sword on my back was folded and ready. I walked past a club and decided to stop by and quench my thirst.

I walked in expecting to see a living and hyperactive crowd. Not sure you call three unconscious guards and a blondie a crowd. I walked past the blondie and jumped over the counter, grabbing me a bottle of Whiskey and drinking it all at once. I threw the bottle away and I looked at the blondie and the man who was hiding from her. Pussy bitch...

YN:"I see that now isn't a time for talk, so need help?"

The cowardly man nodded. My eyes sparkled a bright (E/C) and my cloak stayed still.  I eyed out the blond troublemaker before drawing my buster sword.

YN:"ESKETIT!!!"

YN:"Im sorry I walked in on... whatever the hell this is, but i must say. That is no way a lady should act"

I smirked slightly as the blonde grew angry at me. Seems like her attitude is something she doesn't anyone to comment on. She reminds me of someone...

Blonde:"How about you leave this to me and go back to whatever dumpster you crawled out of."

Her eyes turned to red as her hair flowed bright...er. What the fuck is brighter than bright yellow?

I dashed at the girl and sheathed my sword. She expected a slash from me, but knowing what she expected made me change my move. As I got close to her I threw a left hook, connecting with her face. She was sent out of the window and into the street.

YN:"Say, I think you look better sitting out there than in here."

Blonde:"Why you-"

???:"ENOUGH!!"

A loud voice boomed through the night. A crash was heard not far from our location as we both looked towards where the sound was coming from. Curiosity got the best of me as I started to walk towards the noises. I was unaware of the blonde following me, watching me my moves. I could feel her eyes watching me, but not just hers though...

???:"You dare come and fight me!!!!"

I rounded a corner to see a young boy with blue hair having a match on Tekken with Faunus boy.

YN:"waste of my time..."

I walked away only to bump into the blonde girl that was following me. Because of me bumping into her, we fell down on to the concrete footpath. I looked up to see her sitting on the floor as well. When she looked up, she seemed...shocked?

Blonde:"You...You're Rubys dad!! Summer Roses l-mmmm"

I covered her hand quickly and looked into her eyes with a glare that could melt Salem. Ruby's father? That means Summer was... I left behind an innocent girl with a fucked up mother. Great job (YN). Great job...

She pushed my arm away and kept looking at me. My (EC) pierced her soul as my hair hung low over my face. I stood up dusting myself as she stood up too. I walked off with my hands in my pockets as I put my hood over my head once more. The girl got up and followed me. I guess she wants some answers... and frankly... so do I.

YN:"How do you know this 'Ruby'?"

Yang:"I'm Yang. She's my half sister... or something since now we don't have the same dads."

YN:"Who are you're parents?"

Yang:"Tai Xiao Long and Raven Branwen"

YN:"Tai...made you?"

Yang:"Yeah...hehe."

YN:"Fuck you must have your mothers genes, because he was an UGGGGG-LYYYY Motherfucker growing up."

I could see Raven in her. I guess it makes it easier to relate to her then. Seeing an old friend in somebody. Yang laughed at this but soon frowned. I could see something was wrong. She had the look Raven gave us when something personal was happening.

YN:"Yang...what's wrong?"

Yang:"Could you come? You know, meet Ruby and Summer?"

I stood there thinking about this. I don't ever want to see Summer again...but I have a daughter. I can't just leave my daughter. I mean sure, I haven't been there the whole time, but I didn't know!

Yang looked at me eagerly, clearly wanting to fix the bonds between the family. I looked at her and gave her my final decision.

YN:"Of course...

Not"

Yang:"WHAT?!?!"

YN:"Yang, I remember Tai, I remember Raven, I remember Qrow, but I try not to remember Summer. There's things I would like to leave in the past."

Yang:"But what about the family?"

YN:"Blood makes you related...loyalty makes you family."

With that, I disappeared into the dark alleys of Vale. There is no reason for me to stick around. Things are already getting to heated for me and it's my first night back.

YANG POV

I ran back to Beacon as fast as I could. I couldn't believe I had found Ruby's father. I ran past Weiss and Blake and ran right into the dorm. There sat Ruby with Zwei trying to feed him a cookie.

Ruby:"Yang? You ok there?"

Yang:"Ruby I-*pants*-found your-*wheeze*-"

Ruby:"My what Yang?"

Yang:"Your father..."

Ruby stood up and looked at me frightened and shocked. Her hands trembled  as she started to shake

Ruby:"D-Don't joke with me Y-"

Yang:"I'm being serious Rubes. I met him. He's in Vale."

Ruby:"I-I don't know what to do."

Yang:"How about you go find him?"

Ruby:"Yang. I've never met the man. He could be lying for all I know."

Yang:"He's got the same weapon that Summer described. I saw it."

Ruby:"It could be a coinci-"

Yang:"Do you want to see your father or not? Times ticking Ruby."

Ruby:"I guess. But what if he doesn't want to se-"

Yang:"You know what? Shut up we're going anyways."

I forcefully dragged my younger sister out of my room as she resisted. She threw excuses at me trying to not see her father but it was pointless. She's gonna meet him... she has to.

YN POV

Vale's gone to shit. I mean it may not seem like that on the surface, but if you look close enough, you can see how it's changed over the last years. My hood still covered my eyes as I looked over the city. My eyes darted across the city, scanning everything. All the crimes. Something big is happening. I can feel it, but since when do the White Fang have the balls to come out and steal dust?

KAAAAAWWWWW

I looked up to see an eagle fly over me. I raised my hand and waved at it before it flew down on my shoulder and dropped a scroll in my hands. It flew off into the night, leaving me with the device. It turned on and a hologram of someone appeared.

YN:"How are those augments coming?"

Marcus:"Pretty good. Jensen says he's gonna help me control it. But shit, both my arms and legs, augmented."

YN:"It'll be fine."

Marcus:"I know but that's not why I called you."

YN:"What is it?"

Marcus:"We both know the ARC isn't what it used to be, but they're working with the WhiteFang. Well, some are. They're planning on looking for you. Someone sold us out and are looking for you. The bait to draw you out is Beacon."

YN:"What are they planning?"

Marcus:"I don't know, but I think you need to stay there and fend off an attack if it happens or to make sure it isn't infiltrated. But you can't do it yourself. I teamed you up with an old friend."

YN:"Who?"

???:"Who do you think, kid?"

Shit... of all people. I turned to see the drunk bastard smiling at me. Qrow...still trying to pull girls half drunk. I smiled and shook my head, chuckling at him.

YN:"Looks like we're gonna stop an attack."

Qrow:"Damn right we are."

I looked back to Marcus as he waved and turned off the scroll. I dropped the scroll and smashed my foot on it. No evidence needed to be left. I made my way across the city roofs with Qrow.

Qrow:"So (YN)... you gonna see Summer?"

YN:"Fuck no"

Qrow:"What? Why?"

YN:"Nothing to be said, nothing to do. I know about Ruby Rose, but I only would like to meet Ruby"

Qrow:"You're gonna have to face her man, I made a promise."

YN:"Wha-"

Darkness...

Time skip. The following morning

I opened my eyes slowly as I found myself in a house. I sat up off the couch and saw that I was still clothed, with a blanket and pillow. On the table before me was a plate of pancakes and some coffee.

???:"Eat up. You need the energy."

I turned to the kitchen to see Qrow. I grew angered at him as I stood up and lunges at him catching him off guard and knocking him down.

YN:"WHERE...AM...I?!"

Qrow:"At...Summers house."

YN:"WHAT?!" Why would you bring me here since you know that-"

???:"You're back."

We both looked at doorway to see Summer standing there with Raven and Tai. They looked at me shocked as I stood there angry. I calmed down as I straightened up and gave a blank stare towards them.

YN:"I didn't want to come back here..."

Summer:"But you're here...please stay."

YN:"No...there's nothing for me here."

Summer:"But you hav-"

YN:"Ruby? The kid I didn't know about. My daughter I left with an immature girl. I know."

A girl with red and black hair popped out behind them with Yang. She had silver eyes and was pale.

???:"D-Dad?"

Dad? That's Ruby? She's not what I expected her to look like.

YN:"Y-You're R-Ruby?"

Ruby:"Y-Yes."

She cautiously walked up to me. As she did, she looked down and I could only examine her. She got up to me and looked up.

YN:"Hello Ruby. It's nice to finally meet my daughter."

Ruby could only cry before hugging me. I slowly hugged back as I rubbed her back. I felt like shit...leaving her here.

Ruby:"I-I never knew you existed. I-I...Hi."

She laughed and cried at the same time from being speechless. I let go as I looked at her.

YN:"Well I cant say you're a little girl can I?"

Ruby laughed and shook her head. I walked and sat down on the couch eating the breakfast before me. I sat there being bombarded by questions, which I simply gave a nod or shake of my head. As I ate, the tv was turned on as the news came on.

Reporter:"This just in, Interpol has revealed that they will be merging with Atlas as an effort to improve the trust between the lands. More news will be on this shortly."

I looked down and wondered...What's Interpol doing at Atlas? They're supposed to be here with Beacon.

We all looked back up to see the TV was static, with a strange voice coming through.

???;"(YN) (LN)! You must leave! They're here and are hunting you down! The ARC is here."

I stood up and looked out the window to see ARC soldiers getting out of trucks. There were at least 50 of them.

YN:"How'd they find me?"

Summer:"The ARC? What do they want with you?!"

YN:"I don't know but we gotta go."

We all left through the back and vanished into the Emerald Forest and kept running. I lost track of the others, but I kept running. My lungs started to burn as sweat dropped down my head. I kept running and looked back for a split second before running into someone.

YN/???:"AHHH!"

I opened my eyes to see myself on a woman...I woman I recognised as my wife. It was my wife Annie. (yes it's Annie from AoT. I mean cmon, she mighty fine. Wink wink)

YN:"Annie?!"

Annie:"(YN)?! I found you! Oh I though I lost you."

YN:"Why?"

Annie:"Marcus called and told me about you going dark and then ARC showing up."

I got up with her and ran, her hand in mine. The shouting from the soldiers grew louder and they were scrambling. I ran and ran until I was pulled into a cave by an arm. I looked to see it was the rest of them. Ruby, Yang, Summer, Raven, Tai and Qrow. I sighed and hid with them as the soldiers ran past us.

As time passed they gave up and left. We left the cave as we were all relieved that the ARC hadn't found us. We all looked around before I realised all eyes were on Annie.

Qrow:"Uhhh, dude. Who's the chick?"

I scratched my head nervously as I looked at hem.

YN:"Guys, this is Annie (LN). My wife."

Their jaws dropped as I stood there with her hugging me. But anything can happen... so I am always following a rule...

Watch out for thorns. Anything can be a thorn in your side.

I guess this is their thorn. Stabbing them and ruining their plans... I know what they want. But they should know since they're Roses...

Always be wary of thorns.
