CHAPTER NINETEEN, big time songwriters

Andi was currently sitting in the sound system room next to her mom, listening to the new songwriters who were working on a song. "So, uh, what's with fanboy and chum chum?" Kendall questioned which made Andi realized that the boys were now in the room with them.

"You got new songwriters, I guess." Andi shrugs, feeling a little hurt that there was new songwriters for the boys since she thought she was working with Gustavo to write songs for them. "Daryl and Jam Box." Andi answered.

Kelly nods, glancing back at the boys. "You're new songwriters."

"Oh." The boys responded in realization.

The six of them let out a scream when Griffin suddenly appeared in front of them, but he was in the recording room. Griffin smiles. "I'm releasing a deluxe edition of B.T.R's album and Andi's album, and I want both of the bonus tracks to have a fresh new sound."

"So, are Daryl and Jam Box Andi's songwriters, too?" Carlos asked.

"Nope." Griffin shakes his head. "She's talented enough to keep on writing her own songs. I like her style."

Andi smiles proudly. She was still not used to getting compliments from someone like Griffin, but she loved it when she did because it made her believe that she was actually really talented. "Thanks, Griffin, I appreciate it. But why do the boys need new songwriters? I thought me and Gustavo were their songwriters."

"Well, that does explain why Gustavo is pouting." Logan realized. He and the boys looks over at Gustavo who sat on the couch with his arms crossed and his lips were formed into a pout.

"I'm not pouting!" Gustavo exclaims. "You're pouting."

Andi rolled her eyes. He was clearly pouting. But, she didn't blame him. She was a little upset that the boys got new songwriters, but she wasn't going to show it. She had to act professional, but it was hard not to because she liked the boys and wanted to continue writing songs for them. Though she stayed silent about it, Andi was secretly jealous of these new songwriters.

Andi and Kelly stand up as Griffin walks into the sound system room where they're at. Griffin moves to stand beside where Gustavo is sitting. "Everyone uses other songwriters, Gustavo. Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and Daryl and Jam Box are the hottest songwriters out there."

James furrows his eyebrows. "Aren't they the ones who fight a lot?"

Each of them turn back to the recording room when they hear a piano chord. "The song's called Wings of a Dove!" Daryl exclaimed, kicking Jam Box off the piano bench and everyone winced.

"No," Jam Box gets up. "It's called Love from Above!" Everyone winced again when Jam Box punched Daryl. And that action caused things to get more violent between them.

Andi watches with wide eyes as Daryl mashes Jam Box against the window. Griffin smiles. "This is going to be a great song."

"Guys, heads up! They're coming in!" Carlos exclaimed after noticing the two moving to the sound system room. Everyone besides Griffin panicked and immediately get out of the way while Daryl and Jam Box crash into the room. She let out a surprised yelp, eyes widening as she stepped back. Kendall had instinctively pulled her close to him, shielding her from the chaos that ensued. Daryl and Jam Box continued their brawl, causing a lot of damage to the room. Andi glanced up at Kendall, grateful for his quick reflexes. His protective gesture didn't go unnoticed as she leaned into his side, feeling a mix of adrenaline and relief as the two songwriters continued fighting. Her heart skipped a beat at feeling his arm around her. She felt safe and comfortable in his embrace and found herself wishing that the moment could last forever.

Kendall's breath caught in his throat as he held Andi in his arms. It was such an unexpected moment and he had been acting on pure instinct. He'd always had a habit of being protective, especially when it came to the people he cared about, and he couldn't help but feel a strong urge to protect her from the chaos around them. The adrenaline and relief coursing through him had nothing to do with the fighting and everything to do with the girl in his arms.

Kendall's heart thudded wildly against his chest and his breath was caught in his throat, unable to look away from her eyes. Time seemed to stop as they stared into each other's eyes, neither of them daring to look away. In Kendall's eyes, she saw a mix of concern, relief, and something more profound that made her pulse quicken. Kendall was caught off guard by the intensity of his emotions. He'd always cared about Andi, but in that moment, holding her close amidst the chaos, he felt a rush of something deeper than friendship. His heart raced as he realized he didn't want to let her go.

"Andi," Kendall whispers, his voice barely audible over the commotion around them. "Are you okay?"

Andi nods, her own heart pounding in her chest. She looked up at Kendall, struck by the genuine concern in his eyes. "Yeah," She manages to reply, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thanks to you."

Kendall felt his cheeks flush slightly at her words, his pulse quickening as he struggled to maintain his composure. "No problem, I'm just glad you're okay." He told her sincerely, his tone soft and tender.

"Me too." She replied softly, smiling slightly.

In that moment, the rest of the world faded away and it was just the two of them, lost in each other's eyes. They had never felt such a strong connection with anyone, and they were overwhelmed by the intensity of their emotions. They didn't know what it meant, but they knew that this moment would be forever etched in their memory.

So the fight caused Daryl and Jam Box to be sent to the hospital, they were even still arguing as they were put in the ambulance. Andi couldn't believe arguing even after everything that had happened. It felt surreal to her that the chaos of their fight had led to a hospital trip. She hoped they were both okay and maybe even stop arguing. Though she had a feeling they wouldn't stop arguing.

"Okay," Kelly said, standing in front of Griffin and the boys while Andi and Gustavo stood beside her. "We know that fighting is not the way to write a great pop song."

"Yes it is." Gustavo argued, earning a look of disbelief from Andi and Kelly.

Andi glances at him a raised eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "Really, Gustavo? You think that fighting is a good way to write a great pop song?" She questioned, her voice tinged with doubt.

"It worked for Daryl and Jam Box." Gustavo reminded them.

"Who are heading to the hospital." Andi points out, not convinced that fighting is the way to write a great song. "And still arguing." She added, shaking her head.

"Now, go with them to make sure they're okay. And by 'okay', I mean they don't sue the company." Griffin looked at Kelly, who groaned and looked like she didn't want to, but she did anyway. Andi rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, annoyed by how he thought fighting is a good way to write a song and that he didn't seem to care Daryl and Jam Box were going to the hospital. While she knew it was their own fault for being sent there, she was still worried and hoped they would get better soon. He then glances at Gustavo with a smile. "And you need to find me new songwriters a-s-a now, ones that can write a hit and take a punch." He punched Gustavo's shoulder as he walked past him.

Andi looks at the boys weirdly when she saw they were each smiling at Gustavo and to be honest it looked really creepy. "Can you not do that?" She requested, feeling uncomfortable by the creepy smiles.

"What are you idiots so happy about?" Gustavo asks the boys. The boys didn't say anything and kept on smiling at him. He looks at them weirdly. "Stop. It's creeping me out."

"Me too." Andi admitted, agreeing with Gustavo.

"We want to write a song!" The four boys exclaim, startling Andi. She didn't expect them to practically yell the answer. "Please?" They pleaded, giving him puppy dog eyes.

"No!" Gustavo drawled out in a raised tone, pushing past them to head to his office and closing the door behind them, causing the boys to frown.

Andi glances at the boys sympathetically. "Sorry, guys. I'm sure he'll come around eventually." She tells them, trying to lift their spirits. She pulls her phone out of her back pocket of her jeans when she felt it buzzed, smiling at the message. "Hey, so I gotta go meet my boyfriend 'cause we planned to hang out for awhile today," She looks at the boys with a smile. "But I'll check in with you guys later."

She turns around and starts heading down the hallway. Her eyes widens when the boys stopped her before she even got halfway down the hallway, staring at her with wide eyes. "Boyfriend?!"

"You can't just drop that bombshell and walk away!" Carlos complained.

Andi turns back, a smile playing on her lips at their surprise. "What? You didn't know?" She teased, enjoying the shocked expressions on their faces.

"We wouldn't be looking like this if we knew!" James exclaimed, gesturing to their shocked expressions.

"Who is he? Do we know him?" Kendall questioned curiously, ignoring the ache he felt at the fact she was dating someone else. Did he really lose his chance with her before he even had one?

Andi grins. "You'll find out soon enough."

"Come on!" James whines, looking at her with a pleading expression. "You can't leave us hanging like this."

"Please?" Logan asked, giving her puppy dog eyes. James, Carlos, and Kendall follow suit, the four of them using their puppy dog eyes on her. She sighed heavily, hating it when they used their puppy dog eyes on her.

"Ugh," Andi groans, knowing that she would give in sooner or later. "Fine. Okay, my boyfriend is Jax."

"That guy with a motorcycle? That is so cool." Carlos grinned.

James crosses his arms, raising an eyebrow. "I mean, yeah, it's cool and all, but does he treat you right?" His tone was serious, clearly concerned for Andi's well-being.

Andi smiles fondly, touched by their protectiveness. "Yeah, he treats me great. He's a good guy." She reassured them, feeling a warmth spread in her chest knowing that her friends cared.

Meanwhile, Kendall felt his stomach knot up at the revelation. Jax? The guy with the motorcycle? The upcoming charming and hotshot upcoming musician? Of course, it had to be someone who seemed so cool and popular. As much as he tried to shake the feeling, he couldn't help but feel like he missed his chance with Andi. He forces a smile. "Well, good for you, Andi. Jax seems...Great."

Andi caught the brief flicker of something in Kendall's eyes before he masked it, and her brow furrowed in confusion. Was that...Disappointment? She wondered, puzzled. Why would he be disappointed? Unless...She shook her head, brushing the thought aside. No, there's no way. Plus, she was with Jax and she was happy. There was no sense in dwelling on things that might have been. She clears her throat, snapping out of her thoughts. "Thanks, I'm glad you approve."

The boys exchanged glances before James breaks the silence. "Well, Jax better know he's got four hockey players ready to beat him up if he ever messes up."

Andi laughs, shaking her head at their over-the-top protectiveness. Though she really did appreciate it. It was nice to know that her friends had her back. "I appreciate it, guys. But trust me, everything's good. Now, if you'll excuse me, I really gotta go or I'll be late." She smiled and waved at them, before turning around and walking away.

"I can't believe she's got a boyfriend." Kendall mumbled as they watched her leave, his shoulders slumping. He was clearly disappointed by the revelation.

"Why are you so upset?" Carlos asked in confusion.

"He's clearly in love with her and is upset that he might have lost his chance with her." Logan stated, matter-of-factly.

Kendall's eyes widens, his cheeks flushed a light pink. "I-I, um, I don't know about love, but, uh, yeah, I might have a bit of a crush on her.."

"A bit?" Logan questions with a raised eyebrow. "Dude, you are clearly crazy about her."

Kendall's face flushes more and he shrugs, not wanting to admit that he was right. Though deep down, he knew that he was. "Well, if you like her, then why didn't you tell her?" Carlos inquired, genuinely confused as to why his best friend didn't do so.

"It doesn't matter now." Kendall sighs. "She's with Jax. I've clearly missed my chance."

"But you still haven't told her how you feel." Logan pointed out.

"What good would it do now? She's happy with Jax." Kendall argues, his tone laced with a hint of sadness. "I don't wanna ruin that." He trails off, his voice barely above a whisper, watching Andi walk away with a frown and his heart aching. "I just want her to be happy, even if it's not with me."

****

Andi had a great time with her boyfriend like she always does. Jax was fun, charming, and adventurous, always finding new ways to surprise her. They spent the day riding around on his motorcycle, feeling the wind rush past them as they explored the outskirts of the city. She loved the thrill of it all—the way he made her laugh, the way her heart raced when she was around him, the way she always felt a little dizzy when they kissed. He always knew exactly what to say to make her feel special, and she was head over heels for him.

Jax had a way of making even the most mundane activities feel exciting. Today, they decided to take a scenic ride along the coast on his motorcycle, the wind whipping through her hair and the sun warming her skin. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon together. Her arms were around his waist and her head on his shoulder, enjoying the ride and the company. She was always comfortable around him, and she knew he felt the same way. Their relationship was full of passion and excitement, but also tenderness and affection.

As they pulled into the parking lot of Rocque Records, Jax came to a stop and shut off his motorcycle. Andi reluctantly pulled away from him, missing his touch as soon as she did. They climbed off the motorcycle and removed their helmets, and Jax took her hand in his.

"I had a really good time today." Andi told him with a smile, giving his hand a squeeze.

"Me too, babe. I always have a good time with you, baby." Jax replies, placing a kiss on her forehead. "I'll see you later, okay?"

"Okay." Andi nodded, her smile never ending but her blush was still present.

He cupped her face with one hand and pressed a soft kiss to her lips, pulling away and resting his forehead against hers. He then moved a few strands of her hair away from her face and placed a gentle kiss to her cheek. She blushed at the gesture and couldn't help the butterflies in her stomach.

"Later, gorgeous." Jax winked at her, climbing back onto his motorcycle and putting his helmet on. Andi smiled, biting her lip as she watched him pull away. She couldn't help but sigh dreamily, still feeling giddy from their date.

As Andi walked into Rocque Records, she couldn't help but feel on top of the world. Jax always had that effect on her—making her feel like she was floating on air. Her mind wandered to their date, and a small smile formed on her lips as she thought about how lucky she was to have such a sweet and caring boyfriend.

However, her smile soon faded as she walked into the studio and saw the mess. "What the..." She couldn't believe her eyes. The room was a disaster. Everything was a mess, and the sight left her speechless. Papers were scattered on the floor and furniture was turn over. She never seen this place so messed up before.

"Do I even want to know why this place looks like a tornado went through it?"

Andi looks around the place, wondering where the boys were hiding when she didn't get an answer. She let out a startled scream, putting a hand over her chest when James and Logan appear from hiding behind some chairs they used to block studio 'A'. Her heart pounded in her chest from the sudden scare. James and Logan lower the drumsticks they held at seeing it was only Andi.

"Guys, what the fudge are you doing? You nearly gave me a heart attack!" She complained, annoyed that they scared her.

"Sorry," James apologizes, his expression apologetic. "We didn't mean to scare you."

"Yeah, sorry. We just have, uh, lets say creative differences with the boys. We wrote the better song 'Yeah', that we think we should pick, but they wrote a song called 'Oh' that they think is better which is not!" Logan raised his voice at the last part, glaring over at where Kendall and Carlos were hiding.

Andi looks over when the door of Gustavo's office opens with wide eyes, revealing Carlos and Kendall. "Yes it is!" Carlos argued.

"Not so fast!" James points at Carlos and Kendall, noticing they were trying to leave their hiding place. "You just stay there in Loserville."

"Yeah," Logan nods. "And we're just gonna record the 'yeah' song," He gestures to studio 'A' behind them with a smirk. "In Camp Awesome."

Andi groans, rubbing her forehead. "What did I just walk into?" She wondered aloud, feeling a headache coming on already and she hadn't been back that long. She couldn't believe it was basically a war zone after she left.

"Oh, hi, Andi!" Carlos greets, just then realizing she was there. He furrows his eyebrows at noticing the sloth stuffed animal that was hooked around Andi's neck. It was one of those ones that has velcro on the hands and can hook together. "Cute sloth!" He grinned.

"Where'd you get the stuffed sloth?" Logan asked in confusion.

Andi grins. "Jax won it for me at an arcade we went to for our date. I named him BTR."

At that, the four boys shared a smile and finally the chaos that had ensued since Andi left seemed to settle for a few moments. "You named him after us?" James couldn't help but smile at the fact that she would name her stuffed animal after them.

"Of course." Andi said, like it was obvious. She couldn't help but feel the warmth in her heart knowing they appreciated the gesture.

"Awe." The boys smiled at her, touched by the gesture.

"Okay, enough of the mushy stuff." James stops the sweet moment between friends, getting back to business. "We're in war!"

Carlos groans, glancing at Kendall with a frown. "I told you we should've picked Camp Awesome."

"Well, if you guys get studio 'A' then we get studio 'B'." Kendall countered.

James and Logan just smile at Carlos and Kendall and Andi looks at them weirdly, finding their smiles a bit creepy. "Good luck getting through our hallway." Logan dramatically opened his arms and gestured down the hallway.

Carlos and Kendall stare at him with disbelief. "Your hallway?" Carlos glared at Logan, clearly unimpressed.

"Hey," Kendall chimes in, gesturing to the hallway. "This is no man's-land. There's no rules in no man's-land."

"Then go ahead..." James gestures to the hallway dramatically. "If you dare." He laughed along with Logan before they cut the laughter short to glare back at Carlos and Kendall.

With a yelp, Andi was quick to step out of the way when Carlos and Kendall ran past her to try to reach studio 'B'. The chaos unfolded in a flash, with Andi barely managing to dodge the two as they sprinted past her. She couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all, even as the noise and frenzy escalated around her.

"Are you serious?" Andi calls after them, shaking her head. "You guys are like children!" Her words fall on deaf ears, but she didn't really care. She was more focused on the sloth that had come undone and had fell but she was relieved she managed to catch it in time, hugging it close to her.

****

Andi was now sitting in studio 'A' since James and Logan needed her help. James said that he was having trouble with coming up with something, and that his verbal skills work best when he's charming girls. So, that's why she's sitting on a chair, listening to James sing while Logan stood beside him, looking at Andi with a hopeful expression.

"So, tell me who am I supposed to be? What I gotta do to get you close to me? If I run away tonight, will you follow me? Yeah-Yeah. Yeah-yeah. Yeah-yeah."

James looks at her with a hopeful expression after he sings. "Well?"

"I have to admit that was catchy." Andi nods, impressed by the song. "It's really good." She chuckled when the two boys grin at each other and high five, happy and pleased she approved.

****

James and Logan managed to get the band to come over so they can practice their song. While they did that she went to go check on how Carlos and Kendall are doing. She found them standing in front of studio 'B', staring forward with wide eyes. She waves a hand in front of them to get their attention. "You guys okay?"

"James and Logan just took the band we were gonna use!" Carlos whined.

"We need to find a way to get the band so we can record the 'Oh' song." Kendall said, looking at Andi with a pleading expression.

"Don't," Andi starts, pointing at him since she knew what he was going to do. "Do not use your puppy dog eyes on me."

Kendall pouts. "Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" Carlos joined in with giving her a puppy dog eyed look and she groaned dramatically.

"Fine." She grumbled, pretending to be annoyed but they all knew that wasn't the case. She, Carlos, and Kendall look over a knocked over couch they're hiding behind, watching James and Logan practice with the band. Carlos grimaces. "The 'Yeah' song is good."

"It's okay." Kendall shrugs, not wanting to admit their song was just as good. "But once we get the band, the 'Oh' song is gonna be way better."

Carlos nods. "Okay, how do we get the band out of Camp Awesome?"

Andi was quiet for a moment, but then grins as she came up with an idea. "Just attack them." She blamed the boys for for her sudden descent into their chaotic antics. "We've already crossed into no man's-land, right?" She said with a playful smirk.

Carlos and Kendall share a grin before they look back at her with a grin. "I like the way you think." Kendall commented, before he and Carlos quickly got into position. Andi watched with amusement as they made Viking helmets out of tin foil they found, using symbols as shields and drum sticks as a sword. They jump over the couch with a scream, rushing into studio 'A' and immediately attacked James and Logan. Andi followed behind, wanting to see the fight play out and who would win. She stood near the door, amusement in her eyes though concern were there too. She was worried someone would get hurt and she didn't agree that fighting was the right way to write a good song.

James and Logan were surprised by the attack but didn't back down. Soon, they were fighting back just as hard. as the chaos unfolded before her eyes. Drums clashed with symbols, voices filled with playful yells echoed throughout the room, and it became clear that this wasn't a real fight—more like a battle of sheer ridiculousness. Andi couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity, the boys attacking each other with makeshift Viking helmets and drumsticks.

"Guys, come on! This isn't possibly going to help you write your song!" She tried to call out between fits of laughter. But her voice was drowned out by the loud clamor of "war." She had a feeling this would be awhile.

****

Andi was right. They were still fighting. She even had time to get some popcorn from the nearby the kitchen and return, sitting by the door watching the ridiculous scene unfold before her. The boys had moved to fight in the sound system and she had to admit she was impressed they were still fighting and had not hurt themselves or destroyed anything important. She was surprised Kelly and Gustavo hadn't showed up yet but she was happy she had some entertainment. Suddenly, she was knocked over accidentally as Kendall is shoved through the door. She didn't have any time to get out of the way.

Kendall and Andi land in a heap on the floor, with him hovering over her. He looks down at her, his eyes widening when he realizes their position. He's lying on top of her, his body pressed against hers, and his face inches away from hers. Blush rose in both their cheeks, and Andi felt her heart race from their close proximity.

Kendall swallows, his mind racing as he tries to focus on anything other than how close he was to Andi. He could feel the warmth radiating off her skin and hear the quickness of her breath, and it was intoxicating. He couldn't help but glance down at her lips, they looked so soft and inviting. But he knew that he had to resist. She had a boyfriend who was not him. He tried to ignore the pang of jealousy that ran through him at the thought of Jax and cleared his throat.

"Sorry about that. Um, I didn't mean for that to happen. Are you okay?" He asked, concerned.

"Yeah." Andi breathed out, her heart pounding as butterflies fluttered in her stomach. She wasn't okay. She was far from okay. Her heart raced, and she could feel the heat rising to her face, the proximity of Kendall making her feel flustered in a way she hadn't expected. She knew this wasn't supposed to happen. Kendall was just her friend, and she was with Jax. But in that moment, it felt as though time had slowed, and the chaos of the room faded into the background.

Kendall shifted slightly, his face still inches from hers. He quickly moved to stand up, offering her a hand, but there was a lingering tension in the air. As Andi took his hand and stood up, she caught the way Kendall avoided looking directly at her, his jaw tight as if he was trying to hold himself back. He stepped away from her, the distance between them suddenly feeling too much and not enough at the same time.

"I should, um, get back in there." He muttered, his voice sounding strained.

Andi nodded, not trusting her own voice to speak. She could still feel the warmth of his body pressed against hers and the ghost of his touch on her skin. She swallowed thickly, watching as he went back into the fray. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart and the feelings she couldn't understand. Yes, it was true she might have had feelings for Kendall before, but that was before she was dating Jax. She was happy with Jax. Wasn't she? She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. She couldn't afford to dwell on these feelings, not when her relationship with Jax was finally going well.

Kendall dove back into the battle, but his heart wasn't in it anymore. His mind kept wandering back to the moment he had shared with Andi, the closeness and intensity of it replaying over and over again. He kept glancing over at her, noticing the way she seemed lost in thought, a distant look in her eyes. He tried to ignore the way his heart skipped a beat at the sight, reminding himself that she was taken and he had no right to feel this way. He was just her friend. Nothing more. Even though it hurt to admit, he couldn't deny the way his feelings for her were growing stronger, no matter how hard he tried to suppress them.

"What are you guys doing here?" Andi is snapped out of her thoughts at hearing her mom's confused voice. She glanced over at her mom, who walked in with Gustavo, looking at the band with confusion.

"Working with your new fighting songwriters." The drummer replied, pointing at the fighting boys.

Kelly turns around to look at the boys just as Logan smashed Carlos against the window. Andi winced as the two fell back while James threw Kendall on the couch before he body slammed him.

"How long have they been like this?" Kelly asked, glancing at her daughter with a heavy sigh.

"Honestly, I think they've been like this for most of the day." Andi shrugs, knowing they're been at this all morning. "I was gone for awhile so, I have no idea how long."

"Cute sloth." Kelly comments after noticing the stuffed sloth around her neck. Andi smiles at her and thanks her. But then an angered expression forms on Kelly's face and she walks over to a nearby amp. "Cover your ears." She told each of them, putting on some headphones. Everyone covered their ears while Kelly put the mic she grabbed right up to the speaker making the feedback echo. The boys immediately stopped fighting at the loud sound and screamed, falling to the ground.

Andi grimaces, pulling the headphones off her head and placing them back on the amp. She looks at the boys with sympathy, knowing the sound was unpleasant. "Ouch."

The boys stand up, turning to face Andi and Kelly.

Kelly looks at the boys with an angered expression. "What are you doing?"

Kendall points at her. "Me and Carlos wrote an amazing song for the bonus track that goes,"

"'Oh, oh, oh.'" He and Carlos sing. Kelly raises her eyebrows, putting her hands on her hips as she looks at Logan when he speaks. "But we wrote a better song that goes," He gestures to himself and James. "'Yeah, yeah, yeah.'"

James gestures to Carlos and Kendall. "And then they attacked us with tin foil helmets and hair extensions." He said, pulling off one of Kendall's hair extensions which caused the blonde haired boy to let out a small scream.

Andi smiles proudly. "Attacking you two was my brilliant plan."

Logan and James looks at her with offense. "You were helping them out?" Logan questions, pointing at Carlos and James. "We thought you were on our side." He complained with a frown.

"I ain't on no one's sides." Andi said, putting her hands up in defense. "I'm Switzerland." She stated, smirking at the four boys.

Carlos looks at her with confusion. "What?"

Andi sighs heavily. "Switzerland is the country known for being neutral and not choosing sides in war."

Carlos shrugs, looking back at Logan and James with a smirk. "She helped us because our song is way better." Carlos said to Logan and James, continuing the fight between them. Andi groaned, face palming as she realized the fight was starting back up.

"That just went in one ear and out the other did it?" Andi muttered under her breath. She couldn't believe the four boys were still fighting. They really didn't know when to give up. They were so stubborn.

"No, ours is better!" Logan and James yelled.

"No, ours is better!" Carlos and Kendall argued.

"Hey!" Kelly shouts, stopping the boys from fighting. After they look at her she says, "You wanna know the worst way to write a song: while fighting."

"I tried telling them that already," Andi tells her with a sigh, gesturing to the boys. "Mom, I don't think they're capable of listening right now."

Kelly crossed her arms, a bemused smile creeping onto her face. Kendall chimes in, continuing the fight. "But ours really is better because it goes-"

Carlos and Kendall sings. "Oh,"

"Yeah." Logan and James sing, glaring at the other two boys before the four boys go back and forth with singing.

"Oh,"

"Yeah."

Andi perks up when she realized that sounded really good together. "Hold on," She points at them, stopping them from continuing. "That was actually really good, combining your songs. Sing it again."

The boys look at her with confusion but they sing it again, realizing that it did sound really good.

Kelly chuckles and shakes her head. "Instead of screaming 'oh' and 'yeah' at each other, why don't you idiots scream, 'oh, yeah' together, and make that your song."

"Maybe instead of screaming you could sing." Andi quickly added, not wanting to hear anymore screaming from the boys. She had a headache earlier because of them yelling at each other.

Logan nods. "It did sound pretty good."

Carlos looks at Andi and Kelly with a worried expression. "But do you think that Gustavo will like it?"

Andi was about to reply when the loud screaming of Gustavo sounded and she grimaced. He sounded really mad and she wondered what the boys did. The boys panicked, hiding behind Andi and Kelly, and Kendall even put his ten foil hat on Kelly and Logan gave Andi the drumstick he held.

"Wait!" Andi and Kelly yelled and Andi even pointed the drum stick at Gustavo when he stood a few feet away from them. Andi grew confused at seeing Gustavo wearing what looked like a robe and was covered in dry cement. "And explain all of what that is, check out the new song from your new songwriters."

Andi and Kelly move to stand beside Gustavo as the boys sing their song. "Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Screaming, 'Oh, yeah.'"

"It's...Not," Gustavo shouts and the boys prepare themselves for more screaming from Gustavo. "Terrible."

Andi looks at Gustavo with surprise when he didn't scream the last part and that he actually liked the boy's song. The boys look at Gustavo with surprise as well, but then smile while Gustavo continues. "It just needs a little bit of help, like arranging, and producing, and a master at the controls."

He points at the studio. "Now, get in the studio!"

James furrows his eyebrows. "I thought you only write alone."

"Let's just say every now and then," Gustavo points at himself. "The lone wolf needs his pack."

He howls and the boys join him. Kelly rolls her eyes at them and Andi sighs, glancing at her mom with a sigh. "We're surrounded by idiots." She sent her mom a teasing grin.

Kelly laughs. "Yes, yes we are."

They watch as the boys run into the studio to record their song, laughing and joking with each other. Andi can't help but feel proud of the boys and the song they created, even though she was a bit annoyed with how much they fought. But despite everything, she couldn't help but feel grateful for the friendship they had formed. She couldn't imagine her life without the four boys, and she wouldn't change it for the world.

Andi was surprised when the boys ran out and grabbed her, pulling her into a hug. She squeaked, not expecting the hug, but quickly melted into it. They were warm and their laughter filled her with joy. She couldn't believe how happy and lucky she was to have such amazing friends. And she was glad they had finally learned how to work together. It was something she had always believed in and hoped would happen.

"Thank you." Kendall whispered, kissing the top of her head as the boys hugged her tightly.

Her heart suddenly flutters at the sudden sweet action. "What for?" She mumbled.

"For getting us to stop fighting and realize that working together was better." He explained, giving her a gentle squeeze.

"It was nothing, really." She shrugged, feeling shy all of a sudden.

"No, it was something." Kendall insists, pulling back slightly to look her in the eyes. "You're always there for us, supporting us and encouraging us to do better even when we're acting like idiots. You keep us grounded."

Andi felt a rush of warmth spread through her, but it was accompanied by that familiar confusion. She was happy with Jax, she reminded herself again, but the way Kendall was looking at her made her heart skip a beat. She forced a smile, trying to keep her emotions in check.

"Well, someone has to look out for you guys." She said, playfully nudging him. "You'd be lost without me."

Kendall chuckles and smiles at her, the moment of seriousness passing. "You're probably right."

The boys finally let go of Andi and ran back into the studio, leaving her standing there with her thoughts racing. She bit her lip, watching Kendall disappear through the door. She was happy with Jax, she reminded herself firmly. But despite that, there was something about Kendall's words and the way he looked at her that left her feeling conflicted. Shaking her head, Andi took a deep breath and tried to push the thoughts aside. It was just a moment, and Kendall was her friend—nothing more.

As she turned to leave, Kelly gave her a knowing look, raising an eyebrow. "You alright, honey?"

Andi blinks, forcing a smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just...You know, boys." She shrugged, trying to sound nonchalant.

Kelly laughs softly. "Boys will be boys. But you did good today, Andi. You helped them figure things out in a way only you could."

Andi nods, appreciating the praise but feeling the weight of her swirling emotions. "Thanks, mom."

As Kelly walked ahead, Andi lingered for a moment, her mind drifting back to the hug, Kendall's words, and the flutter in her chest. She was happy with Jax—wasn't she?

With a sigh, she shook her head and followed her mom. No point in overthinking it. She needed to focus on the positive. The boys had finally come together, and their song was shaping up into something amazing. Kendall's words were probably just him being his usual sweet self, right? She tried to convince herself that it didn't mean anything more than that. But as she stood there, the ghost of Kendall's kiss on her head still lingering, she couldn't help but wonder if there was more to her feelings than she was willing to admit.
