Mallory POV (oh unexpected!)

It was dinner time and the entire table of floor nineteen was laughing except for Half-Born. Magnus laughed and banged his fist in the table as he gripped Alex's hand. Alex was only staying in her seat by Magnus' hand holding her up. Yvette was hugging Tj and laughing like there was no tomorrow. Tj was doing the same. I laughed and laughed. Nemexa and Josh both were rolling on the floor laughing harder then I had when Half-Born tried to lift Thor's hammer. Half-Born just sat there with his arms crossed.

What was so funny? I had just told the others how Half-Born had died on the battlefield that day. I remembered exactly.

Half-Born was running towards an enemy when an arrow shot out of nowhere and got him in the eye. We had been standing on a cliff so Half-Born was clutching the arrow in his eye and had not noticed he was at the edge of the cliff, when an arrow shot him in the butt. He yelped and tried to grab the arrow and a catapult boulder fell from the sky and flattened him.

After we all finished laughing Helgi stood up to introduce the newest einherji. I looked over to the newbie table where a buff Valkyrie sat. She was obviously a child of Thor. With her red hair and buff arms. I looked at the newbie and immediately knew she was a daughter of Freya. She was about Alex's hight and such with short bobbed brown hair with sharp red tips, tanned white skin, and an extremely curvy body. She was wearing a red t-shirt under a white long sleeve shirt. And blue jeans her eyes were light brown like hazel brown.

I noticed she was wearing a blue hoodie and she was tightly holding the hood over her eyes. Helgi decided now was the time for an introduction. "Marco daughter of Freya, rise and impress us with your courage!" He boomed. The newcomer stood up and kept thee hood over her eyes. We all turned to the Valkyrie vision screens. We saw a small town. The locals were walking around happily. Wait a minute no they weren't they were all screaming in terror. Then we noticed why.

I heard a snapping sound and I looked to the right side of the screen just as a lindworm ripped off a civilians head. "HEY!" Marco yelled. The lindworm turned to her and hissed. Marco was not deterred. She grabbed a little rock off a bracelet on her arm. It turned into an axe. She charged the lindworm. The dragon blasted black blobs of venom at her and got her shoulder. She screamed in pain and charged and sliced off the lindworms foot.

The dragon had had enough. He dived down and with one gulp devoured her whole. But as the dragon swallowed her axe blade poked out of the dragons throat scales and the monster died. And so did Marco.

The feast hall gave a polite applause and so did the thanes. But Marco kept her hood pulled tightly over her eyes. After dinner all my friends left. Alex got sleepy during dinner and fell asleep in Magnus' arms. Magnus picked her up and carried her bridal style. Little late for that! They're already married! Yvette also passed out and Tj carried her to his room. Josh and Nemexa also left. They talked to each other. Me being me I thought I sensed a connection. Half-Born walked up to me and I assured him it was safe to go to his room I promised that I would be up soon. He left and I walked up to Marco.

"Hello there!" I said with my Irish accent thick. "Welcome to Valhalla!" I said. She looked at me with her Hazel eyes and I noticed a change in the sparkle. Just as with Alex this girl- wait this guy right now was genderfluid.

"T-thanks." He sounded shy. I was not worried. I was shy when I first came here I was very shy. I talked to him for about an hour. Eventually his voice lightened and obviously he began to trust him. Later I said good bye and went back to my Half-Born.

I walked in to see Half-Born pacing nervously and chewing his knuckles. "Cac." I cursed under my breath. Half-Born saw me and tackled me in a hug and a deep kiss. "Sorry" I said. He shushed my lips with his. We stayed like that for the rest of the night.
