Chapter-14| Game of dice
Everyone was waiting at the entrance to welcome us
I saw every one of them whom I've just read about. Guru Drona, Gandhari, Bishmapitamah, Matha Kunti, Shakuni, Aswathama, Dhushana, Vikarna and everyone.
"But where is Karna?"
It was soon our turn to get a blessing from them.
"Greetings, Mata," Arjuna greeted Mata Kunti
"Greetings, Maatha," I greeted her.
"Ayushmaan Bhava. I've heard a lot about you from Krishna. It's good to see you in person. My nephew has a beautiful sister." she praised and hugged me.
"She was a sweet soul indeed. But Why would she hide my Sakha Karna's birth."
"Pranam, Maharaj. Pranam, Mata." Arjuna greeted Gandhari and Dhirtarashrita.
"Kreethi Bhava," they replied
"Greetings, Pitamah," I greeted.
"Pranam Pitamah," Arjuna Aarya greeted.
"It's Good to see you, my son. Dhaksha, I have heard a lot of good things about you. Let this happiness last forever," he praised us. Vijayi Bhava."
"Happiness? Forever?"
Lastly, there was a person who didn't even deserve our greetings. It was Shakuni.
"Pranam, Gandharaj." we both greeted.
"Ayushmaan Bhava, my dear, Arjuna," he smirked.
"Something is missing in his face"
"My dear, Dhaksha."
Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.
"I have heard much about you, especially from my dear Duruyodhana. He said that you are good at Archery, unlike other women. Is that so? We missed a wonderful and strong woman like you. If Arjuna didn't come in between, you would be with us here at Hastinapur," he said with that evil smile.
"There it is. The missing thing from his face, his evil smile."
"Anyways, you are happy. Let the happiness last forever." he greeted us.
"With you, alive with flesh and bones. Do you expect us to be happy?"
"Let me tell you something about me that your Duruyan forgot to tell you." I leaned into his ears. "Don't mess with Dhaksha. She's a short-tempered, mad and crazy person who's not only good at Archery. But with swords, too." I pointed to the small knife in his pants.
He gave me a stare and an evil smile.
"If anything happens to my family, I won't just sit back and cry like others. I might've to show you my skills."
"I'm so happy, my dear Dhaksha. You are so brave. Let's see whether you are brave tomorrow," he smiled.
"We are already enemies."
Everyone moved inside while Duruyan stood staring at us.
"Why? Have you all planned to crush us and kill us today with your genius brain, my dear Gandharaj?"
"You are just like your brother, Krishna. Very smart."
"Yeah. I'm like my brother. But I'm not friendly to everyone like him. I might any time go crazy and take the knife." I took his knife in my hands.
"And stab people who irritate me." I pointed the knife below his chest.
He moved back in an instant.
"This is where people stab, so that they get stabbed in their heart and die in few seconds." I smiled at him.
"Oh, no. I'm not going to stab you, Gandharaj. Only the people who get on my nerves. Here is your knife."
"You are very funny, like your brother." he snatched the knife and walked fast inside.
This guy is scared of women who still manage to be the worst villain of Mahabharat. But no one is brilliant and smarter than him. He should have used his head to preach dharma.
"Come dear. Sit and eat," Raja Matha Kunti called out.
"I heard you are close with Angaraj. Do you know where he is now?" she asked me.
"I don't know where your son-"
"Shit. Why did I say your son."
"Wait, Did you say, my son?" she asked me.
"Well, Mata, my brother told me about your secret," I whispered back.
"Don't worry, Mata. Your secret is safe with me. I
promise."
"Not even to Karna?" she asked.
"I promise."
"Is everything okay with you and Gandharaj? You both were having a serious conversation outside," Draupadi asked while eating the food.
"He is the main reason for today's treason."
"A person like him? He's going to harm my husbands?" she chuckled.
"Don't judge him by his looks. He's evil by heart. You have seen him do his evil laugh."
"I'll laugh back at him," she replied.
"Sakhi, are you sure that you wanna stay here? Let's eat and leave."
"Dhaksha, calm down. I promise you that I won't let anything happen to you."
"All I care about is you, not me."
"Stop stressing about it and eat." she smiled at me.
"She's the bravest woman I've ever met."
After we settled in our seats after eating, Shakuni started to do his part.
"As entertainment for our guests, let's play a game of dice," Duruyodhana asked.
Yudhistran na looked at Draupadi to seek her permission to proceed.
Draupadi nodded a yes.
"No," I shouted back.
"What happened, Dhaksha?" Aarya asked me.
"Let's not play the game of dice. We'll play something else?" I replied.
Shakuni stared at me.
"But, the game of dice is a good game," Shakuni said.
"It's a pretty old game," I faked to smile.
"Old is gold, my dear, Dhaksha, " Shakuni added.
"Did this mf invent this saying or what? How is he smart? Shakuni is a manipulative bastard indeed."
"Let's play the game, Gandharaj." Yudhistran stood up.
I gave this so-called death stare of mine to Shakuni
"Let's start the game, Dharmaputra," Shakuni stammered.
At first, they started without a bet, which was won by our Dharmaraj.
"Chakravathi, you are good at playing. How about we make this game interesting by betting?" Shakuni asked
"No," I shouted again.
"Is everything okay, Dhaksha?" Yudhistran na asked.
"How about we change the game instead?"I added.
"Adding bet to the game would benefit your country. Looking into the way Charkavathi plays, he would definitely win the game." Aswathama added.
"But-" I added.
"It's okay, Dhaksha. Let's just play it. It's for just for entertainment," Yudhistran na replied.
Soon, they made us go upstairs as women aren't supposed to watch the game of dice.
"Stupid rules."
I called out for my maid to keep an eye on the happenings in the courtroom.
"Don't worry, Dhaksha. Nothing would happen to my husbands," Draupadi said.
To be continued....
