Wide Open

I choked out a laugh.

Out of the corner of my right eye I saw Laxus tense up. "If you wanted to see my Magic," I said softly as I slowly stood up, "Then all you had to do was ask nicely."

My hand shot up and wrapped around my necklace. I called for my twin daggers and in a flash of icy blue light they appeared before me.

They floated in the air until I reached out for them. I wrapped my hands around their glowing hilts and gripped them tightly. I instantly felt power course through me.

Their light began to fade until it was just a dim blue. I looked up at Laxus from my only good eye. I extended my arm out and flicked my wrist at him.

"Let me show you just how powerful my Magic is, Laxus Dreyar."

I was in his face faster than he could blink. I slashed my dagger across his face. He yelled and leaped away. He hadn't been fast enough.

Laxus had a rather deep cut right across the side of his cheek. It was already gushing blood. "I'm at a rather disadvantage here, Laxus." I said as I crossed my arms in an X.

My daggers gleamed when lightning lit up the sky and bounced off my blades.
I reached up and tapped the left side of my face with the tip of my dagger. "I should think that I should return the favor, no?" Laxus blinked at me and crossed his arms over his chest. "Ready when you are." He told me. I smiled softly and rushed forward.

I brought my gleaming daggers down and Laxus blocked with his lightning. I also blocked when he tried to punch me in the face again. His fist connected with my dagger's sharp blade. Laxus sucked in a breath and pulled his hand back quickly. I smiled at his bleeding knuckles. "Laxus, Laxus, you know better than to play with sharp objects." I tsked.

Laxus narrowed his eyes at me. I opened my arms wide, "What's you're next move, darling?" His next move was meant to take me by surprise.
As I watched, his whole body began to glow yellow with his Magic. The lightning seemed to become a part of him and then Laxus was gone. His body was now a lightning bolt.

He moved faster than my eye could possible track. One moment he was right in front of me and in the next moment he was right beside me. I twisted my body and brought up my dagger.

His lightning bounced off my blade and ricocheted off into the ground. Pieces of dirt flew towards us and into the crowd of people.
I took a breath and slashed both of my daggers at him at top speed. My daggers were a blur of motion as I struck. Laxus kept dodging my blows and he kept backing up.

Just as I was about to get the upper hand, I could feel a different type of Magic coming at me from behind. I spun and brought up one of my daggers, blocking Laxus's lightning with my other.
Hot orange flames slammed into my dagger and the force sent me sliding back. I flicked my dagger and sent the flames away from me.

I quickly looked up to see Natsu Dragneel a few feet away. His body was battered but his flames were still bright. I straightened and my eyes darted to my two opponents. As we all studied one another lightning lit up the area around us. Which highlighted our features and made our eyes glow.

I was in bad shape and I knew it. I was pretty sure I had broken yet another finger, my hands were shaking, the left side of my face was burning, and I was exhausted. Yet...I had never felt so alive.

I bit my lip until I tasted blood. I just had to last a little longer. Just a little longer.

Thunder boomed.

Lighting shot across the dark sky.

Our eyes darted to one another.

Studying...

Calculating...

Waiting...

We an anger cry I stalked forward.

With a battle cry Natsu ran forward.

Without a sound Laxus rushed forward.

We all met in the middle.

I lashed out and kicked Natsu in the stomach. I spun and delivered a crushing blow to Laxus's nose. I crouched down when I felt something hot come toward me. I swiped my leg and took Natsu's feet out from under him. I heard his body hit the ground and I spun back to Laxus.

He had already recovered and he was coming at me with his fist crackling. I leaped away and did a spinning kick in the air. My foot cracked against the side of his head.

His head snapped to the side and he staggered away from me. I turned back around to fight Natsu but he was gone. My eye darted around but I didn't see him.

He came at me from my blind spot. I spun to face him but I was to slow. His fist was already coming for me. All I could do was try to block it. Natsu and I locked eyes/eye and I saw something flash in his green eyes when he saw my blind eye. Just as his fist was only an inch away he switched directions. Natsu's flaming fist went past my face and instead hit Laxus, who had been coming up behind me.

I let out a small breath as our eyes/eye locked for a splint second. He hadn't taken the blow. He could have taken me out right then and there...but he hadn't.

I was shocked...confused...and completely open. Laxus saw me open and went for it. I had just one second to move. I kicked off the ground and flipped over Laxus.

I landed behind him and prepared myself for his next attack or Natsu's attack. Only Laxus didn't come for me, he went for Natsu. Laxus sent multiply little bolts of lighting toward the Fire Dragon Slayer.

Natsu punched, dodged, and flipped out of the way of them. At one point, when Natsu punched through a rather big one, smoke went up. I moved out of the way so I could see what was going on.

Something in me seemed to stop. Natsu was trying to see through the smoke and because of that he didn't see what was going on behind him.

Laxus had emerged from the smoke and was putting his hands together. He began to create a massive ball of crackling golden lightning. Laxus then sent the huge bolt toward Natsu.
He had no idea what was coming at him. That amount of lightning...that much Magic power...it could cause massive injury.

Before I knew what I was even doing I was running toward Natsu. He saw me coming and got into a battle position. I ran past him, slid in front of him, and brought up my daggers.

I slid back when the lightning slammed into my daggers. I gritted my teeth against the force of it and held my ground. The hilts of my daggers dug into the palm of my hands and I felt wetness seep onto the hilts.

With a scream I slashed my daggers to either side of each other. Sending the lightning away from us and into the ground. My shoulders slumped and I nearly dropped my twin daggers. I was running out of Magic Power. I glanced over my shoulder at the shocked looking Natsu. "Fey..." He muttered, using that nickname that he had given me so long ago.

My thoughts from the train ride came flooding back to me. I had protected him. Without even thinking I had protected him...and I knew I would do it again in a heartbeat. Ha, looks like I kept my little promise.

With a growl I grabbed his scarf and pushed him away from me. I spun, rushed toward Laxus, dodging the lightning that he sent my way, and when I was close enough to him, I slid underneath his legs.

I flipped back up to my feet and spun around. Just as Laxus also began to turn around to face me. With a screech I slashed the flat of my dagger against his chest, where his heart would be. My powerful blow made him gasp and clutch at his chest. I had left him breathless.

Laxus was completely open.

I went low and swiped my foot under his. Laxus's feet gave out and he fell onto his back. I landed on top of his chest and put both my daggers to his throat.

Laxus's eyes widened for a fraction of a second but I caught it. He was surprised. Surprised that a girl, half blind, took him out.
I leaned in close to him and muttered softly, "If you didn't bear the Mark of Fairy Tail," I leaned in closer till I could see my reflection in his eyes, "Then you would be dead at my feet."

His eyes flashed but he didn't move. I slowly withdrew my daggers and stood up. Laxus stayed on the ground a moment longer, then stood up.

We eyed each other for a moment then he nodded his head at me. With that he stalked back to the crowd with a flap of his coat. I took a shaky breath and glanced over my shoulder at my last opponent...Natsu...

It is down to two! Who's gonna win?! Who knows! Well I know but I can't tell you nothin!
