5 Tooth Palace

POV Jack

There weren’t many dark corners inside Tooth Palace. However I found the only one that was against the rock walls and the shadow from a tree was casting upon it. Here I’m sitting and trying to avoid the tooth fairies that work for Toothiana. They just don’t seem to either care or don’t understand my wish to be by myself right now.

I try to touch the rock wall but it isn’t freezing. I try to blast a strong wind but it isn’t working. This would have been bad if you’ve asked me about it few decades go, now I could give it less. “Jack?” I heard Toothiana’s voice from behind of me, she flies to me and seems worried.

“Hey  Tooth,” I sighed and I turned back around. “Why are you hiding in the dark?” She whispered and kneeled next to me. “I just am,” I said simply and she hummed.

Suddenly she wrapped her arms around my neck. “It’s alright Jack, we’ve been friends for long time. I see how you struggle day by day,” she whispered and her embrace was tighter. “Calm down Tooth,” I whispered and patted her back. She let go of me and looks at me smiling her compassionate smile.

“So now we just need a way for the children to believe in you again!” She giggled happily and I gave her a faint smile. “How could we possibly do that?” I chuckled, this enthusiasm of hers amused me. “Fun, you’ll bring the fun back to people’s lifes!” She chirped happily and I groaned while rolling my eyes. “Jackson Jack Overland Frost!” Toothiana shout out like a mother would and slapped my shoulder.

I startled and she continued her preaching. “You should take this more seriously! Besides you were there to help us when children stopped believing in us. Now you’re the one in trouble and we’ll help you!” She poked my chest and smiled.

I messed up my hair and glance at her. “I just don’t care what happens to me,” I sighed and she seemed a bit angry right now, her shoulders raised as she inhaled deeply. She also frowned and pushed me from my shoulder. “You should care! And care for the kids at least! You were the one who brought them outside from playing of videogames to having snow fights! Just think what happens when you’re gone!” She yelled.

I laughed blankly, “They’ll continue playing games and eating their snacks?” Toothiana nodded, “yes! Their teeth will be ruined!” After she said that I stood up. “Ok, that’s enough. Make your fairies take me away from here,” I looked around me.

Everywhere were bright colors, pink and orange mixed with gold. It just didn’t seem right to be in a place where memories are hold. The memories that I wish would be gone. It’s funny how once I wanted my memories back and now I wish them gone. They just hurt me more.

“Jack?” Toothiana yelled after me when I was walking away from her. “LEAVE ME ALONE!” I turned around and shouted to her. She froze on her spot and stared at me with surprise. I look down and gritted my teeth together. Then I saw it around my neck. It was the necklace which I gave to Elsa once. I touched it and it opened, playing the tune that made my heart ache.

“NO!” I yelled and ripped it from my neck and throwing it to ground. I run away, as far as possible from Tooth. Her Tooth Palace is in way too far and I’m cornered in this place. It’s impossible to get away if you can’t hide or dig a hole out. Which I can’t do at the moment. I’ve lost myself and my abilities.

“Jack?”  I hear her whisper and when I turn around I see her. “Els?” I whisper back and she nodded. I close my eyes, “I missed you.” Her steps are closing me, “I know it Jack. Why did you let me die?” My heart is aching, “I tried my everything. Moon didn’t listen to me.” I responded to her.

When I open my eyes I see her standing close to me, sobbing. My eyes are getting blurry in sight, “Don’t cry My Moon.” She turns her head to look at me, “Why you kept on living without me?” She cried and I bit my lower lip. “I didn’t want to,” I gulped and she was now crying a lot. I walk to her slowly, my eyesight is getting worse second by second.

I touched her shoulder and pulled her into embrace. She is here, I can feel her even though I cannot see. “I’m sorry Jack.. I don’t hate you, be with me.. join me?” She whispered. “Yeah… I will be with you now, forever,” I whispered and sighed. Now I have her, she is back with me. Finally.

Her lips pressed against mine, for a moment it felt like the most precious moment of my lifetime after many years. Then it started to hurt. My heart was killing me, it was like being squeezed more than ever before. I fall to ground and my body is getting colder, I’m feeling sick. Suddenly I can see things clear again. There she is standing. She looks like her but then she doesn’t. My love didn’t have black hair, blank black eyes or grey skin like this person has. I see how some black sand twirls around her mouth and I’m gasping for air.

“Nice that you joined us,” she laughs blankly. Slowly I feel my body relaxing, all emotions disappearing. There is no love, no affection, no happiness. There’s no fear.

There’s just one left. Hate.

POV Maiden of the Moon

For some reason I felt like I needed to go to Tooth fairy’s home. It was a strong feeling which I got when the Moon lightened me tonight right after when I woke up.  Winter fairies were kind enough to take me there. The place was astonishing even though the colors I prefer are blue and silver. This place was decorated with gold and warm colors.

I landed near a small lake which surface was having a pink shade that was reflected from the landscape around it. A gentle breeze was waving the branches of the trees and making the leaves rub against each other and creating calming sound. It was a peaceful place with lovely sound of running water.

There was one thing though that made the silence not too great. Thousands of small tooth fairies were flying around. They reminded me of tiny humming birds with somehow humanly looks. Winter fairies really had to do some dodging because the tooth fairies were fast and flying all over the place.

“How did you get here?” I hear a high and friendly voice from behind of me. I slowly stood up after I had kneeled down in front of the water to look at the fishes on the bottom of the lake. “Fairies brought me, “ I said as friendly as I could. It was odd that when I turned around the woman, just a little taller than me gasped for air. It was like she was in shock for seeing me here.

The woman had beautiful bright purple eyes, she had emerald green feathers that were on her body like a dress. She was like this place, vibrant and colorful since in the emerald green outlook she also had other bright colors as blue and yellow. She blinked her eyes and I noticed how long eyelashes she has.

Suddenly she smiled, sadly but happily at the same time. “I’m so happy to meet you again,” she whispered. I felt a bit surprised, “But Toothiana, I’ve only met Sandy. This is the first time we actually meet.” She shook her head, “No Elsa. We have met before.”

Elsa? Why did she call me that?

“I’m the Moon Maiden,” I corrected her and she chuckled. “You may be that but you’re also Elsa. I’ve missed you,” she whispered and flew easily. I felt how she jumped to my neck and hugged me. I patted her back and she sniffled. “You’ve mistaken, I don’t know anyone with the name of Elsa,” I whispered.

“Maybe Manny brought you back? You could be experiencing memory loss like he did,” Toothiana said quickly. “Memory loss? Like him? What are you saying?” I back up and look at her.

“Like Jack, your husband. Don’t you remember her?” She seemed shocked and I shook my head. “I don’t remember anything before being Moon Maiden but I don’t remember being married to him.. However I came to search him, Manny asked me to help him since I’m the Protector of the Guardians,” I nodded to her.

She laughed slightly, “Fine. I think he went this way. He has been a bit down and moody lately.” She said while flying in front of me. Second after second she became a bit more anxious and frustrated. She was mumbling to herself and some of her tooth fairies flew to her and she gave them instructions´.

I walked to her, placing my hand on her shoulder. “What’s wrong?” I asked from her caringly. “I can’t find him!” She gasped and I furrowed my eyebrows. “He is gone?” I asked and she nodded.

“We will find him, Manny might know--,” I whispered and took a step back. My feet bumped into something small and shiny on the ground. I reached to it and picked it up. It was a shiny heart shaped locket.

When my fingers touched it, it opened. A melody started to play and I felt dizzy. It seemed familiar somehow and images were rushing into my head. First I was scared on the first one and then I saw Jackson Overland, a bit older than in my dream when he was going to have his 18th birthday. He saved me from falling through ice but I saw him drowning. I felt so sad and miserable.

Then I feel like being suffocated and I realize that I’m drowning. Then I feel someone lifting me up and soon I see him, Jack Frost. It was like I was denying something. A little later I knew what it was. Love. I loved Jack Frost.

My heart is now beating again, beating for him. I had forgotten him, now I remember that I had a life before becoming the Moon Maiden. He was part of that life, still I can’t remember it all but I remember the love.

I woke up and realized that Toothiana was kneeling next to me, I had fallen to ground unconscious and she was yelling my name. My name from before, Elsa. I gasped for air and she embraced me, “I was so worried! You just passed out!”

I look at her. She knew me from before. It’s like she just realized what I’m feeling. “I guess you found out something?” She smiled and I nodded. “I can’t remember the husband part or you… but I remember loving him,” I whispered while smiling.

She squealed happily, “He will be so happy! We need to find him!” She jumped to air and I stopped her by grabbing her hand. “No, he denied my existence. If he doesn’t believe in me, it’s impossible,” I whispered and Toothiana sighed.

We stayed silent for a moment. She tapped her chin, “Would you like to remember something?” She smiled and I nodded. “Of course! But how?” I grinned and she winked her eye. “I’m the Guardian of Memories, let’s find your teeth,” she giggled.

Then she flew off and just minutes later she returned with a golden tube, “Here.” She smiled and handed it to me. I opened it up, “It’s empty.” She gasped, “No! They should be here!” She grabbed the tube and stared at it. “No,” she exhaled and then she pouted. “I’m sorry Elsa, they’re stolen.. your childhood teeth,” she gulped and I touched her shoulder. “We’ll find some way,” I smiled and comforted her.

Then her eyes widened, “I knew that I sensed something! Now I focused and.. Pitch has been here.” She gasped, “He took your teeth!” My jaw dropped, “And Jack?” Toothiana seemed shocked but then she was getting determined. “It’s time that you meet your other friends again, after many years. Let’s meet the other Guardians!” Then she whistled and I felt how some small tooth fairies appeared to carry me. I noticed that our course was headed to North.
