She was losing the grip on her sandals but she can't let that stop herself from running faster. She had to get through this; she can't get herself trapped; she had to do it.

Panting heavily with no time to even wipe off her beads of sweat, she increased her pace without looking back, her heart beating so loud and rhythmic that she could hear it even in so much tension.

As she stopped to take a deep breathe, she felt someone tap on her shoulder and a piercing scream escaped her throat.

"Safina, safina!"

"Ammi!" She shouted with all her strength.

"Safina!" She felt someone slapping her arms and immediately opened her eyes, and Fariha sat beside her on the bed and switched on the air conditioner whilst wiping off her sweat in forehead.

"Kya hua? (what happened?)" Fariha asked, worry lacing her tone as she tried to gauge her daughters expression.

Safina nodded as she inhaled deeply and laid on Fariha's lap.

"Recite  surah alam nashrah, it must be a bad dream!" Fariha said stroking her hair softly.

"Yeah!" Safina mumbled closing her eyes and trying to calm herself as she could still play the nightmare vividly in her mind.

"Get freshen up and pray tahajjud and I will send your suhoor!"

Safina sat up, searching for her dupatta and covering her head she walked off to washroom.

When she came out, Adeel was waiting for her as he placed the tray of  food beside the computer table.

"You okay?"

Safina nodded and toom out her scarf from the almirah and laying the musallah, she stood in front of her creator, feeling utmost peace engulfing her.

"Had your sehri?" She asked after completing her salah and supplication.

Adeel nodded, "No, I thought of accompanying you!"

"Iam in i'tikaf!" Safina reminded him.

"So?" Adeel shrugged. " we aren't wasting time!"

Safina smiled at the sweet gesture of  her  brother as she got up and sat on the chair and they both ate in silence.

"I was missing you in the dining  room!" Adeel said.

"I know," Safina gulped down a  sip of water. " I still can't believe I won't be here next ramdan."

"I will miss our childish banter!" Safina said as a lump formed in her throat.

"Aye, why? Won't you be visiting us after getting married?" Adeel teased.

"I will but I know it will be for a few days!" She smiled, sadly.

"Stop thinking about that and enjoy your stay here!" Adeel said and Safina nodded.

It was a day before ramdan that she had got an alliance and after a week of doing istikhara and getting to know about the prospective groom and his family, Osman agreed for the proposal and they came to see her and with a few formalities she was engaged. Though the engagement ceremony was fixed after ramdan.

She didn't understand why there was a need for official engagement. During the Prophet's (pbuh) time, there wasn't anything like these ceremonies. Its all an innovation and following the non-muslims. She wanted a simple wedding but she didn't know how to articulate her thoughts for no one could understand her except her lord and even if her mother understood her, 'what-will-society-say' would come in question.

In today's  world everything is done to show people and the society. But nobody understand that whatever we do should be done to please our Almighty Allah and not the society.

Searching for the crescent moon as she slowly strolled on the terrace, feeling the coolest of the breeze with a soft smile on her lips as she prayed of everything she had been praying the past 29 days. She was happy that next day was Eid but still a part in her heart ached that the blessed month is gone.

"Booooh!!" She was startled and jumped at the noise, keeping her palm on her chest to calm it.

"Bhaiya!" She reprimanded with a twinkle on her eyes.

"Gotcha!" Adeel beamed, taking a deep breathe and folding his arms against his chest, he joined Safina to search the twinkling moon.

It was after about five mins that they spotted the moon, in all its mesmerising glory smiling at them from the heavens.

"Eid mubarak!" Both the siblings said simultaneously to each other as their lips curled up in a smile and just then Safina's phone rang and she showed him the screen before attending the call with a wink.

"Assalamualaikum Rashiya'a, Eid mubarak." Safina greeted giving a meaningful smile to her brother.

Adeel smiled before walking down the stairs.

"Wa alaikum assalam, Eid mubarak to you too!"

"How are you?" Safina asked.

"Alhamdulillah, but you know how I have been since that day."

"I know, Iam anxious and scared as well, May Allah help us reach the solution to our problem."

"Aameen summa aameen." Rashiya'a replied.

"Didn't tell your brother yet?" Rashiya'a asked after a moment of silence.

"Who?"

"Your brother!"

"Who?" Safina asked in a teasing tone.

"Safi.. why don't you tell me your fiancée's name?"

"Ofcourse, I don't have any problem in that! He is... umar."Safina said as she smiled and blushed to herself at the thought of her fiancée.

"Masha allah, masha allah!" Rashiya'a cooed.

"You know I can't for the love of life take his name!"

"Ahh, I know I know. You and my brother. Ufff!!"

"Okay stop teasing me, bhai is going walnire, I don't know how will be at peace. What if something happens?"

"Rashi, its Allah ta'ala who protect us from any harm. Don't ever forget that Rashipie!"

"I know, but still there's a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach, safi."

"Lets not talk about this on such a blessed occasion, rashi!"

"Its been nagging me like .. I  don't know how to describe." Safina could clearly notice how stressed Rashiya'a was.

"Take deep breathe, think about Adeel bhai!" Safina tried hee best to calm her down.

"How can you be so calm safi, even you are in this situation with me."

"Iam brave, you know!" Safina boasted with a huge grin.

But little did she know Rashiya'a's thoughts will be turning true..

In a nightmare..

Or..

After talking for a while, the two friends hanged the call.
