~intro~

Halloween was merely days away before Jungkook realized that he hadn't bought a costume or made any plans. His friends, Taehyung and Namjoon, had planned to go to a popular haunted house and he was told that more people were also going along with them.

Before Jungkook even knew it, he was forced into a werewolf costume the night that the haunted house opened. Taehyung had told Jungkook that he's going with them even if he didn't want to. To be honest, he didn't mind.

Jungkook stared into his mirror at himself and furrowed his eyebrows. "How come I look scarier than you?" He chuckled as he watched Taehyung fiddle angrily with his own ears.

"Because," Namjoon spoke up as he stepped in front of Taehyung, reaching his hands up to fix Taehyung's wolf ears. "I wanted to show off my little pup tonight." He stated as he clipped on the ear correctly.

Jungkook pressed his lips into a thin line as he looked back into the mirror. "You two always make me feel too single." He said.

Taehyung looked away from Namjoon and decided to argue with that. "Not true!" He almost whined out as he furrowed his eyebrows. "Besides, you'll get to meet Jimin and Yoongi tonight. Maybe that'll change."

"Maybe." Jungkook shrugged.

~Jungkook's POV~

By the time we reached the haunted house, it was already dark and there were plenty of people. It would be easy to get lost in the crowd, but I just decided to stick to my friends like glue to prevent that. That should be easy to do, right? How hard can it be?

I looked around at all of the Halloween costumes and decorations everywhere. "What's the point in dressing up?" I asked Taehyung.

He looked over at me and drew his eyebrows together. "It's Halloween. Did you expect Christmas ornaments instead?" He laughed.

I shook my head at that. "You're so mean to me." I frowned as I watched a person walk by. The person was crying and their friend was comforting them as much as they could. "What was that about?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

Namjoon had a weird smile on his face. "You'll see." He said as Taehyung started jumping like a little kid with candy.

"Look, Joonie!" Taehyung pointed to a group of people who were walking towards the haunted house. "It's them! Let's go!" He said as he grabbed onto both Namjoon and my hands and forced us to run with him.

Namjoon smiled at him. "Calm down."

"Seokie!" Taehyung screamed in return.

The two guys on the right of the group turned towards Taehyung as he ran up to hug them. The whole group had stopped walking as they realized that we were behind them.

The taller one that Tae was hugging had on a wolf costume as well, and the other three boys had on cat ears and tails. "Jungkookie!" Tae turned back to me with a big smile. "This is Seokjin and Hoseok." He pointed at the one with the wolf ears and the other one who had yellowish orange cat ears on him.

The two smiled at me. "Hi." Hoseok said cheerfully as he wrapped his arm around Seokjin and hit him lightly.

"Hi, you can just call me Jin." He looked back at me. "Seokjin is too much to say."

Taehyung rolled his eyes and pushed the two out of the way. "This," he smiled devilishly at me, making me feel uneasy because I know exactly how he is. "This is Jimin and Yoongi." He said as the other two boy came into view.

One of them had on black cat ears, but the other person.. wow. He's beautiful.

He was standing there playing with his white cat tail that matched his white ears, and his mouth was in a pout as he looked down at his hands, trying to fix the tail. The way he stood with his back slightly arched and the flashing lights from decorations made him look pretty.

The boy's hair was black, which made the white cat ears stick out even more, and his dark brown eyes were wondering up and down his tail, trying to make it curved like a cat's real tail would be. When he was finally satisfied, he looked up only to see everyone looking at him.

"Oh-" he looked surprised as he made eye contact with me. "I- Sorry, Uh.. I'm Yoongi."

I felt my heart explode as he spoke.

His voice was a lot deeper than I thought it would be, but it was also smooth and almost calming even though he was stuttering.

"I'm Jungkook." I smiled down at him.

I looked over at Jimin and smiled as well, not wanting to keep obviously staring at Yoongi.

"Let's go, now!" Taehyung jumped, almost making his wolf ears fall off of his head again for the tenth time tonight. "Get in line."

We all followed Taehyung, kind of away from him because he was ahead with Jimin, talking about how scary it was going to be and about how he bet he could keep calm in there.

"I doubt that." Jimin chuckled. "I've seen at least three people crying as they left."

I saw Hoseok's head snap up at that. "If it's too scary like that, then-" He turned around, but Jin wrapped his arm around him tightly.

"Don't worry, we'll be scared together."

A laugh came from the person next to me, and my eyes creased up as I looked at the sight next to me. It was Yoongi, but he was laughing.

His eyes were barely visible and his hand was barely covering his gummy smile as he started pointing at the house instead. "Hoseokie, if you can last without screaming, I will pay for yours and Jin's food later." He challenged.

I felt myself staring again, but I couldn't help it. This kitten was just too adorable. "And what about you?" I asked. "You're not scared?"

Yoongi looked up at me with slightly wide eyes. "I- I'm not scared, but.." He looked away.

"But what?" I slightly teased him. The look on his face was opposite to what he was telling me.  "Come on, I know you're scared." I smiled.

His tail flew in the air as he slightly pushed my arm, and I hadn't even realized that I had moved closer to him. "No I'm not!" He whined, which made me smile even more.

"You took 'scaredy cat' to a whole new level." I reached up to his ear and fixed the slight droop as we stopped to stand in line for the house. Yoongi looked up at me with his eyes shining from the moon, or maybe it was a street lamp.

  Either way, he looked pretty.

I didn't realize that I was just holding onto his ear and staring down at him until the line started moving up. Yoongi was looking up at me in confusion and slightly blushed, so I finally moved away in hopes to stop embarrassing myself by getting caught.

  "T- Thank you." He mumbled.

My heart felt like bursting as I watched him look at the ground with a shy look on his face.

"You're welcome." I said as our turn came to pay. Taehyung jumped like a bunny in excitement, just like he had done all night.

"I need," He turned to Namjoon and evilly grinned. "Seven tickets to the scariest level that you have, ma'am." He said as he glanced at the pricings on a small board.

Hoseok, from behind him, tilted his head to see the board too. "Wait, there's different levels?" His voice went higher as he spoke.

Taehyung still had that smile on his face as he turned back to all of us. "Yes, and if we're going to get scared, we might as well go all out." He said as he grabbed the tickets. "Let's go."

-

As we all gave the man our ticket to pass into the haunted house, he shook his head at us. "You guys are all going to regret buying the highest level." He stated as he took my ticket. "I've seen countless people come out of this place crying and sweating." He laughed.

I could see some of the boys tense up at that. "It's really that scary? No way." Taehyung brushed it off like it was nothing. He acts like he won't be scared, but I've know him too long to know that he's going to regret this.

"Namjoon, you better hope you hold onto him tight, because I know for a fact that he's going to be scared." Jimin looked up at the taller.

Namjoon laughed at that as Taehyung scoffed. "I will make it through easily. Just you wait and see." He crossed his arms in front of him.

Everyone else gave their tickets to the man and finally, we were in front of the door to enter the haunted house, the highest level. The house was tall and dark on the outside and on the inside. I breathed in the fake fog and coughed as I swiped it out of my face.

You could practically hear the boys' hearts beating through the thick silence. "Guys, are you all here?" I heard Seokjin ask quietly.

We couldn't really see a thing, so it was hard to tell where we were walking. Suddenly, a soft piano was heard from a distance and a trail of flickering lights were turned on. It obviously looked like a trail that we were supposed to follow, but nobody moved.

Finally, we began to move. Soon enough, though, we saw that it split into three ways.

"What?!" Hoseok whined. "I don't want to split! That's how people die!" He stated.

"Relax," Taehyung laughed. "Joonie and I will go left, Hobi and Jin in the middle, and Jungkook with Jimin and Yoongi." He said.

Jimin gasped at that. "I'm not going with Jungkook! He's a stranger! I'm going with one of you." He moved closer to Taehyung.

"Fine." Taehyung groaned.

"I'm going with Jungkook." I heard Yoongi finally speak up from beside me. His cold hands made their way up my arm, making me shiver as he held onto me. His grip tightened as the lights turned from white to red colors.

The boys all slightly gasped at the change.

"Let's just go." Namjoon's footsteps were heard as silence took over and lights were being covered by the other's footsteps.

Now it was just me and Yoongi all alone.

"Come on," I smiled down at him even though he looked terrified. He furrowed his eyebrows at me as I basically dragged him with me.

"Wait- But what if something grabs us?" He asked. "Are there jump scares in this thing?"

I hid my laugh as he held on tighter as we took more steps. "Trust me, it's all fake. You'll be okay." I said as we finally walked through the door and into a big room. "See?"

Yoongi looked around the room and smiled as he saw a lantern on the wall. "Hey, look!" He let go of my arm and reached for the lantern, glad to finally have a light. As he reached for it, something suddenly grabbed his arm, making him scream like a little girl. "What the hell?!"

He was now holding onto me again. I felt my heart beating fast, and I didn't know if it was from the scare or the way he held onto me. I reached forward and grabbed the lantern quickly and gave it to a still scared Yoongi.

"Should've seen that coming." I laughed.

Yoongi frowned and hit my arm. "Shut up."

We walked through the room with the light and hit spider webs out of our way as we walked through another door on the other side of the room. The room we were led into was smaller —almost small enough to be a walk-in closet— and it looked like it went to nowhere, so we just backed up and left it there.

Yoongi turned the light towards the middle of the room, and as if it was supposed to happen, the piano in the middle of the room started playing by itself, leaving a scared Yoongi to back up against me and scream.

"Stupid piano!" He held onto his chest.

I laughed and grabbed the lantern from him and placed it on the piano as it stopped playing by itself. I made my way to the piano bench and sat on it after I wiped off the dust.

  "Scaredy cat." I whispered.

Yoongi walked up behind me and sat on the bench with me, making me scoot over. "I'm not scared. It was just very sudden." He stated. He fixed his cat tail so that he wasn't sitting on it and then he placed his hands on the piano.

He started playing random notes, and it sounded as if he knew what he was doing.

"I used to play." He explained to me.

I nodded my head as I watched him and occasionally played a random key with him. It didn't feel like we were in a haunted house until out lantern light was blown out.

Yoongi stopped playing the piano and grabbed onto my arm. "Just making sure you're here." He said. I chuckled at that.

"I'm here." Someone other than either of us said from behind us. To say I didn't get scared would be a lie, but I'm not admitting that.

Yoongi held onto me tighter as I heard a thud and an "ow" come from the voice behind us.

It took me a second to realize that the voice came from Seokjin, and he raised his own lantern and pushed it into Hoseok's arms.

"Why'd you hit me?" Seokjin grabbed his stomach with a hurt look on his face.

  "You scared me!" Yoongi stated.

I looked over at Yoongi and finally realized that Yoongi had punched Seokjin from the scare. Hoseok was rubbing Jin's back, trying not to laugh. "Don't try to scare Yoongi."

Jin looked up at Hoseok and smacked his head. "You're the one who told me to."

-

We all finally made it out of the haunted house after a few more scares and we went out to eat together. Everyone was talking about how they "weren't scared" and then someone would accuse them of lying and explain how they would scream at small things.

  Apparently everyone got scared.

"I didn't get scared." I stated as I shoved some noodles into my mouth. Taehyung rolled his eyes at me and ate his own food as well.

"Of course you didn't." He said. "I only brought you to be our little body guard."

I could see Yoongi laugh at that in the corner of my eye. He hid it by placing his straw in his mouth. "Was I a good body guard?" I asked.

Yoongi looked up at me in confusion.

"Oh, oh!" Hoseok suddenly excitedly shouted. "You should've seen how cute they were when they were playing the piano, Tae!" He said.

Taehyung smiled at me and raised his eyebrows. "Oh, really?" He puckered his lips.

I rolled my eyes at Taehyung. "Don't think too much about it." I told him before I looked over at a silent Yoongi. "Unless you want him too." I nudged him, making him look back at me.

"Stop teasing me!" He hit me from under the table as I merely laughed at him.

"It's their world and we're just living in it." Namjoon said from across the table with a smile on his face that made his dimples show.

Taehyung grabbed his heart and smiled like a proud mother. "The height difference! The personalities! Oh my God, Namjoonie we're matchmakers!" He bounced in his seat.

"They act like we're personal toys." Yoongi moved his chair closer to mine and shyly picked at his food. "But I wouldn't mind getting to know you, actually.." He scratched his ear.

I smiled down at him. "Is this your way of hinting a date?" I rested my chin in my hand.

"Maybe.. Would you like to?" He asked.

"Maybe.."
