Chapter 70: Light Em Up

Light Em Up

Without a sound or warning Raiden came flying at me with a wicked grin on his face. I stood my ground as he brought up his powerful leg and kicked out. I grabbed ahold of his leg and twisted. Raiden went along with his leg and kicked off with his other. I barely had time to register what he was doing before I felt the blow. The side of his foot cracked against my temple. Losing my grip on his leg, I staggered back as my vision turned blurry once again.

I blinked rapidly and my vision cleared just in time to see him coming at me again. I spun out of the way of his fist as it came flying at me. I slashed my dagger across his outstretched arm and he howled in pain as he jerked his bleeding arm back. I smirked as blood trickled down the side of my face.

Raiden held his arm against his chest as a chilling look crossed his sharp features. He looked up from his arm to me. He raised a eyebrow, "That all you got?" I smirked darkly at him, "Why don't you come over here and find out." Raiden's black eyes flashed as he came at me again. He curled his hands into tight fists as he threw a series of punches at me. I dodged, danced, and deflected them.

My previous injures from my first battle began to throb and throw me off balance. I was already breathing heavily and the wound that I had suffered to my chest was gushing out more crimson blood. I stumbled away from him and cried out when I felt his knee go into my stomach. I gagged and blood fell from my gasping mouth. I fell onto my back hard when he went down low and swept my legs out from underneath me.

I went down hard. The shock of the fall vibrated through my spine and lungs. I took a quick breath and rolled, just in time to avoid his red Magic as he sent it shooting at me. He sent the rusty colored tendrils at me with wickedly fast movements. I could hear him laugh in delight as I tried to dodged them all. One made its pass by my defenses and slammed into my stomach. My eyes widened as I found myself flying back from the blow. I hit the wall hard behind me, dust and grit showered around me as I slowly slid down the wall, leaving a bloody trail behind.

I shut one of my eyes tight in pain as I watched Raiden with the other. His attention had been turned from me to Natsu. With my heart in my throat I watched helplessly as Raiden turned and began stalking up to the still Dragon Slayer. "Fey, it's all his fault." Raiden told me as he stared down at Natsu with hate swimming in his dead eyes.

"It's all his fault that you won't come back to me." I bit my lip as I struggled to get up. Raiden's bright red Magic began to swirl around his arm as he stared down at my unmoving partner. "Raiden...l-leave him...alone." I choked out weakly as I finally managed to force myself up. He faced away from me, cocking his head to the side, shielding his eyes from view.

Without a sound he raised his fist high in the air, his Magic swirled, and grew brighter in his arm. With an angry shout he brought his fist down. My heart was beating to fast and to slow at the same time. My fear filled eyes watched as his Magic fueled fist came down closer...and closer...Then I was in front of Raiden. His Magic slammed into me, stopping my lungs from taking in air, and sending me flying. I landed hard and skidded across the floor. Making a crack appear on the cement floor when my body connected. I felt something inside me crack, then break, somewhere inside of me.

Still, with shaking limbs, I stood up, and shuffled forward as I held my side. I limped forward and positioned myself in front of Raiden once again. I spread my arms out as I stood in front of Natsu. The man with the dark eyes stared at me, "Move, Fey." I shook my head firmly as I snarled, "No."

Raiden stared at me as he clenched his jaw and fists. "Why won't you just stay down?!" He all but growled out. I lifted my head and looked him in the eye with an unflinching gaze. "Because...Natsu is behind me..."

His eyes flashed as he lifted up his hand and backhanded me across the face. My head whipped to the side as the force of the blow made me fall, and skid across the floor. A breathless gasp escaped me when I hit and rolled with the sharp blow. My mouth gaped open when my broken bones flared and roared to life.

The breath was knocked outta me but I managed to hold onto my daggers. I slowly began to sit up but I was far too slow. Raiden's booted foot landed on top of my stomach. I jerked and grabbed at his foot. He was crushing my already shattered bones. With a low chuckle he lifted his foot a little and instead smashed it down on my chest, right on my wound that I had received from the black dagger.

I screamed as my vision begin to swim. Pain was all I could feel. It was overclouding all of my other senses. Blood began soaking my shirt and cloak even more as he pressed the heel of his boot deeper into my wound. I cried out weakly as my body began to shut down. My eyes began to close against my will. The pain was too much...to much.

"What? Already dying on me?" Raiden's voice broke through the haze of pain. I could feel him lean down closer to me. "I don't understand it..." His voice was laced with boredom as he twisted his heel deeper. My mouth fell open and a choked cry came out. "When you look at him." Raiden's eyes flicked over to Natsu. "The darkness in your eyes melts away." He cocked his head which made his black hair fall into his eyes as he stared down at me. "Why is that?" He wondered out loud.

I stared up at him as I choked on my own blood.
Raiden's black and red eyes were glowing with his delight of my pain. Was this going to be the last thing I saw? Raiden's eyes? His ugly laughter still rang in my ears as I slowly began to sink into the darkness that seemed all to happy to take me.

My eyes flashed open suddenly when I heard a garbled shout. I blinked slowly and weakly rolled my head to where I thought I heard the shout. Above me, Raiden had also stilled. I blinked to clear my blurry vision and when my eyes focused on a blurry form...my heart picked up. All I could hear was my own heartbeat in my ears.

"Fey!"

Natsu's voice, weak, but there, reached my numb ears. My vision became just a little bit clearer and...there he was. He was on his stomach with his arm outstretched towards me, fingers reaching. Reaching for me, but never getting to me. One of his eyes were shut tight in pain but his other eye was still glowing brightly with a hidden fire. He said something to me urgently but I couldn't hear him. My heartbeat was still pounding in my eyes. My heart soared and a small smile made its way to my lips. Natsu...I'm...here...

The Mage above me suddenly removed his foot, I could barley him say something under his breath. Then to my horror he began to stalk closer to the now awake Salamander. My eyes widened as I commanded my arms to move. However they stayed at my sides. Not obeying my command. I tried to move my legs, same as my arms, they also didn't move. Come on move! Move, dammit! I screamed to them inside my head as my eyes darted back to Raiden.

My heart plummeted as all sound left me. I watched in numb horror as the bastard raised his fist high up in the air and struck Natsu across the face. My mouth opened in a silent scream as I watched him hit...and hit...and hit him. Over and over again Raiden landed a punch. My throat went raw from me screaming, hell, even pleading for him to. Just. Stop. Please...please someone...someone make him stop. When Natsu finally slumped back onto the ground, did Raiden finally stop. However, when he turned back to me, with a bloody smirk on his face, something stopped him when he took a step toward me. Both of our eyes darted to his leg...were Natsu had reached out and grabbed hold.

"I'm really starting to get tired of you." Raiden's voice was overflowing with coldness in his voice. My eyes filled with the red light as it pulsed, then before my eyes, a katana appeared out of the red light. Raiden reached out and griped the hilt of the blade. He then spun the blade around so it was pointing downwards...right over Natsu. "Bye, bye, Salamander." Raiden said with a wicked laugh as he brought his blade down.

I. Lost. Control.

"Leave him ALONE!" The words exploding out of me in a roar of rage and fury. My icy blue light exploded outwards and completely engulfed my body from view. I slammed my fists into the floor, the satisfactory crack of the cement filled my ears, as I pushed myself up. I slowly stood up as my hair whipped all around me. My cloak flapped around me like wings. I slammed my foot forward and my foot splintered the floor into little spider web type cracks beneath me.

I straightened as my daggers gave off icy blue light. I rolled my shoulders and narrowed my glowing eyes on Raiden who had taken a step back. My eyes flicked to Natsu. His cheek rested on the cold floor but his blazing green eyes were on me. His lips moved but nothing came out. Then, with a soft breath, Natsu's eyes closed, and he sank into unconsciousness.

I stalked toward the Dragon Slayer and stood over him. I knelt down and touched my forehead to his.
"I love you, too."
My voice was unnaturally light and raspy, my voice echoed with every word I said. I slowly ran my glowing fingers down his cheek as I slowly stood up. I tilted my head at Raiden to see that his eyes had widened.

I carefully positioned myself in front of Natsu as I stared down at Raiden. I brought my daggers up to eye level as he also brought his katana up to eye level. He opened up his mouth to say something but I was already an inch away from his face. I slashed my twin daggers across his face and eye, blinding him in his left. Raiden cried out as blood erupted out of his slashed eye. He clutched at his damaged face as he slashed his katana at me. With a flick of my wrists my daggers met with his katana. With a loud screech our weapons colliding with each other in a shower of sparks. With a roar I pushed his katana away from me.

I spun and kicked him in his stomach before he could do a counter attack. He doubled over and I took the chance to sink my daggers into his back. His back arched and he vomited up blood. The hot liquid dripped from his lips and down his throat. "Fey..." He choked out my name but I didn't stop my attacks. I ripped out my daggers and cut into his arms. His shirt ripped in multiply places as I kept slicing without mercy.

Blood sprayed and flew everywhere as I kept slicing my daggers deep into his skin. His katana flashed down and I felt a sharp bite of pain when the sharp blade sank into my shoulder. With a growl I reached up and gripped the blade. I gritted my teeth at the sharp bite of pain from the slice I received from the blade. I jerked the blade out of my shoulder much to the black haired boys surprise.

Raiden and I sliced, punched, kicked, and dodged away from each other's attacks. It was like a deadly dance between us.
But there was nothing beautiful about it.
With an angry shout Raiden raised his katana and brought it down in a deadly arch. Without a sound I raised up my daggers to meet his katana. The shock of the strong blow almost made me drop my own weapons. With a low growl I tightened my hold on my daggers and pushed back against his blade.

He pushed back and my knee gave out. I fell onto one knee as I continued to hold his katana back. Raiden's dark chuckle chilled me to the bone. His dark eyes bored into mine as he smiled at me darkly. I narrowed my eyes at him as I took a deep breath. With a enraged cry I pushed back with all my might. I twisted my daggers until one was on either side of the katana. With a sharp jerk...Raiden's katana blade broke in half.

Raiden stared down at his ruined blade in confusion which slowly morphed into horror. He slowly lifted up his head to look at me. I ran at him, kicked off the ground, and time just seemed to slow as I stayed suspended in the air. My hair flew back from my face as my blue light pulsed around me. My black cloak flew around my body like bloody black wings. My arms were stretched out to either side of me with both of my daggers blades facing forward. My glowing blue eyes met Raiden's black and red ones.

Fear shone brightly in his eyes.

With a blood curdling screech I sank my daggers into his chest when I crashed into him.

I stared up at Raiden and he stared down at me. I twisted my daggers deeper into his chest as his red light pulsed once, then began to fade away, just like his heartbeat.
Raiden opened his mouth and whispered quietly, "I-missed...you, Fey." Blood gurgled out of his mouth as his eyes began to slowly fall shut.

Then, with a small shutter, my once true best friend, Raiden, fell dead at my feet.
