Manus's Pov

Magnus opens a large portal and sends Asmodeus in. "Die you disgrace! Go kill yourself!" Asmodeus screams before vanishing with a blue light. Magnus slowly slides down into a crying heap. He was tired, and he couldn't move. He just laid his head down on the floor and closed his eyes, the tears falling out.

His eyes fluttered shut. Alec stormed into the institute, getting concerned looks from Izzy and Clary. He glares at them as Izzy grabs his hand. "Alec? What's wrong?" Alec huffs. "Magnus. Magnus is going crazy. That's what's happening!"

Izzy frowns as she pulls Alec aside while he explains what happened. "Alec, if that demon is his father, then what you said was out of line. Demon or not, it's still his father. And however evil he can be, Magnus still might find it hard to send him back. Because-"

"Because he worries about losing the people he loves." Alec says, finishing Izzy's thoughts. Izzy smiled as she hugs Alec. "Exactly. Now go home, Alec. I'll take care of things here. You work with Magnus and try to find a way to summon Asmodeus." Alec nods as he walks outside.

He feels guilty for yelling at Magnus, but he feels even worse about leaving him alone. He walks up to the door of his boyfriend's loft, bracing himself for some hostile words. He knocks on the door. No response. "Magnus? Can I come in?" Alec frowned.

He took out the spare key Magnus had given him and opened the door. He sees Magnus lying on the floor, breathing heavily with his eyes closed. "MAGNUS! MAGS. Oh god. What happened?" Alec runs over and pulls Magnus into his arms as he examines him.
