(Jodi's POV)

"Sapphire, what are you talking about?" I asked.

"Nothing," Sapphire replied. "I shouldn't have said anything."

She sat next to Saylor in a chair next to mine. "You know she can hear and smell everything?" Sapphire asked.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, Saylor and I studied it in science last year," she replied. "Last year was so fun. Everyone was friends and happy. Aria and Caleb were dating, me and Saylor were best friends, and Aria, Sayels, and I were starting to discover the love of music."

She sighed. "I miss that."

I looked at her. "Are you okay?" I asked her.

"Why wouldn't I be?" she said casually. "Um, I'd better go."

She got up and walked out of the hospital. Soon, visiting hours were over and I had to leave as well.

I went back to the dorm. Sun Hi was asleep, but Corki was sitting in her bed. "Hey," I whispered.

"Hey," she whispered back. "You okay?"

"Yeah," I replied. "How bout you? Why's Sun Hi asleep but not you?"

"I just wasn't feeling great," she replied. "But I'm fine now, don't worry."

"What do you mean you weren't feeling well?" I asked.

"My stomach just started hurting," she replied.

"You were nervous," I said. "What were you nervous about?"

"Uh... um... I kinda started..." she trailed off.

"Corki?" I pressured.

"I've got a C average in science," she blurted out, then covered her mouth.

"What?" I asked. "Corki, how?"

"I just, I don't know, I don't understand it anymore," she said.

She started crying. Her eyes were just flowing with the salt water. I hugged her. "Don't worry," I said. "I'm sure that there are plenty of people to help you."

"Thanks," she replied.

.....one week later.....

"Are you ready?" Caleb asked.

"Yeah," I replied. "What does it matter? I have to have the surgery anyways, even if I wasn't."

He smiled and took my hand. "I'm nervous," I said.

"I know," he replied. "But you're going to be fine, don't worry."

Jared pulled into the hospital and Caleb and I hopped out the back. We walked into the ER where I was going to get surgery.

I hugged Caleb and let my head rest on his chest. "I love you," he whispered. "I always will."

I was soon put into a room where they gave me some gas, and I fell into a sleep.

*In Jodi's Dream/Mind*

I was in this little white room. I didn't know where I was, or what I was doing there. "Hello?" I called out, wondering what was going on.

"Jodi?" a voice asked. "Is that you?"

"Oh my God," I said. "Am I dead?!"

A figure walked out from being a white bookshelf. "No," she said. "You're just in your mind."

Saylor was standing there, her blond hair still wavy, her blue eyes still sparkling. "Saylor?!" I asked. "What?! Where am I?!"

"I don't really know," she replied. "But I've been here since I got stuck in this coma."

"Wait, so this is basically our minds?" I asked.

"Yeah," she replied. "I just said that."

(Caleb's POV)

It took forever, that's how it felt. And yeah, there was only like, a five percent chance that Jodi wouldn't make it, but still.

The nurses actually made us leave. I was so tired from being up all night with Jodi the night before that I barely remember anything. All I remember was my phone going off and seeing that it was the hospital, before I basically passed out.

When I woke up, Sun Hi and Corki were both by my bed, both of their faces tear stained. They motioned for me to come outside, where I found my mom and dad. My mom was crying, but I didn't know why. "What's wrong?" I asked.

My mom looked up. "Oh sweetie, it's Jodi," she said.

"Wait," I said. "Oh my God, is Jodi dead?! She's dead isn't she?!"

"No, Jodi's alive and recovering," my mom replied. "Sweetie these are tears of joy."

"But mom," I said. "You barely know Jodi, why are you so happy? I mean, I know why I would be happy but why would you?"

"Well, guess what else happened last night."

"What?"

"Saylor woke up."

Okay, so I know this is short for my usually standards, but I thought that was a really sweet way to end the chapter. But, the next chapter is going to be completely what happened in Jodi and Saylor's 'Minds' during the surgery and after a little. Don't forget to vote and comment!
