hatotkach cursed by Draupadi.

The polyandrous queen of the Pandavas was known for her short-temperedness! She cursed almost everyone or everything which annoyed her. May it be the Kuru clan or poor harmless dog. But most famous of all the curses was the curse given to Ghatotkach, her step-son!

After Draupadi was won in a Swayamvara (Self-selection of husband) by Arjuna. It was decided to share her amongst all the five brothers, on the directives of their mother. Draupadi agreed to the arrangement only on one condition that, none of her husbands must bring their personal wives and children to her household and that she must be given the status of the queen.

This annoyed demoness Hidimba, who was Bhima's wife and clan's eldest daughter-in-law. Also, it dismayed other wives of the Pandavas, but nobody complaining owing to Draupadi's explosive and dominating nature.

This arrangement worked well until one day when Ghatotkach, son of Bhīma and Hidimba came to visit his father. He paid respect to every elder except Draupadi as asked by his mother. This gesture angered Draupadi and cursed him that, he will have a short life!

This in-turn infuriated Hidimba, she reminded that her son was king regent and it is not compulsory for him to pay respect to an unchaste woman like her. Hidimba also cursed Draupadi that, her sons will also be decapitated at a young age. Thus the two quarreling ended Pandava's lineage over trivial issues.
