It's Tuesday night and time for NXT, with the Rumble around the corner many of the WWE fans are wondering what NXT talent are going to be making a Main Roster appearance at one of the most popular PPV's of the year, and with Hunter in charge of it this year, who know's what's gonna happen.

What is going to happen though is Grayson Waller will be on the Main Fight card with one of the best in the business, Y/n L/n, Y/n has made his way to Orlando and walked through the front door of Full Sail where he smiled to the pure nostalgia around him.

Y/n's been part of the WWE now for near 13 years now, he first stumbled through the doors of WWE when he was 20 Years old, joining Randy Orton's team, Legacy, Y/n's a third Generation Superstar from Kansas City, his father and grandfather both wrestled, Y/n didn't want to be the one to ruin that streak and followed in their footsteps, it worked out perfectly for him because he's now a 12x World Champion, not including the other titles he's won throughout his career so far, but it's needles to say that the H/c haired man from Kansas has a Hall of Fame career already.

Shawn: Y/n!

Y/n smiled to an old friend and teacher of his, Shawn Michaels, Y/n was so lucky when he first got to the WWE because he had so many greats to learn from, even The Undertaker taught him to do that front flip clothesline he used to do.

Y/n: Shawn. It's good to be back.

Y/n agreed to be part of this story because he has nothing going right now, he was supposed to be in the US title picture with Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins against Austin Theory but they all agreed that 4 of them would be a little too much, so he agreed to sit on the sides till something new came up and since they think Grayson has what it takes, Y/n wanted to see for himself.

Shawn: Only for a few weeks but you just being here will boost everything...

Shawn then showed Y/n his locker room for the next few weeks, yes, he get's his own one, he's Y/n L/n that's why, anyway, they talked through the plans for tonight, just some words being exchanged between him and the Aussie, it will lead to fist being thrown but nothing too crazy, so after filling him in, Shawn was about to leave before turning back to him.

Shawn: Oh, two things...

Y/n looked up from the bench to Shawn as he was sitting on, he's just putting a few things in here to keep over the weeks, so he doesn't have to travel with so much stuff, it's easy thinking and makes his life easier.

Shawn: ... Go easy on him and Kacy's here.

Y/n looked down with a nod and a small smile, he first met Kacy when she was doing Ninja Warrior, he was a pretty big name on the Main Roster at the time, so when they met in the gym, she was about to drop the bench press bar but Y/n was quick and helped her, she thanked him and asked him to help her out with the rest of her workout, she was pushing her limits and her usual spotter canceled on her, Y/n was happy to help and they started dating shortly after that.

It lasted for about 2 years though and they broke up in 2018, she wanted to get married and have a family, Y/n wasn't ready for that sorta stuff though and it caused a rift between them, Kacy had to do what made her happy though and found someone who would give her those things, at least the marriage part.

Y/n: Thanks for the heads up.

Shawn gave him a fist bump then left him alone to get sorted, Y/n though just sighed and ran his hands over his face and through his H/l hair, he really hated that he didn't give her what she wanted, he was never great with relationships but she was special and they worked, now she's married and Y/n's lost his chance.

Y/n: Just get through this. It'll be fine, you probably won't even see her, it's a big building.

Y/n didn't actually believe his own little self pep talk but what other choice did he have, he has a job to do and really needs to focus, what he didn't need was to see her down the hall as soon as he left his locker room...

... She stopped when she saw him and her friend, Kayden Carter, looked to where she was looking, Kacy smiled and jogged over to him wrapping her arms around him in a hug, he's a big reason she's here because when they were dating he showed her what it was like to be with the WWE.

Kacy: Y/n! How are you?

She asked letting go of the hug, Y/n smiled to her and gave her the usual small talk, Kacy introduced him to Kayden, her best friend which he was happy to meet, Y/n was always a nice guy and put others before himself.

Y/n: ... You look good.

Y/n smiled to her again, she had to look up to him because of her much smaller frame, Y/n always did like the smaller women, he's not sure why but something about women around the 5 foot mark is hot to him.

Kacy: You too.

It was now her time to smile as Kayden just watched them with a smile, it's clear they still care about each other, even Stevie Wonder could see their chemistry but neither of them are going to do anything about it.

Kacy: So, what's new with you?

It got to the point where it was a little awkward between them, clearly the tension is still there and they are both feeling it, Y/n though just let out a deep sigh while shrugging a little, his hands sightly in his pockets.

Y/n: Well, I took you're advice about growing up. I bought a house and a dog.

Y/n stated like it was something to be proud of, the 33 year old always seemed to struggle with accepting responsibility, also with commitment, something he doesn't seem all to bothered with now.

Kacy: Wow, look at you, all adult and what not.

They both seemed to chuckle and smile to the playing around, Kayden watched with raised eyebrows, arms folded and a small smirk on her face, these two really need to just fuck and get it over with.

Y/n: I gotta get going. It was great seeing you again.

Y/n went to walk away after a small wave but Kacy went for a hug, Y/n then went in as she pulled away, then they went back and forward again for a couple seconds till they settled on a small hug, Kayden sighed as Kacy watched him walk away, the sigh caught Kacy's attention and she turned to her friend.

Kacy: What?

Kayden just shrugged a little while shaking her head slightly, the tension between them could have been cut with a chainsaw, Kayden told her that but Kacy just waved it off, telling her that Y/n was special, the one in a million, then Kayden wondered.

Kayden: So why'd you leave him?

Kacy looked back to the direction Y/n left in and remembered, he didn't want to get married and she did, she wanted to get a house of their own, maybe some pets but he didn't, now he's done all those things, she can't just leave her husband like that though... Can she?

Kacy shook those thoughts free though as she and her best friend made it to the Women's Locker room to get ready for the show, on the screen in there, Grayson was already in the ring, the show started a few moments ago and most the girls attention's drew to the screen when he started talking about the future Hall of Famer.

Grayson: ... Where's Y/n anyway? Where is he? He call's himself the Alpha and that this is his den but he hasn't been here for years. He's done, he's washed up. It's time for him to step aside and embrace the Waller Effect...

Grayson stood in the centre of the ring and held his arms out, the crowd didn't like that and boo'd him, the story already has been building over the past couple of weeks with them going back and forward on Social Media, Grayson didn't just start trashing Y/n, he's been harping about how much better he is over Y/n for weeks now.

Grayson went to continue talking and trashing Y/n but he stopped when the big screen turned to a camera outside, everyone in the Locker rooms or the crowd watched the screen as an engine roared getting closure and closure to them until it turned into the car park...

... The car stopped in front of the camera that was a few inches off the tarmac, when the car stopped the camera looked straight at the licence plate, which said "Alpha 1", the crowd cheered the roof off the place as Booker T was losing his mind, the camera moved up as Y/n got out the car...

... He walked into the building with the camera facing him, Grayson however stood in the ring and looked worried calling out to security to stop him before he gets to the ring, Kacy smiled excited to see this, she loved watched Y/n work, he is one of the best at the end of the day, Y/n continued to march through the halls of Full Sail till his music kicked in...

... The crowd once again cheered when Y/n walked out the curtain a mic in his hand, Grayson stood worried in the ring while Y/n walked to the steps and climbed in the ropes without a second thought showing he has no fear for the Aussie, whatsoever, Y/n paced back and forward just like a Wolf stalking it's prey, Kacy smiled while Y/n circled Grayson as he held his hands up trying to talk him down.

Eventually Y/n stopped walking, leaving his back to the entrance, Waller in front of him and the music cutting off only leaving the sound of the crowd, that was until he lifted the mic to his mouth settling them down.

Y/n: "The Waller Effect", you want me to feel the Waller effect. Listen kid the only effect you have on me is nausea...

Y/n was good at making people in the ring feel bad about their characters, it's part of his character, it's who he designed himself to be, Y/n's not a mean guy outside of the WWE so inside the WWE all bets are off.

Y/n: ... So, I came here today to tell you this one simple thing, so listen up. I know how slow you guys from Down under are...

Y/n stepped towards Grayson and saying "Down Under" with a pretty good Aussie accent, Grayson was clearly frustrated by what Y/n is saying to him but it's all part of the script, actually, Y/n's not, he's kind of winning it.

Y/n: ... If you keep running that big mouth of your's. I'll...

Y/n was going to threaten him but instead sighed while letting the microphone fall to his side, he looked around them to the small crowd here in Full Sail, he forgot what it was like to be here, it's been nearly 10 years since he left here and went to the Main Roster.

Y/n: ... Ah, screw it.

Y/n tossed the microphone before slapping Grayson across the face, Grayson sold it pretty well as the crowd cheered for Y/n, Grayson however went back for a right punch but got nothing as Y/n ducked and ran into the ropes behind them, Y/n ran, rebounding off the ropes and speared Grayson to the mat below.

The crowd really enjoyed seeing Grayson get his mouth shut like that as Y/n didn't say anything else, he only got to his feet and climbed out the ring, his music played while he gave a few high fives before walking back through the curtain.

Shawn: Thanks for that Y/n. That's all for tonight, go home. Take it easy and we'll see you next week.

Y/n smiled and the two share a fist bump before Y/n thought about seeing Kacy again, all those good times ran through his mind again, he didn't realise how much he missed her until then, when she left him he was a little angry but now, he just wants her back, luckily for him, he saw her walking down to hall as he was on his way out.

Y/n: Kacy!

She stopped what she was doing and turned to him, she was on her phone, he's not sure what she was doing but he didn't really think to care, he just walked over to her with a smile and took a shot in the dark as she looked pretty happy to see him.

Y/n: Um, it might sound weird. But can we talk... About us?

Kacy wanted to, she really did but she's married, she can't just do that sort of thing with an ex anymore, especially not Y/n but she needed to see if he's really changed or not, if he has, maybe they could have a future together again.

Kacy: Okay, but just to talk.

Y/n agreed and told her he'd be her ride, so Kayden doesn't have to drive her around town, Kacy appreciated that and told Kayden the news, Kacy thought Kayden would have told her not to go since she's married but she actually encouraged it, Kayden saw how happy she was seeing Y/n again, Kacy must really care about him.

So once she got her stuff together she made it to the car park outside where Y/n is waiting for her by his car, it's something to see on Tv but much more intense in person, Y/n opened the passenger door for her and she had no regrets while climbing in, putting her bag in the back and buckling her seat belt, what could possibly go wrong with two old friends having a drink and talking...
