A/N: you and the few other students face the grimm that inhabit the emerald forest.

You were soaring through the air and you were just waiting to land since you didn't feel like flying yourself at the moment unless needed.

Jaune: ahhhh!!!!!!

You saw Jaune still falling helplessly.

(Y/N): I'm sure he'll make the landing.

He was spinning a bit.

(Y/N): okay, maybe I should help.

You flew to Jaune as he was still falling.

(Y/N): I got him.

Suddenly, a javelin got him by his hood and stuck him to a tree.

(Y/N): I don't got him.

You looked and saw he was on a tree, hanging from the javelin.

Jaune: Thank you!

Pyrrha: I'm sorry!

You then and saw Pyrrha Nikos in the distance from another tree. You then turned back to Jaune.

(Y/N): need and help there, Jaune?

Jaune: huh. Oh uh....I'm good. I'll he able to get myself out.

(Y/N): um.....are you that positive?

Jaune: oh yeah, I mean....I totally got this.😅

(Y/N): "sighs" if you insist. I'm not going to argue.

You flew off and landed deep inside the Emerald Forest. You looked around the area to see if anything else was there.

(Y/N): hm.........doesn't seem like anything else is here from here I'm standing. Eh....don't matter. Just focus on find the relic thing and then getting the hell out of here.

You started to walk until a serpentine-like grimm with two heads was slithering behind you. One head was black and the other was white.

It kept slithering closer and closer behind you while you continued to walk. Just as both heads of the beast were about to attack. You turned around and slashed off both of it's heads with a ki blade.

(Y/N): like that would work.

You continued to walk through the Emerald Forest for a while, some of the grimm tried to attack you, but you knocked them aside like nothing.

(Y/N): no wonder they have trouble with these things, they won't stop attacking. But I guess they can't be too much of a problem for everyone else.

You heard weiss yell.

Weiss: Ruby!

(Y/N): seriously, out of all the people I hear to yell for help, it's her?

You headed to the direction of where you heard weiss yelling for help. You started to hear the sound of slashes and growling.

(Y/N): she calls for help, but it sounds like she's holding her own.

You look pasted a push a saw weiss going toe to toe with a Beowolf.

(Y/N): yep.

Weiss dashed forward with her weapon at the Beowolf in front of her, but Ruby suddenly appeared between the two in a blur of rose petals and a swipe of her Crescent Rose scythe, landing a hit on the monster.

Ruby: Gotcha!

You were amazed by her speed.

(Y/N): damn, that's some impressive speed.

Weiss was caught off guard and screamed as she quickly had to stop, swinging the sword in a random direction and creating a line of fire that set a nearby tree ablaze, followed quickly by the rest of the forest around the clearing.

(Y/N): and this is where I need to step in and fix any more mess ups in this.

Ruby was distracted by Weiss' mess-up ans wass barely defended when the same Beowolf scratched at her weapon, knocking the younger girl into weiss.

Ruby: Hey, watch it!

Weiss: Excuse me! You attacked out of turn! I could have killed you!

Ruby: You'll have to try a lot harder than that...

The duo wield their arms as the pack of Beowolves whine and growl around them. However, a few purple beams went right through all of the Beowolves skulls and killed them. Ruby and Weiss looked to the direction of the beams and saw you standing there.

(Y/N): hey.

Ruby: wow.

Weiss: You.

(Y/N): I believe a thank you is more commonly.

Weiss: we didn't need your help. We could've handled them ourselves.

(Y/N): oh, so I guess Ruby is your partner then?

Weiss: wh......what?! I never said that! She was only helping me with a simple problem, that's it.

(Y/N): if it was simple, then couldn't you have handled it yourself?

Weiss: yes, but it would've been much faster if I had a small assistance. Though, it would've been better if it were someone else.

Ruby: Hey. ;-;

(Y/N): whatever, I can't understand you Tsunderes anyway.

Weiss: HEY!!!!

(Meanwhile).

Pyrrha Nikos managed to help Jaune out of the tree and now they were walking through the forest.

Jaune: uh.....tha........thanks back there.

Pyrrha: It was the order I could do to help.

Jaune then heard a noise far away and turned his head.

Jaune: Did you hear that?

Pyrrha: Gunfire. It seems some of our comrades have encountered the enemy.

They keep moving forward with Jaune still staring in the sound's direction as Pyrrha raised a branch to pass by and accidentally releases it right at Jaune's face, flooring him instantly.

Pyrrha: jaune! I'm sorry!

Jaune laughed as he lowered his hand showing a gash from where the wood hit him.

Jaune: It's okay. Just a scratch!

He stood up.

Pyrrha: Why didn't you activate your Aura?

Jaune: Huh?

Pyrrha: Your Aura.

Jaune: Gesundheit.

Pyrrha: Jaune, do you... know what Aura is?

Jaune: Psch! Of course I do! Do you know what Aura is?

Pyrrha smiled at him and started to explain what Aura was.

Pyrrha: Aura is the manifestation of our soul. It bears our burdens and shields our hearts. Have you ever felt you were being watched without knowing that someone was there?

Jaune: Uh... yeah.

Pyrrha: With practice, our Aura can be our shield. Everyone has it, even animals.

Jaune: What about monsters?

Pyrrha: No. The monsters we fight lack a soul. They are creatures of Grimm, the manifestation of anonymity. They are the darkness, and we are the light.

Jaune: Right, that's why we fight them!

Pyrrha: It's not about why; it's about knowing. Understanding dark and light helps us manifest our Aura. Everyone has some of both.

Pyrrha: By baring your soul outward as a force, you can deflect harm. All of our tools and equipment are conduits for Aura. You protect yourself and your soul when fighting.

Jaune: oh, It's like a force field!

Pyrrha: Yes, if you want to look at it that way.

Pyrrha started walking up to Jaune and touched the side of his head.

Pyrrha: Now, close your eyes and concentrate.

Jaune: Uhh... Okay.

Pyrrha smiled and closed her own eyes as well. Her skin soon glowed and her irises shrunk before shutting them again. The two stood there, now with Pyrrha having glowed a faint red and Jaune a bright white.

Pyrrha: For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death.

She placed a hand on his chest.

Pyrrha: I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee.

Pyrrha stopped glowing red and hunched over in tiredness.

Jaune: Pyrrha?

She started to get back up.

Pyrrha: It's all right. I used my Aura to unlock yours, but the energy that protects you now is your own. You have a lot of it.

Jaune: Wow..

(Meanwhile).

Somewhere else in the forest, ren was walking through tall grass befroe coming to a stop. He narrowed his eyes and looked around him while a different kind of serpentine grimm that attacked you before rose up from the grass behind him and quickly surrounded him with its large, hissing body.

Ren adopted a sighting stance as the snake coiled together in front of him and attacked with its long fangs. Ren leaped out of the way, the snake's mouth hitting the ground and instantly came up again to hit him back with it's snout. He landed in a crouch when the serpent encircled him again, and he unleashed his StormFlower before jumping up and firing at the creature. He even managed to kick the snake's snout and slashed at it's head. This angered the beast as it soon tried to flow around Ren and bite him again, but he flipped over it and drove his weapons into it's head. However, the serpent's white head rose up behind him.

Ren: ?!

He turned and looked up at the white head as it launched itself at him. He doded it and landed just in time to see the head slither towards him. As it got closer closer, he ran at it and leapt onto the black head, sliding over it's body and blasting the other head. But Ren was unprepared for the white half to hit him with it's head, knocking him off as he dropped his weapons, and leaving him to merely raise his arms and distantly cry "No!" to the mouth of the black head. He was holding the front fangs of the colossal snake in his hands, glowing a faint, pulsating pink as he gripped the teeth and yanks them from the monster's mouth, causing it to flail away. It attempted to bite him again, but Ren ha spinned to the side and stabbed a fang into it's eye, rotating his arm to deliver a final blow that drived the makeshift weapon into it's skull, which rippled, expanded, and blew apart in a dark mess as it's headless body falls over its fellow creature. Wasting no time, Ren runs right at the white head and finishes it off. After that, he stood atop of the body of his enemy befroe sliding the weapons into his sleeves and brushing them off before a strange animal-like noise is heard above him twice. He looked up and met eyes with Nora, who was upside down.

Ren: I still don't think that's what a sloth sounds like.

Nora pooped Ren's nose.

Nora: Boop!
