Personality ~ Short tempered, easily annoyed and snappy. Scutum has a short fuse and disperses this unhealthily built up anger through physical retaliation. He isn't likely to hurt those he cares about, but he also isn't one to negotiate with words. Despite a rather disagreeable nature, Scutum is a follower, if he finds someone who gains his respect, he gives them undivided loyalty. This narrow-mindedness often causes him to say things blatantly and rub dragons the wrong way. When he is using language instead of fighting, it is likely he'll cause a fight later if things get heated. He is overprotective of those he finds worthy of his loyalty, which ties him directly to Fox and Scutum's own family. The willowy framed WeftWing gets called 'Fox's Shadow' because he so often follows him around like a guard dog; coincidentally looking a lot like the WoodWing as well. He doesn't like seeing those he favors in pain, but has a joyful time watching disagreeable foes in agony. WeftWings aren't built for battle, but rather craftsmanship so it's a wonder Scutum hasn't earned any permanent scars; he is impulsive and ignorant. Scutum gets involved in street fights where dragons take bets on who will win; everyone but Fox is oblivious to these practices but won't tell a soul. Disregarding his impulsiveness, he is a natural liar.

Strengths ~ Physical power, agility, determination, string-spinning tail.

Weaknesses ~ Impulsive, gets stuck in lies he has told, being tricked into becoming loyal to the wrong crowds, cannot read or write.

Backstory ~ Scutum was born into a family of WeftWings living in Refuge, who ran away from their tribe after Scutum's aunt (Who his parents leave unnamed) was sent into the Region of Mist to locate possible tribes living in it's foggy lands. His aunt never returned and it frightened his family- especially his mother, who expected his egg to hatch soon- into leaving for Refuge. As he grew, his parents weren't very involved in his activities, but made sure he never missed a day of school. As time went on, he grew more and more into the habit of fighting. Since he couldn't read, he also became a target of teasing in the schoolyard. When his sister was born, it was only natural that his parents virtually forgot about his existence, and he took up company with Fox. He started getting called 'Fox's Shadow' around this time. As his sister grew, they spent more time together. Scutum became very protective of his little sister. Shortly after, he got involved in his fifth street fight and lost, ending up unconscious on the ground of a deserted Refuge shack. It was two days before he woke up- and that was because Fox had been strolling around and found him. After loosing his first fight, he became discouraged, it certainly didn't put him in company beneficial to his mental health. It was around now that his sister gave him his feather earring, she didn't tell him much about it. Although he isn't aware, she and Fox met up and enchanted the earring so that it would heal his wounds faster than any other dragon, at first it seemed like a good idea, but Scutum grew overly confident. He is more involved in fights than ever and Fox deeply regrets giving him the earring, but is yet to take it away since he knows his friend won't be pleased to have a potential helping hand in his battles for betting money taken away.
