Chapter 53
Alec's Pov
"And." He asked, holding his breath. His fingernails dug into his arms to keep him from fainting. "We found blood. It's his. But he isn't here anymore." Jace spoke quietly. Alec felt his temper rise as he pushed Jace to the wall. "Then where the hell is he?" Alec screamed as he holds Jace by the neck.
Izzy rushed over and try to pull them apart. "Stop it, Alec! This isn't helping!" Izzy's voice was wavering. Alec shook his head and burrowed his head in his arms, sliding down to the ground. He started crying. He felt lost without Magnus.
He never realized how much Magnus not being beside him affected him. It hurt everywhere, a burning sensation that spread throughout his entire body, that drained his energy. He didn't feel like doing anything, just curling up in a ball and crying. So that's what he did.
"Magnus where are you?" He whispered to himself. Magnus could hear distinct sounds. Camille's high pitched voice, and another vampire's low voice. They were talking, looking over at Magnus every now and then. Magnus waited for them both to leave before he opened his eyes. The lock was secured around his arms, but he could walk.
He stood up, only to feel completely dizzy and fall right back down. Scratch that. He can't walk. His throat was parched, dry to the dust. It hurt to swallow. His body ached, especially his neck. He felt drained, so even if his magic did work, it wouldn't help now. He glanced at the mirror and cringed at the sight.
Through the tiny shard of glass, he saw the blue tinge to his skin, a sickly color on him. His eyes had bags and his face was covered with soot. There was no escape he thought sadly. Camille came back, her grim face turning pleased when she saw that Magnus was awake. "I see that you're ready for round 2!"
Camille smiled as she licked her lips. Magnus groaned. "Camille the blood of a warlock will make you feel powerful, but it won't last long enough for you to enjoy it. And when it does fade away, you'll be in bad condition." Magnus warned as she stepped closer.
"Were you always this talkative?" She smirked. Magnus closed his eyes. This was a losing battle. "Yes." Magnus muttered. Camille smiled as she sits down next to him. "Fine. Let me make a deal." Magnus raised his brow tiredly. "What kind of deal?"
