Island

"We're gonna need a new window." Bebe stared at the open area at the back of the living room that used to be covered by the huge glass window.

It is now the next morning and Bebe and I were cleaning up the mess the robbers and I made last night.

"Yup..." I poured little pieces of glass into the trash can from the dustpan.

"I'm considering leaving it like this," I heard Bebe begin to say. "Just, y'know, get rid of the glass on the edges."

"What? Are you crazy?!" I dropped the dustpan and faced at Bebe, gaping at her. "One of us could fall though there or something can get into our house through there! We can't do that!"

"It's nice... But you're right." She turned around and padded to the front door.

"Where are you going?" I asked Bebe, following her with curiosity.

"I'm going to buy a new window." Bebe grabbed halted in the foyer to grab her keys from the little table that was next to the door.

"I'll come with you." I slid in front of her.

"No, you stay here and clean up the rest of the living room."

"Alright. Bye Bebe." I kissed her on the cheek; Bebe just smiled at me and walked out of the house.

I sighed and got back to cleaning, listening to my favorite Finnish hard metal rock music.

That night, I continued searching for Lance as best as I could through the Internet. But I was getting nothing, as usual.

Bebe told me to go get ready for bed, but I was determined to find Lance. So I stayed up late at night, searching and searching, keeping my sleepy, closing eyes open.

Sooner or later, sleep took over me and I felt myself drifting off from consciousness. Luckily, I grabbed myself back to cognizance, but instead of being in my office, I was on an island.

The island wasn't your typical island that was all tropical with palm trees and perilous, falling coconuts. This island had one huge white building that covered the practically its whole surface. Around the island were small harbours that had many speed boats for transportation.

I stood in front of the tinted, glass sliding doors. I was debating wether I should go through them or not. I was feeling guilty going inside the building. It was like whether I should lie or not. In that case, of course you know that you will feel guilty if you lie. It was exactly like that in this odd situtation. But why did I think that I was going to feel guilty if I walked through those doors? What's so bad about going through them? Maybe...maybe...

Lance. I must go in for him; he might be there.

I walked through the doors with ease. In front of me was a long, white hallway, just like the hallway back when I was escaping that lab. I begin to creep down the hallway as guilt was flooding inside of me.

I shouldn't be here...What's so bad about this, though...?

"Hey, Toosk," a familiar voice greeted from behind me.

I turned around and my eyes widened at who it was. Oh no, you better be kidding me.

And lo and behold was that blond guy, standing about ten feet away.

"What are you doing here?!" I asked harshly.

"Why won't I be here?" the guy asked me back. "I have him."

Then I rushed back to reality, jolting myself awake.

Stupid nightmares. At least it was just a dream.

With a groan, I leaned away from the back of my chair and stared at my computer, which was still turned on; I only slept for ten minutes.

"I better go to bed," I mumbled to myself as I began turning off my computer.

The next morning, I woke pretty late. Nine o'clock is late for me. I got up, got dressed, and walked into the living room, founding Bebe watching the news.

"What's breaking news?" I asked, slipping next to her.

"Apparently, many speed boats at the harbour leaving and never coming back is considered break news to the TV station."

I looked at the TV and saw the harbour with many speed boats bobbing with the small waves and ripples. "Hey, that's the same harbour I..." I quit talking after I knew that it would lead to the explanation of my adventurous adventures at the lab.

"You what?" Bebe asked, looking at me strangely.

I shooked my head. "Nothing." It was the same harbor I landed on after I was in that lab, I finished off in my mind.

Then I got an idea: There are many speedboats at that island I was on and there is a lot of action going on at the harbor that has to do with speedboats and there are many speedboats at that island and the dream I had last time had that blond dude in it and that guy is real, and he says that he has 'him,' which I believe he's referring to Lance and...

"I'll be back." I jumped off the sofa and ran out the living room and through door.

"Wait, Toosk!!!" I heard Bebe shout from behind me; I ignored her.

I drove to the harbour, thinking: I need to go to that island. I need to get Lance back.

I got off the car and entered the harbor easily because the gate was unlocked, since it was daytime. I spotted a person in a speedboat getting ready to take off.

Wait--! I rushed over to the boat and dove into the I dove into the back of it. The person started driving the boat away, not even suspecting someone being in the back of their boat.

But the only problem was: is this person actually going to the island?

Uh oh. I started to have doubts about doing this. This was crazy--insane.

A few painful minutes full of worry later, I felt the boat come to a halt. I heard the person get off the boat. I got up slowly and saw the island with the huge white building in front of me. It was the exact same one as the one in my dream.

Perfect.

I got off and walked up the steps to the white silding door; it was just like my dream.

I took in a deep breath and walked into the building. A white, long hallway stood in front of me.

Ohmygosh...

But then something hit me: I'm gonna meet that dude again. Oh no... But Lance! I'm doing this for him!

With a nod of reassurance to myself, I began to walk down the hallway, searching for a door or Lance; unfortunately I didn't see a door nor him.

"Hey, Toosk," I heard a feminine voice say from behind me.

Filled with bewilderment, I turned around slowly, surprisingly seeing a blond woman standing about ten feet away from me. I had never saw this lady before and yet she knows my name...

"Yes?" I asked her, feeling myself sweat.

"Wanna hang out with me?" She shrugged with a smirk and a wink.

I felt myself grow pale. "I'm busy... Sorry, can't..." I turned around.

"C'mon. It'll be fun," she told me sweetly

"No thanks." I began to saunter away from her.

"No one will know." I heard her heels snap behind me, indicating that she was following me.

"I said that I don't want to. I'm busy," I told her sternly, trying to fight the urge to look at her from behind my shoulder.

"I know you do," she coaxed on.

"No thank you again. Go find some other guy."

I felt her grab my arm and pull me up to her; I was forced to stop walking and stare at her. "Just one time." She gently ran her fingers through my hair.

My eyes stared at her bright blue eyes. What harm can I do if I hang out with her? I just need to be careful, that's all. "Alright." I sighed. "Take me away."
