Chapter 11: Twin Daggers

Twin Daggers

My necklace glowed brighter and brighter until the blue light was all that I could see. The light exploded from within my necklace and shot out in front of me. In the light were two twin daggers. I held my hands, palm up, out to them. The blue light vanished and the daggers fell into the palm of my hands. I clutched them tight and stalked toward the tiger.

The Shape Shifter saw me and opened its mouth. Natsu's arm fell limply away and blood was pouring freely from the wound.

Oh, now I was pissed.

I flew at the tiger and the tiger leaped for me. It raised its paw and I raised my dagger. I slashed down and passed by the big cat. We both landed a few feet away from each other. I looked over my shoulder at it and it did the same. I chuckled darkly. The tiger's left paw was gone. I flicked my dagger and the tiger's blood flew away.

"I'll teach you to mess with my friend." I said calmly.

The tiger growled and began to transform into something else. Ha, like I was going to let it do that. I rushed forward and slashed my dagger across its side. It let out an inhuman screech and backed away from me. The tiger looked at me then its blue eyes flashed to my daggers. "Here kitty, kitty, kitty." I sang while I beckoned to it with one of my daggers.

It leaped toward me and I was ready to sink my dagger into its throat. Only in mid leap the tiger changed its course. It leaped around me and ran to...Natsu. "NO!" I screamed as I took off after the bleeding tiger.

It couldn't run as fast due to its missing paw but it was still ahead of me by a few feet. Natsu looked up from his bleeding arm and narrowed his eyes that were full of pain, at the tiger. No, not him! I pounded after the tiger as Natsu lit his fist on fire, the flame was so weak looking. With a cry I flung my dagger and it sank into the tiger's back paw.

The tiger lost its balance and fell onto its side. I raced up to it and prepared to throw my second dagger into its skull. The tiger shot up from the ground and leaped for me. I had barely any time to get out of the way.

The tiger's claws sink into my flesh. I screamed when the tiger's claws ripped into my side. I took my dagger and with a slice, severed its other paw. The paw tumbled to the ground and out of my side. I held my side as the tiger and I stared at one another. We were both breathing heavily and badly injured.

I let out a groan of pain when my fingers brushed against something buried in my side.

I didn't look though, not yet.

The tiger and I locked eyes.

It's soulless blue against my icy blue.

We attacked. I flung my dagger and it sank into the tiger's chest. The tiger slowed but didn't stop. I took a calming breath and whispered.

"Twist."

My dagger obeyed and twisted itself deeper into the beast's chest. With a final, breathless roar, the tiger fell to the ground. It was dead before its white body hit the ground.

"Come."

I told my daggers. They both dislodged themselves from the tiger's body and came flying to the palm of my hands. I caught them and sent them back to my necklace. With a flash of blue light, they were gone. I sighed heavily and stumbled over to Natsu. I fell to my knees in front of him and I sucked in a sharp breath when my side flared up with pain.

"Natsu...?" I said breathlessly. His eyes were closed and he was holding his bleeding arm. He blinked one eye open and smiled a small smile. "Fey...you okay?" I looked at him with a shocked expression. "Your worried about me?" And not yourself? He shook his head weakly, "Y-you don't look so good...Fey."

His eye closed and with a small sigh, he began to fall forward. I opened up one arm and caught him. "Natsu, stay awake. You have to stay awake..." I told him, even as my own eyes became heavy.

Noise...behind me... I slowly looked over my shoulder and noticed a single silhouette running toward us. I bared my teeth at it and hugged Natsu closer to me. The person kept coming closer and before I knew it Natsu was being pried out of my arms. I shouted out his name and made a grab for him.

But I just fell onto my other side when sharp pain exploded through me. As my eyes began to fall shut I saw the silhouette put Natsu flat on the ground. The silhouette began dinging for something in his bag and pulled something out. The shadow then put that something around Natsu's bleeding arm.

"Help him." I mumbled out.

Then I was out.
