Chapter 10 - We Know, We Understand

(LA DE DA DE DA DE DA DE DAYO. LA DE DA DE I FIXED A CHAPTER UP.) (Current note: Why was I like this? Why am I still like this?)

Sephiroth's POV

She did come and she had lit her nose and tail, the sun had set, and she sat down next to me. I looked at her out of the corner of my eye. She was looking out over the frozen lake. I cleared my throat."So, tell me about why you didn't want to go back, not the reason why you can't."I said.

"Sure, I guess. I haven't... Ever told... Anyone this...

"When I was born... I had three siblings, Yang, Stride, and Earth. And our mother, Jessica, had loved us, so did our father, Allen, for the first couple weeks... Then he started to yell, at our mother and us, more frequently. It just kept going downhill.

"After a year, Allen moved out leaving Jessica with us. All went normally from there until about my third birthday. A few days before that, my siblings ran out to play. Allen came back to our den, for me, and Jessica pulled me closer to her. Allen demanded that she give me to him, but she refused. He wounded Jessica and took me. He flew back to his den and dug a basement for me to stay in."She took a shaky breath.

"He... He... Hurt me. And made me pick up the den... And... Hunt, but he let me have barely any food. I ate on hunts. I stayed with him for six months. He gave me a number of scars. One day, as he was about to kill me, I hit him accidentally with an elemental attack, as he said, and I took that moment to escape. And here we are."

She turned her back to me and looked down at her paws and arms. She held one of her paws up to look at it better, high enough that I could see over her shoulder and read what it said. It said 'worthless', she had lots more words on her arms, but she had normal scars beneath her pelt. She let a few tears slip down her cheek, and she stood up and sprinted. I didn't want to follow her, so I flew back to the homeless den instead. I lay down and put my head on my paws, falling asleep. The strange dream came to me again, this time, I got close enough to touch her, and she felt fluffy. This dream had eliminated everything but touch. And I knew, nothing could be this soft. Except... the way clouds looked from the ground. My soulmate would be fluffy and soft. I'd never find this wolf, I couldn't find my soulmate, and I woke up. Yes, you will. She's closer than you think! Aster called singsongingly when I woke up.' Not looking forward to more of this...'
