The next day, the ninja were training, bright and early. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping. The clouds ahead moved slowly and swiftly. It was quite a lovely morning. Cole had just woken up, beside Kai. he remembered the previous events, the first kiss. He blushed.

His arm was tightly wrapped around Kai, and Kai woke up. He looked up at his lover as Cole’s heart skipped a beat. How did he become so lucky to have such a handsome lover? Kai smiled and leaned up, kissing Cole. 

“Good morning.” he said, peacefully. Cole smiled. 

“Good morning, my flame.” Kai blushed at Cole’s nickname for him. “Sounds like the others are training.” Cole finished. 

Kai nodded. “We should probably join them.”

They got dressed and walked out of the room. They got some quick bacon that was set aside for them before joining the group in training. It was so bright outside, it temporarily blinded Cole, as he had to shield his eyes for a second. Soon, his eyes adjusted and he walked up to the group. 

“Sleep well, love birds?” Lloyd teased. 

“Yeah, you guys have been in bed all morning!” Jay complained. “While we have to be up and training!”

Kai rolled his eyes at Jay. “Oh, please. Like you and my SISTER didn’t do that the first week you were together!”

“Hello, Kai, Cole.” Wu said, coming out with some tea. “It is nice you finally joined us for the morning stretches.”

Cole was about to respond when suddenly, the monastery’s alarm went off. The ninja rush to the computer. “What is going on?” Nya  asked.

“Jamanakai Village is under attack.” Zane stated. 

“Again?” Jay complained. 

“Can’t these guys ever get a break?” Kai questioned.

“No time to debate it. Come on, let’s go!” Lloyd said. They all agreed and got into their ninja suits and left on the bounty to Jamanakai Village.

When they got there, the people were okay on the most part, just a bit shaken up. The buildings, however, were torn and crumbled. Lloyd approached one of the citizens, helping him up. “What happened here?” He questioned. 

“Th-the serpentine… they attacked. They were led by this large feminine snake and a larger guy. The guy had white scales with purple… they- they took it!” the guy said.

“Took what?” Jay panicked. “WHAT DID THEY TAKE?!?” 

“T-they took our sacred scroll…” A kid said, coming up. There was a woman with the kid.

“Sacred scroll?” Kai asked.

The woman nodded. “The sacred scroll was something we had to protect…  they are the elemental scrolls of the past elemental masters before you.”

The ninja were taken aback. The whole village seemed helpless. “Well, what does this sacred scroll do?” Cole questioned. 

“None of us know…” The old man said. “We just found it somewhere, and swore to protect it. And we failed…”

The ninja looked shocked at each other. “We need to figure this out and fast.”

The others nodded in agreement. “We should go to the archives.” Kai suggested. Cole smiled and squeezed Kai’s hand. 

“I love how smart you are!” He said in a mushy tone. His heart constantly swelled up with joy whenever Kai spoke. 

“Awe, well I love you!” Kai said, kissing Cole on the nose. Cole sighed in contentment. 

“And I love you.”

“Okay, we get it. You love each other.” Jay said, gagging. “Let’s get going before you make me barf.”

“Oh, please.” Kai snapped. “I don’t act like that when you and my sister are talking!”

“Yeah, because we don’t constantly be all goo goo-eyed.” 

Kai rolled his eyes and Cole scoffed.

“You know, Jay’s right.” Nya stated.

“Whatever.” Kai said, defeated. Cole held Kai’s hand and guided them back to the bounty. They had to get to the archives in the cloud kingdom. They had to figure out what that scroll could be used for. And soon.
