Chapter 11

Silence occured between the two powerful mutants as they stared down at each other, waiting for the other's movement.

"What?" Shock was evident on Charles' face as he gave the brunette mutant an odd expression.

Erik sighed and crossed his arms, "My children are in this school and I would like to meet them with your permission."

"I'm sorry, did you say children?" The red-head mutant tilted his head, thinking he had heard it wrong but much to his dismay, he didn't.

"No, Charles," he paused, seeing his old friend's reaction. "I want to see my children."

Charles pursed his lips, "And you know where they are?"

"They seemed to be at the school's entrance like the other students," Erik told him as he glanced outside the window near him.

Charles frowned and narrowed his eyes. He didn't know that Erik has more than one child that was still alive. As far as the mind reader had known, Peter Maximoff was the only surviving child of Erik.

The ginger haired mutant figured this information out when he noticed the similarites between the two mutants and carefully calculated the possibilites of them being related.....with the help of his trustworthy friend, Hank McCoy.

"Do you know who my children are?" The rough but demanding voice of Erik Lehnsherr snapped Charles out of his trance as he met the brown haired mutant's gaze, debating whether or not he should tell the truth.

"No," he deadpanned.

"Really?" Erik raised his eyebrow.

Charles nodded, "I don't know who your children may be, Erik, but I wish you the best of luck to find them and I will grant you permission to meet your.....children."

The deadly blue-eyed mutant grinned in delight, "Thank you, Charles."

"If I may ask," Charles began, "how did you even know that you have more children other than Nina?" Erik flinched slightly at the mention of his deceased daughter but nonetheless answered, "I ran into a police with my acquaintance who has the same power as you," Charles tilted his head in a questionable manner but the dark haired mutant ignored it, not wanting to give away too much information, "She said that the police was thinking about my daughter when we passed by him."

"Your other daughter is quite beautiful, Erik." The blue-eyed mutant remembered his friend's words that had stunned him. "Rosy cheeks, beautiful dark brown hair and remarkable blue eyes that shone like the beautiful stars in the night sky. The child seemed to be quite intelligent too, just like her father."

"but unlike you, she's not foolish or sensitive." Charles chuckled at that as his mind began to wonder about Erik's acquaintance. Who was she? What was her name? Does he know this friend of Erik's? What was the name of the police they had ran into? How did he know about his children? Had he adopted his daughter? Is she really in the mansion? If so, who could it be?

"What was her name?" He inquired.

"I can't tell,"

"Why not?" Charles raised his eyebrow.

"She doesn't want me to tell you," Erik simply replied.

"Because she has never met me yet?" He asked suggestively.

"No," the dark haired mutant paused, "it's because you are a man with secrets and she doesn't want you to know one of hers."

"And you're not?"

"I am, but most of my secrets are either hidden from me or is out in the open." He replied.

Charles frowned. "Is one of them about your other daughter and son?"

"You can say that," Erik sighed, "I don't know what they are like, Charles. Their favourite food, favourite hobby, close friends and their personalities." He frowned. "I don't even know what one of my daughters look like. And I'm really hoping to see what she looks like before she-" Erik swallowed hard and didn't finish his sentence, remembering what had happened to one of his daughters, little Nina.

Charles noticed this too and gulped before he sighing in defeat, "I think I know something that could help you find your daughter."

Erik's lips curled into a grin and gestured him to continue, knowing that he was able to guilt trap the mind reader into revealing something.

***

"You're doomed," was the first sentence Teresa and Peter had heard from Jean ever since the school entrance incident.

"What?" Peter inquired with a confused expression since the remark was directly meant for him.

"It's Charles and Erik," she paused, seeing the silver haired mutant's stunned expression, "He already knows about your parentage from Charles and he seemed to be planning on using you."

"But had Erik not known about Peter's parentage?" Warren questioned, glancing at the older mutant.

"He suspected it," Teresa corrected him as she opened her can of soda and poured it into a glass beside her, "He just wanted Charles to confirm his suspicion and loyalty."

"Loyalty?"

"Erik had wondered if Charles was going to tell him the truth," the mind reader spoke up, "and he did."

"But why? And how exactly is he going to use Peter?" Warren asked.

"He's going to use Peter as a bait," Jean informed them. "Erik does not want to take advantage of Peter or his powers but rather the knowledge that he has within his mind."

Warren snorted before bursting into laughter, "Jean! You're talking about a guy who can't even remember where he left his other sock."

"As if you're better! You lost both of your socks in that stinky room of yours." Peter replied back.

"It's not stinky!"

"Yes, it is!"

"Either way!" Jean exclaimed loudly, interrupting the two boys before they started fighting, "We do not need to know any of that and if either of you want to know, Erik is planning on using Peter to find his daughter."

"Daughter?" Both Peter and Warren asked at the same time, before glaring at the other. Teresa ignored the two mutants and narrowed her eyes at Jean.

"Erik Lehnsherr only has one daughter and she had passed away the very same day as her mother," she said firmly.

"And do you have evidence of this?" Warren raised his eyebrow.

"No, but if you had paid attention, he had fought along side with Apocalypse and you several months ago. One of the main reasons why he joined in the first place was to seek revenge for his family. Nothing more, nothing less."

"Well, that's what I thought too," Jean stated, glancing at the students near them, "until I read Erik's mind."

"But how?" Peter asked, raising his eyebrow and taking a sip of Teresa's glass of soda, much to her dismay. "Hank said that they were talking in a private room across the school's entrance."

"It's simple really," Teresa snatched back her drink and finished it within a few minutes, as Warren stared at her with a bewildered expression. "she's a powerful mutant who can read anyone's mind, even if the person is across the school."

"That's not entirely true," the mind reader said, tilting her head slightly in disagreement, "It really depends if I want to read anyone's mind or their thoughts would automatically get into my head because I sometimes can't control it."

"Most of the times," added Warren.

"Don't start," Jean warned the winged mutant as he raised his hands up in surrender. "Seeing as Erik is going to question you, it would seemed that he suspected that you know who his other daughter is."

Teresa hummed in agreement, turning to him. "After all, you are Magneto's son."

"....Wait, what?!"

***

Warren continued to stare at Teresa with a shocked expression as the three mutants headed towards the school's entrance. Peter were behind them, holding various bags of popcorn for some reasons. "So are we all just going to ignore the fact that Teresa just revealed that Peter is Magneto's son?!"

"I thought you already know that," remarked Peter.

"How am I supposed to already know that when no one ever told me this information?!" Teresa raised her eyebrow.

"Well then, Scott must've forgotten to tell you this because Peter had already told Ororo and Jean too."

"You trusted Scott Summers to tell me this very important information?!" Warren exclaimed.

"I specifically remembered telling Jean last week to tell you this but she was busy helping the younger students with their homework and Scott was the only person available since I couldn't seemed to find Teresa anywhere."

Teresa shrugged, "I was going out with Lion for his daily walk. You know how he gets when he doesn't get it."

"And the most important thing is," Jean began, "Warren already knows about Peter's biological father."

"Does that mean I can know that information too?" A familiar figure walked up towards them, as blood rushed down from Peter's face, shock was evident in his eyes.

Teresa and Warren narrowed their eyes at the deadly mutant. Jean held a straight posture to make it seem as if she was prepared to defend Peter.

"I'd like to have a word with my son please," Erik stated, walking passed by Jean.

Stopping when the deadly mutant was right in front of Peter, he wore a grin and glanced at the three other mutants.

"In private," he added.

Teresa looked down and walked away, as Warren stared at her with a bewildered expression and followed her, seemingly shocked and confused that she doesn't want to fight back. Jean just nodded in approval as she glanced at the two mutants, before leaving them alone in the empty school's entrance.

Erik hummed lightly, "They are not as protective as you think they are."

"They are," Peter disagreed, "all of us just knew that you would be questioning me either way with or without Charles' permission."

"You must've learned that from your sister," he grinned in delight. "I'm glad to know you're getting along with her."

"Which sister?" Peter questioned, but quickly shut his mouth after seeing Erik's dark eyes.

"What are you doing?" Warren hissed as Teresa walked towards the kitchen with a blank expression. "We're supposed to prevent Erik from questioning Peter about his supposedly lost daughter."

She paused and turned to him, "You don't believe what Jean was saying?"

"I do," he nodded furiously, "but I'm still in disbelief."

The young mutant made a sound of disapproval and took an ice pack out of the large refridgerator. "Even though I'm in disbelief, we should be doing our best to prevent Erik from coming closer to Peter, especially since he knows about his real identity."

"You said it once, you don't need to say it twice." Warren sighed in annoyance.

"Peter knew that he would be getting questioned by his biological father sooner or later," she said, slamming the refridgerator shut, "Jean and I decided to respect Peter's decision, so we stepped aside and let things happened."

"Is this another thing that you girls know that I don't?"

"Oh, we thought you know that because you have a brain that helps you think." Teresa replied, walking away from the kitchen.

"So what? You and Jean decide to give up?" Warren exclaimed, following after her.

"You're arguing with me as if it was the end of the world," she bluntly said.

"It might be for Magneto's other daughter," he replied back.

"And why exactly do you care so much for Erik's daughter?" Warren stared at the young mutant with a stunned expression as realization dawned onto him like a wave. He had no idea who Erik Lehnsherr's daughter was, yet he was concern for him to find out who she was. It was pretty weird if Warren was being honest with himself. However, he didn't seem to care much about Erik's other daughter but rather Teresa's behaviour towards the situation. The winged mutant had known Teresa for quite some time and he knew that she wouldn't behave the way that she's behaving right now, which made him quite concern.

"You have not been acting yourself since Erik Lehnsherr walked onto the grounds of the school," he stated, "you're worried and.... nervous."

Teresa lost it when she saw Warren's worried expression and threw her hands up in disbelief. "Why are you like this?" She exclaimed, confusing the other mutant.

"Wha-"

"I had only began worrying for a few seconds and you're acting as if something bad was going to happen, as if you trust me so much that you believe that if I began worrying, it would somewhat be the end of the world!" The young mutant bursted out as a white glass near them exploded into pieces, startling Warren but Teresa paid no attention to it and continued, "People expect me to keep a straight face whenever there is trouble, so that it assures them that nothing bad is going to happen. But when I slip up for a few minutes, everyone would panic and think something is going on!"

"I-"

"And you're just like everybody else," Teresa spat out, as the kitchen windows flew open, the strong wind coming inside of the room, "only my close friends would not react. Only my closest friends would try to comfort me instead of worrying with me."

Teresa relaxed slightly before calming down as the gush of wind turned soft and blew a strand of her hair away. "But you are not one of my close friends," she said softly, moving towards him, "and that's why I trust Scott more."

With that, the young mutant left the winged mutant alone in the kitchen as he watched after her, still stunned.

Her volume was barely even a whisper but he heard the echoes of her words like a scream in his head. Her words had struck him like lightning or thunder, he didn't know which one because the echoes were slowly making his mind dizzy and tired. Even as he grabbed and tried to drink a glass of water, it ended up falling from his grip, just like how risky he was at questioning one of his close friends about something that might've been personal to them. His breath hitched as his wings flapped continously in an attempt to seek comfort, which had only led to several objects getting knocked down.

Black spots started surrounding Warren's vision as he breathed heavily, sighing loudly when he dropped onto the floor with a thud.

"Stay awake," the mutant swore that he had heard his close friend's soothing voice and as much as he tried, Warren couldn't help but welcome the darkness into his world.

***

"I told you that this was a bad idea," Hank muttered beside Charles as he sighed and touched his face with his clean hand, carefully watching the unconscious mutant on the clinic bed.

"Erik wasn't the one who made him unconscious," Charles argued.

"But he was one of the reasons why Teresa and him got into a fight," Hank stated.

"But what exactly caused him to faint?"

"That's the problem, we don't entirely know." Hank replied, moving closer to the winged mutant. "Sofia told me that Teresa feared that she might have lost control of her mysterious powers," he squinted his eyes as Warren's wings started to move around, "which made sense, seeing as the doctors couldn't find out what was causing Warren to supposedly have a fatigue in the first place."

"Are you both done talking to each other as if I'm not here?" An irritated yet calm voice asked, stepping out of the darkness and into the light, as the two mutants glanced at her. "Because if you're done, I would like both of you to move out of the way."

"Is that a question?" Charles furrowed his eyebrows.

"It's a demand," responded Teresa.

Hank sighed, his gaze falling onto the beautiful two white flowers that Teresa was holding, her grip tight but not tight enough to crush the flowers'.

White roses. He thought to himself and noted that those looked exactly like the ones in Sofia's room. Noticing the teacher's gaze on the flowers, the young mutant spoke, "Sofia wants to give Warren these flowers as she thinks of it as a good luck charm and a gift for him to get better."

"How did you find those flowers?" Charles asked curiously. "Those are hard to find at the stores,"

"Yeah, I noticed," she replied, placing them into the white and delicate vase on the small table besides Warren's bed, "Someone keeps on sending these.... letters to me and say things that doesn't make sense."

Charles chuckled and opened his mouth, wanting to say something, until Teresa interrupted and said, "I suspect that the person who keeps on sending me those letters is the mysterious mutant Sofia had seen outside of the school."

"What mysterious mutant?" Hank inquired with a confused expression.

"The mutant with red eyes that Sofia had once seen outside of the school before she fainted and it was not a student at school because he was an adult," the young mutant crossed her arms as the two adult mutants glanced at each other worriedly.

"And you didn't think to tell us or an adult?" Hank questioned, trying to stay calm to prevent himself from turning into the Beast.

"I'm telling you now, aren't I?" she spoke.

Hank sighed at the mutant's stubborness. "Erik had destroyed the gates. A lone mutant must've noticed this and took advantage of it." Charles muttered, silently scolding his old friend for what he had done.

"Oh, I doubt that," Teresa spoke up, "He sent me three letters before Erik had even gotten to the school,"

"Well then, someone must've seen him!" Hank exclaimed. "He couldn't have been on the school grounds without anyone knowing."

"And you're correct," a familiar voice echoed around the huge clinic, "I had spotted him behind a tree during midnight."

"What are you doing here?!" Teresa hissed, her volume barely a whisper, as she glared at the mutant, who had foolishly decided to walk in on the three mutants talking about something important.

"I'm only here to see a friend, but it looks like a few others know the mysterious mutant that Lion had not attacked too." Scott cooly said.

"And what were you doing at midnight?" Teresa immediately knew that Scott had been caught red-handed when she saw him slowly turning to Charles and Hank, only to see their stern look. And she had to force herself to hold back a chuckle when he started stuttering, trying to come up with an excuse, although it was pretty obvious to the two adults that he had tried to sneak out of the school.

"You had not thought of telling an adult about this, Scott?" Hank inquired, his eyebrows furrowed.

"Hank, we're teenagers," a raspy and deep voice spoke up, "We're bound to break a few rules once in a while."

"Warren!" Hank rushed to the winged mutant.

"How are you feeling?" Charles inquired, moving closer to Warren's clinic bed as he shifted comfortably in between the clean white sheets.

"I could've been worse," he shrugged, "If that's even possible,"

"Teresa said that there's a chance that you may be put into a coma-" Hank narrowed his eyes at him. "But yeah, it could've been much worse."

Turning to Teresa, Warren grinned and wiggled his eyebrow as if waiting for her to apologize to him.

Teresa rolled her eyes and sighed, "I regretted nothing,"

Warren rolled his eyes. "Of course you don't," he hummed, "but you owe me some McDonalds because I'm starving."

"Seems like a good choice," Hank remarked, writing something down onto his notebook. "You need some food to give your body the energy it needs, then perhaps, you are able to wander around the school again."

"Are you saying that I could leave the clinic already?" Warren's eyes glint with excitement.

"Yes," Hank continued, "but you need to eat some food first and you're only allowed to wander around the school under someone's supervision to make sure you don't get another injury or fall unconscious again."

Warren groaned. "Who will be watching after me while Teresa and Scott are off getting my McDonalds?"

Scott and Teresa glanced at each other with a knowing look. "Why are you guys glancing at each other?" He grinned wickedly as Warren's eyes widen, seemingly knowing who they would pick to watch over him.

***

"Are you sure he's going to be okay?" Teresa inquired, looking back at the school, as Scott grinned and started the engine.

"He'll be fine," he reassured her, "Kurt will take good care of him."

"SCOTT SUMMERS!!" The two mutants heard a familiar roar from the school and glanced at each other.

"That's our cue to go," Scott exclaimed and drove off.

"Why didn't we just ask Jean to look after Warren?" Teresa questioned, curiousity written all over her face.

Scott grimaced. "Lately, Jean has been stressing out about her powers." He informed her. "I'm not entirely sure what her problem is, but I don't want to disturb her by asking her to babysit Warren, especially since she's a bit worried about Peter and Erik."

"Speaking of Peter, is Erik finished interrogating him?" The young mutant inquired.

"I doubt he is," Scott grimaced again, "Charles is planning on letting Erik to stay in the mansion a little longer,"

"How long exactly?"

"Around two more weeks," he responded.

Teresa frowned but stayed silent, staring at Scott, who was humming to the tune in the radio. "What do the kids think about that?" She asked again, leaning her head back.

Scott frowned and turn down the volume of the music. "Well, they don't know about it yet," he paused and focused on the road, "Charles doesn't want them to get frightened,"

"But some of the kids are suspecting that, aren't they?" He nodded in response.

"Sofia and Lily were the first kids to know about it," Scott informed her.

Teresa chuckled. "Sofia is smart enough to find out about these things,"

"Lily was slightly scared about the whole situation, but Sofia comforted and reassured her that it's going to be alright." He told her.

"Sounds like something Sofia would do," she nodded in approval.

Teresa closed her eyes and leaned against the car seat, feeling slightly exhausted, as she felt the sun's heat under her gaze. She sighed and turned to the side before covering her face with her hand.

But her peaceful moment was interrupted when Scott called her name.

Teresa sat up and glanced at the fellow mutant. "What is it?" She questioned.

"I have a bad feeling about going to McDonalds for some reasons," he frowned before gulping, feeling very nervous.

Teresa stared at Scott as he continued, "I know that it might sound weird and all, but I just have a bad feeling," he paused.

"I'm only telling you this because I need your opinion about it," Scott furrowed his eyebrows, waiting for her to respond.

"Well," the beautiful blue eyed mutant started, "I think that we should trust your feeling, Scott." His shoulders relaxed slightly. "If you have a bad feeling about it, we can just make Warren some soup when we get back to the mansion." She told him.

Even though Teresa didn't have a bad feeling about going to McDonalds, she respects Scott's feeling about something and besides, it's better to be safe than sorry.

"Thanks Teresa," Scott muttered, "I'm just slightly worried sometimes you know."

"That something bad is going to happen?" She asked.

"Yeah," he trailed off, "you could say that."

"Wha-" Teresa's words were interrupted by a loud boom and a powerful force that knocked the two teenagers. Flame conquered the car before it destroyed it and exploded into pieces.

"Teresa?" Scott moaned in pain as he lied on his back before touching his head, since it was the place where it hurts the most, and froze when he saw his crimson red blood on his fingers. "Teresa?" He called her again, reaching out towards the unconscious mutant laying near him. "Hey, you're going to be okay." He moved her head to the side to see her face covered with dirt and ash but what horrified Scott the most was the large red gash on her face. "You're going to be okay," the mutant repeated a few times in an attempt to calm the unconscious mutant down but he knew that he was actually trying to calm himself down.

Scott looked down at her with his cracked red visors that was thankfully not broken and confusion was held in his eyes. The large cut on her face was no longer red and was slowly improving faster than a normal human should- or mutant.

This must be one of her powers. Scott thought to himself before he lied on the dirty ground in exhaustion, crimson blood was evident on the road, making it look like a bloody crime scene, but it really wasn't.
