48: Two-Faced

"WHERE IS that bitch?!"

Robby sighed, "Belle, just—"

"Robby, she assaulted you!" The girl lowered her voice. Despite being filled with rage, she understood that Robby wanted to keep the situation private. Belle shook her head, pacing up and down the hotel hallway, "I'm gonna kill that fucker. What even happened?"

"I got drunk at the bar. Everybody was there, so I figured it would be a good night. Until, I obviously drank too much because I don't remember anything about that night at all." Robby explained quietly, "I woke up in Zara's room. She assured me that she remembered everything, so it was okay that I didn't."

Isabella reeled back her anger, taking a moment to hug the boy tightly. She apologised, "I'm so sorry that this happened to you, Robby."

The boy attempted at a smile, "Can you not tell anyone? Please. It's too soon and..."

"I promise." Isabella nodded, "Zara better be counting her fucking days—"

"Issy?" A familiar voice interupted, and both Isabella and Robby were met with Tory at the end of the hallway. The boy gave a small nod, before walking away to let the girls reunite alone.

"Bye, Robby."

They hugged each other tightly; Tory placing a kiss on her lips, "You're back quickly. How's your Mom?"

"Good," Isabella smiled, "Yeah, she's good." She noticed the familiar frown on Tory's face, the slight wrinkle in her features that appeared when she was distressed. Isabella tilted her head, "What's wrong?"

Tory sighed, "Silver's back."

"Fuck."

"Top eight dojos, welcome to our final group event!" The host announced, "You have all proven yourselves worthy of your place at the top of the leaderboard. And after today, only the best of the best will gain entry into our tournament of champions."

Isabella looked at the leaderboard, praying that she would be fighting Zara Malik. She had never hated somebody so much— Belle wanted her dead for what she did to Robby. However, Belle's plan failed when she was informed that Cobra Kai would be fighting Tempéte De Vipères.

"Each team will face three opponents, determined by random draw in an all-dojo tag team competition!" He continued, "Two fighters in the ring, each from a different dojo. The other ten fighters remain outside, waiting to be tagged in by their teammate. Fighting will be continuous. The first dojo to score three points wins the match."

Isabella spotted Zara from across the room, getting ready to fight. Her eyes shifted from the girl to a Sensei entering the room— Terry Silver. She hadn't seen the man since the situation at his dojo; Belle wondered how everything went wrong as soon as she left for a couple of days.

The win was easy and it didn't take long for Cobra Kai to gain three points. Isabella, Tory, and Kwon had all scored a point for their team, securing Cobra Kai in the next round.

As Tory went to buy them both cold drinks, Isabella was left alone to watch Miyagi-Do lose another round. It ended in an argument amongst the teenagers and it was clear to Isabella that Eli and Demetri didn't trust Kenny, who had flown in to help them try and win. Isabella had gathered that the two boys thought that Kenny was working with Silver, however the argument ended with Robby storming off.

Despite telling Tory she would stay where she was stood, Isabella wandered off to follow Robby. Though, on her way towards the boy, Isabella heard a familiar voice... she stopped walking.

"What's up, my Karate Squad?" Zara smiled in her fake high-pitched voice, "All the way to the quarterfinals, and the Queen of Karate is still undefeated. What's my secret? All day, I work hard..."

Isabella turned around to face her, her face hot with anger.

"But at night, I play even harder." The girl gave a smile to Belle; she frowned curiously, laughing, "Sorry, do you want my autograph or someth—"

And suddenly, without thinking, Isabella snatched Zara's phone out of her hand. She pulled the phone away from the girl's reach, talking to the hundreds of people watching her Live Stream,

"Zara's secret is she's a two-faced bitch who doesn't give a fuck about anyone, unless they're too drunk to remember."

"Stop," Zara snapped, grabbing at her phone and pulling it from Belle's hands, "Give me that!"

Isabella let her take the phone, mainly because she needed her hands free to shove Zara back. Belle argued, "You wanna start shit—"

"Enough!"

Sensei Kim arrived at the scene, stepping between the two girls. The woman glared at Isabella, before gesturing for Zara to leave. Belle attempted to storm after the girl, though Sensei Kim placed a firm hand on her chest to push her back,

"I am tired of all this off-the-mat nonsense." She snapped, "You need to focus. Hey—"

Isabella reeled back her rage, as she stopped glaring at Zara as she walked away. She looked at Sensei Kim, breathing heavily, "I am focused!"

"Watch your tone." Sensei Kim spat, "Cobra Kai is against Tiger Strike now, and you will not ruin this for our dojo. Is that clear?"

"Sensei, no offence, but I've been scoring us most of the points." Isabella mused, watching the woman scowl at her.

The announcer called out, "And now! Tiger Strike will face Cobra Kai!"

Sensei Kim, with a firm hold on her shoulder, led Isabella towards the mat. The girl met with her dojo, before she met eyes with Tory; the girl was confused,

"Hey, where'd you go?"

"Uh," Isabella spluttered, lying, "I was, uh, finding the restroom."

Tory's expression was filled with concern, though she nodded anyway, "Okay."

Yoon had started in the ring, fighting a student from Tiger Strike until he had tagged Tory. Though Tory was distracted; Isabella knew that the girl was concerned about something. Tory couldn't stop her eyes from meeting Isabella's, almost as if her mind was racing with thoughts and worries every second.

Isabella repeated, watching as Tiger Strike earned their second point, "Tag me in!"

Though, Tory was getting thrown over the shoulder of a student before slamming down onto the mat. The student sent their fist straight into Tory's stomach: the third point.

"Tiger Strike, winner!"

Isabella rushed towards Tory, offering a hand to help her to her feet. Isabella asked, "You okay?"

"Yeah, fine." Tory was frustrated. She walked off the mat, leaving Isabella to follow her towards the locker rooms.

Isabella closed the door behind her, watching as Tory drank some water on the wooden bench to catch her breath. Belle paused, cautious, "You did great, Tory. I think that—"

"You applied for Keck's med school." Tory blurted out suddenly, staring at her in confusion and almost betrayal.

Isabella stood in front of her, her heart dropping to her stomach, "What? Who told you?"

"I already knew. I saw it on your laptop." Tory said quickly, "And your brother told me a few hours ago."

"Fucking Miguel," Isabella muttered in frustration, "What did he say?"

"He told me to talk you out of it." The girl replied, "And I was going to anyway, when you decided to tell me. But it seemed like you were keeping it a secret."

"What?" Isabella frowned, "That's not true—"

"So, when were you gonna tell me?"

"When I got in." Isabella shot back, "If I got in."

Tory shook her head, her voice calm, "Why'd you even apply, Issy? You didn't want to go to college."

"I do!" She raised her voice suddenly, "Why do you care anyway?"

Tory was taken by surprise at Isabella's abrupt emotion change; she reasoned, "Because I'm your girl friend, Issy. I care about you, and I don't want you going to Med school—"

"Why not?" Isabella argued.

"Because my mom dying wasn't your fault!" Tory stood up, exclaiming, "Issy, you can't live the rest of your life trying to repay for something that had nothing to do with you."

Isabella frowned, "You don't get it! I want to go to Med school, and if you didn't know that then you clearly don't pay enough attention—" That was a lie, though Belle found herself out of options for defending her actions.

"That's not fair." Tory shot back, "You know how much I love you." She stepped closer, her voice soft and gentle, as she reached to cup Belle's face, "Come on, Issy. Why are you doing this to yourself?"

Isabella stepped back, pulling away, "I want to be a Doctor."

"I want you to be happy," Tory retorted, tears in her eyes, "And I'm sorry that my mom's death has made you feel like this. But, Issy, it wasn't your—"

"It was my fault, Tory!" Isabella shouted, "I could've carried on doing CPR, but I didn't. That was on me!"

Tory was crying now, "She was never coming back, Issy. She was always sick. Don't you understand that?" She added, "You're not going to Med school."

Isabella frowned, "Don't tell me what to do, Tory." And because she knew she was losing this fight, Isabella stormed out of the locker room and returned to the mat.

"Next up! Miyagi-Do VS Cobra Kai, whoever wins this match advances. Whoever loses is eliminated!"
