Close Your Eyes
Serena's POV
We sat at the couches in the living room and Delia began talking about somethings I just can't understand quite fully yet, but I have to try right?
She looks at me then at Grace who is supposedly my mother, I quickly glance at her and saw a frown from her.
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, I tensed up from the heavy atmosphere around us and it wasn't helping me remember either. She then opened her eyes and I could see a determined look from her.
"Ash, Serena, you two aren't normal" I look at Ash and he glances at me, I kinda knew that we weren't normal after that little flashback of mine, but I still can't help but be curious on to why we weren't normal.
"How come mom? Also, how do you know that we aren't normal?" Ash asked, Delia looked at Grace and nodded "Because, I was there 19 years ago" She said in serious tone, it made me flinch from it.
"Care to explain" I said, Delia nodded and began explaining.
"You see Ash, Serena, we used to be best of friends. You two had a crush on each other while I was that cliché third wheel that would always butt in everytime something romantic would happen" Ash's mom chuckled, I couldn't help but chuckle aswell from recalling all the times she would randomly appear when we were about to kiss.
"Serena, your mother, Grace would tend to butt in your love life aswell not like in a bad way. She would actually help you set up dates and such, but you being stubborn, you didn't want any help from her. Heck, you hated her since the age of 8, but Grace didn't care and raised you to be a fine young lady." I glanced at my mother who had a frown plastered on her face, I guess I now know why.
"Why did I hate her? What could she has possibly done to make me hate her?" I asked "She separated you from the one you loved during the summer camp we once attended, and his name was Ashton." Ash's eyes widened and he gripped both side of his head as he groans in pain, I quickly went beside him and placed my hand on his shoulder, he must be remembering something.
I look at Delia aw she looks at my mother, the two nods and diverts their gaze at us. I wore a concerned look, I know they would something and I know it would involve Ash getting hurt.
"Serena dear I want you to see it for yourself first, it seems Ash isn't ready to know the truth yet" My mother said, Ash shot his head up and gasped at my mother "What do you mean?! I am ready to know the truth as long as it can make me know Serena better!!" He exclaimed, my mother had no emotion showing on her face as she stared deeply in his soul.
"You want to know her better? Do you even know who you are?"
Silence feel in the room, I look between my mother and Ash who were both staring at each other. Ash then looked away and left the room, but before he did he said..
"Of course I know.....I am Ash Ketchum, not some Ashton from the past"
It felt painful when he said that, and it didn't help from the cold glare my mother was giving him as he left the room. Delia sighs and scratches her head from frustration, I can't lie, this whole scenario is frustrating.
But I can't back down now, I already dug myself to deep and there is no way I'm going back now.
I'll continue head on, with or without him...
"Continue please" Delia was taken aback for a moment but that quickly changed as she nodded from my demand.
But before she could open her mouth, my mom taps my shoulder and I look at her. She was holding a blue ribbon and a handkerchief. It made my heart raise, but why?
"I want you to close your eyes and think about these two objects I am holding. After that, I will send you back to where you were when you were badly injured by getting hit by a truck"
"Wait, SHE GO HIT?!" Delia exclaimed and examined me to look for any bruises, I chuckled from how concern the woman can be at times.
"Yes, Serena the way I miraculously healed you is by giving you a part of my human life to you. But, I needed the moonlight for it to be a success" My mother explained.
"But why did I hear a flute playing?" I asked, she looked at the floor and clenched her hand tightly, it must be important...it must b-
"I just couldn't stop myself from playing!! Oh my dear you have no idea how beautiful the moonlight can be!! Just blah blah blah blah blah" She continued on, it either my mind blanking out from her rant or it's really her saying "blah blah" all over again.
I fell animestyle, which was pretty weird, Ash was pretty good at it though.
It's not like this world is an anime anyway, so why do I even bother? Oh well..
I glance at Delia and gave her a nervous smile as she did the same with me, we both waited for her to finish on ranting, but as I wait I can't help but think about Ash's statement awhile ago..
It's nothing to worry about now, I need to focus on what's ahead...with or without him..
After an hour or so, she finally stopped and we both then began once again.
"Serena, this is how I will send you to your hidden memories" She said with a serious look in her eyes, I slowly nodded signalling her to continue.
"Close your eyes and think about the remaining days you have here, and after that....think about the two objects I showed you while you are "there" and remember, what ever happened there means nothing here alright?" I nodded once more and closed my eyes, but I then once more.
"Where exactly? What is that place I'm going to?" I asked, she sighed and said..
"To that chamber" She said, before I could even utter a word about not wanting to go back, I was knocked out.
I could hear people..
Laughing,
Crying,
Yelling,
Giggling..
Each word they said was..
"Close your eyes"
Or
"He'll find out"
I knew nothing yet...
From those voices makes my heart flatter..
I tried opening my eyes but couldn't, or was I already awake and I just couldn't see anything?
Who knows, but all I know is that I'm here..
Back in the place I never want to be in anymore, where I don't to end up in after the time limit.
My chamber of loneliness and despair..
And guess who was probably there?
That's right..
Arceus...
God, I'm screwed.
