The Three Dragon Slayers & I

I didn't waste any time. I headed straight for my most powerful opponent, Laxus Dreyar, the Lightning Dragon Slayer. His body was completely relaxed and his hands were still in his pockets. I saw his eyes dart to me and I knew what was coming.

Lightning flashed in front of my face. I dodged to the right. Then I dodged to the left when he sent another lightning strike at me. I ran at him again. I was closing the distance between us when I sensed something coming at me.

I stopped so abruptly that my hair went flying in front of me. Iron shot so close to my face that when I looked at it, my reflection was staring back at me.
I let out a small breath and turned my gaze to my right. Gajeel was there, his arm had turned into iron, and he had extended it. Right now his ironclad arm was in my way.

I didn't like it when things were in my way of me and my target.

I titled my head down and my hair fell to cover my face. "Gajeel, would you kindly...lower your arm?" I said, trying to control my voice. Gajeel laughed, "Just cause you're a chick, don't mean I'm gonna go easy on ya." I chuckled and lifted my head. "I wouldn't want it any other way." I was in his face faster than he could track.

I brought up my fist and hit him in an uppercut to the jaw. His head snapped back and he staggered back. I rushed forward and brought up my knee. Before my knee could connect with his chest, lightning flashed between us. On instinct I crossed my arms across my face and closed my eyes.

The lightning hit the ground, missing us by inches, it exploded in our faces. I flew back from the blast and the breath was knocked out of me when I hit the ground. My eyes snapped open and I rolled. A second later lightning hit the spot where I had just been. I leaped up off the ground and faced Laxus.

His hands were out of his pockets and his posture had changed. He was now alert. To my right Gajeel was getting up from the ground from Laxus's attack. I was seconds away from going after Laxus again when I heard a spell being chanted.

"Fire Dragon's: Roar!"

Flames shot toward Laxus. I watched as The Lightning Dragon Slayer stared at the flames that were coming at him with an indifferent look on his face. The flames were only a few inches away from hitting him when he very slightly widened his eyes.

Lightning surrounded him and shot towards the flames. They clashed together in a brilliant light. In the end neither element won. They both exploded and smoke obscured my vision from the Slayers.

I stayed still and listened.

I didn't hear anything.

No movement.

No footsteps.

Not even any ones breathing.

Then I heard it.

Someone was sneaking up behind me. I was about to spin and deliver a hard kick when I felt another presence coming in on my right. Then I felt another coming in on my left. They were trying to ambush me...Smart.

I took a breath and waited for their attack. The first attack came from behind me.
Strong arms wrapped around my middle and my arms. Natsu. I kicked of the ground and leaned back. I was trying to shift my weight and bring him down.

As I was struggling to get free movement from my right caught my attention. Gajeel. I spun my body and kicked out. I heard a grunt and knew that my foot had made contact.

Natsu still had me in his arms and I couldn't get free. I could do only one thing. This was gonna hurt. I sucked in a breath and cracked my head back. The back of my head hit him right in the nose. I heard Natsu shout and he left go of me.

Just in time.

Gajeel was making another move on me. He brought up his foot and kicked out. I spun and grabbed his foot that was now iron. I jerked his foot forward and I could finally see his surprised face. I clenched my hand into a fist and struck out.

Before my fist could connect with his face an arm shot out from the smoke and grabbed my arm. Which stopped my fatal blow. Laxus. I growled in annoyance and brought up my leg.

I kicked out and it connected with Laxus's knee. I felt him go down with the blow. Gajeel's ironclad leg was still in my hold. I turned back to him and only had a second to prepare myself.

I tried to block Gajeel's fist but I was too slow. His fist hit me in the chest and I flew back with the blow. I hit the ground hard and rolled with the impact. I laid there, trying to get my breath back. I started to cough breathlessly.

I couldn't breath.

I wouldn't have been surprised to find out that Gajeel had broken or damaged one of my ribs. I would have to deal with that later. I gasped for breath just as the smoke cleared away. Natsu was in a battle with Laxus while Gajeel looked like he was trying to battle both of them.

I was being left out.

Not fair.

With a grunt I lifted myself off the ground. My chest and lungs ached from the blow Gajeel had landed on me. I laughed breathlessly, "That's your one, Gajeel." I unsteadily got to my feet and swayed a little. With a quick shake of my head, I took off toward my three opponents.

Time for the real battle too begin.
