22: Typhoon

"SHE'S NOT worth it," Isabella rolled her eyes, as she walked along the waterpark with Miguel and Hawk. She added, "Did you give her that necklace?"

"No," Miguel replied, "I didn't have time. Sam had already broke up with me, so I just left."

Isabella scoffed, "You should've screwed up that necklace and shoved it up her fucking ass. She doesn't deserve you."

"I second that," Hawk agreed, before added, "Speak of the Devil."

Isabella followed Hawk's eyes towards Sam and her friends, who were sunbathing. The girl bit the side of her cheek, before attempting to storm over to Sam.

Miguel stopped her, pleading, "Don't do anything, Belle. Please. We said we're just gonna be friends, and I'm okay with that. Please!"

"Okay, fine." Isabella sighed, "I'm gonna find Robby, he said he was gonna be here."

"Robby?" Miguel repeated, almost hurt.

"Migs, you know we've always been friends." She explained, "Yes, I used to hate his guts for what he did. But, he's always been there for me, okay? Plus, Johnny said you need to work things out with him."

"No, thanks." Miguel replied, "I'll see you later, yeah?"

Isabella met up with Robby and, after sliding down the same slide multiple times, they decided to venture to the other side of the park. Robby stopped walking, looking into the distance and smiling, before he turned to Isabella,

"I've just seen Tory," He explained, "I'm gonna talk to her and then we can go on that Typhoon— Hi, Tory!"

"I've missed you," The girl replied, ignoring Isabella completely as she kissed Robby for a while. They're still dating? Isabella thought it was just a prom thing. Tory added, "How was Mexico? Hit up the beach with your dad?"

"It was good," Robby smiled, glancing at Isabella, "It wasn't that kind of trip, was it, Belle?"

Isabella nodded, avoiding eye contact with Tory. Since her sudden fear of fighting, Isabella has been weirdly calm, resisting the urges inside of her to pick fights because she knew she wouldn't be able to finish them.

Robby added, "Look, uh, I've been thinking for a while now, and I was wondering if you'd consider taking a break from Cobra Kai?"

Tory frowned, glancing at Isabella as if this was her idea, "What are you talking about?"

"Kreese got sent to jail, but he's not half as bad as Silver." Robby exclaimed, "Now's the time to get out before things get worse."

Tory shot back, "I can't just quit."

"Well, if I can do it, you can do it." Robby encouraged, "Silver is gonna get inside of your head, and then—"

"Robby, I'm glad you and your dad worked out some of your shit." Tory interrupted, "If you wanna leave the dojo, that's on you. But don't tell me what to do."

"Okay." Robby took a breath, "We we're gonna check out that Typhoon, if—"

"I'm not actually feeling it, anymore." Isabella blurted out, "I'm gonna go and find Miguel."

"What's wrong?" Tory teased, "Can you not handle the five-story drop?"

"Sorry to let you down, Tory," Isabella shot back sarcastically, "I didn't know that your obsession with me had gotten so bad that you've resulted in following me around a waterpark."

Tory stepped forward in frustration, but Robby stood in between them both. The boy rolled his eyes, "Can you both have a day off? Seriously, we're here to have fun."

Isabella scoffed, "Have fun with your girlfriend, then. Nobody's stopping you."

"Jealous, much?" Tory retorted, and Isabella had no choice but to walk away. She wasn't jealous.

"Tory, don't—" Robby sighed, "Belle!"

As she made her way towards Miguel, Isabella was distracted by a group of teenagers piling donut-floaties onto Anthony LaRusso. She noticed Kenny, a boy in Cobra Kai, kicking the boy into the pool as he floated down the stream. Despite the feeling of hatred she had towards Sam, she couldn't just stand back and watch them torment her brother. Isabella took a breath, before walking over to the group,

"What the hell was that?"

"None of your business." Kyler laughed.

"Well, I'm making it my business." Isabella shot back, "You're 17, Kyler, do you not have anything else to do other than bully children?"

Kenny scoffed, "Who do you think you're talking to, Runner-Up?"

"At least I placed somewhere." Isabella retorted, "Where'd you place, Kenny? Oh, that's right, you got your ass kicked by Robby... so you didn't place."

Kyler shoved her back, causing Isabella to storm towards the boy angrily...

"Hey, hey, hey!" Suddenly, Tory was between Kyler and Isabella, placing her hand on her chest to slowly guide her back. Tory warned, "Back off!"

"Stay out of this." Isabella frowned, watching as Tory removed her hand from her chest, "Weren't you staying with your boyfriend?"

"What's the matter?" Kenny provoked, "You scared I'm better than you? Runner-up."

"Hey, enough." Tory glared at Kenny. She looked at Isabella, "Unless you wanna get your ass kicked, I suggest you stay on your side of the park. Away from us."

"I wouldn't wanna be on your side of the park, anyway." Isabella faked a smile.

Tory blurted out, "Good,"

"Good." Isabella repeated.

Kyler added, "Are you really gonna take that? From Crackhead?"

"Hey!" Tory scolded the boy.

"What'd you call me?" Isabella gritted her teeth, walking towards the boy, her blood boiling with rage. She shoved Kyler, "Say that again. Go on!"

Don't start a fight. You're on probation. Breathe, Isabella. She told herself, as she took a step back in surrender.

Kenny laughed, "Are you a pussy?"

"Breathe," Isabella muttered to herself.

Kyler scoffed, "Huh? Is that what they told you to say at anger management—"

Isabella opened her eyes, glaring at the boy. How the fuck did Kyler know about anger management? Maybe it was just a very lucky guess. Suddenly, Isabella impulsively punched Kyler around the face, shaking the pain away from her hand afterwards.

"Hey, stop!" Tory stepped in between them, placing a hand on Isabella's chest to guide her back.

She froze angrily, as Kyler stumbled backwards. Isabella noticed his clenched fist and his bleeding nose; he pushed Tory out of his way. He was gonna punch her. She couldn't fight back. She'd lose. She couldn't fight, anymore. She couldn't win! She couldn't breathe—

Suddenly, Kyler punched her around the face, causing her to collapse onto the wet floor. Her eyes widened at the droplets of blood that hit the floor rapidly. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Isabella froze on the floor, as Kyler kicked her in the back. Again and again.

"Kyler, enough!" Tory defended.

Suddenly, the whistle blew from the distance, causing Kyler and his friends to disperse before they were caught. Isabella stayed frozen for a moment, before cautiously standing up from the floor. She didn't expect for Tory to still be there,

"Hey, he had no right to call you that. He's not worth it," Tory said, "Where's your brother?"

Isabella frowned at her in confusion: why was she being so nice? It confused her. She replied, through tears, "Leave me alone, Tory."

Isabella ignored the kids that gave her weird looks as she walked away; she was too busy listening to the high-pitch ringing in her ears to worry about the amounts of blood dripping from her nose.

"Belle!"

Isabella turned around to meet with Robby, who's expression faded when he saw the blood dripping down her chin. Robby rushed towards her, pulling his t-shirt off and using it as a tissue to wipe the blood from her face, "What the hell happened?!" He guided her to an empty sun-bed, before sitting her down on the end of it and sitting opposite to her. He repeated, wiping away the blood on her face, "Belle, what happened?"

"He called me a crackhead." She muttered.

"What?" Robby insisted, "Who?"

"Kyler," Isabella mumbled, a tear falling down her cheek.

Robby asked curiously, "Was he the one that hit you? What happened?"

Isabella shrugged, "I couldn't fight him back." Robby gave another confused expression; she paused, "Ever since the All Valley, I'm scared to fight."

"Why are you scared?" Robby asked curiously, "Belle, you're one of the best karate students in the Valley."

She lowered her voice, "I didn't win, Robby."

"It's just a tournament," Robby reassured, "I didn't win, either, and I know I can fight. What happens on the day of the All Valley doesn't determine the rest of your life, Belle."

"I know," Isabella nodded, "But, every time a fight breaks out, I have this feeling that I won't be able to defend myself. My body freezes and I forget how to breathe."

Robby's expression changed in realisation, "Like what happened in Mexico."

Isabella stayed silent, as Robby wiped her bloody nose with his screwed up t-shirt. He placed his bloody t-shirt next to him, looking at Isabella who sat opposite him; her eyes gazing into the distance and watching strangers have fun with their friends. Isabella thought about how most of these teenagers were normal: they didn't have to take medication to fix the chemical imbalances in their brains, they didn't struggle with regulating their emotions, they didn't get treated like a baby.

Isabella blurted out, but she kept her eyes on the chaos of the waterpark ,"Hey, Robby?"

"Hey, Belle." The boy matched her tone, and Isabella could feel his curious eyes on her face.

Isabella refused to look at him; her voice soft, yet hurt, "Do you think I'm weird?"

"Definitely." The boy mused, a smirk beaming ear-to-ear.

"I'm being serious," Isabella finally looked at him, and Robby's smirk faded into a sympathetic look. She repeated, "Am I weird?"

"Yeah, but so what?" The boy shrugged reassuringly, "Everybody's weird."
