Also this is before the start of the series I guess??? Because we have MIA WOAH but there's no Mel or Zana. I couldn't think of a way to make their characters work plus the vibe I wanted DXD

"Yes?" The light-brown-haired boy's head shot up from his phone.

The other Eversingers also looked confused that one of their own hadn't said Michael's name.

Two nearby other Cipher students also looked up. They had been examining of of their own portable screens, which had a Doppler radar-looking image on it and was muttering some commentary that couldn't be distinguished from afar.

"Eh?" One of the students questioned a glanced over the crowd in confusion.

The other's gaze landed on the Eversingers boy and laughed. "Oh! We were talking about the hurricane! Not you, Michael," he explained.

"Ooooohhhhh," both Connor and Michael said at the same time, glancing at each before shrugging.

"I'm a hurricane?" The blue-eyed boy whispered to the Asian. Connor shrugged.

"Where have you been? That's like, all that's been on the news the last two days," Lucas noted.

Mia rolled her eyes at the boys. "Alright, sorry to bother you," she apologized for the entire band. Either she or Lucas were normally the ones to save the group from conflict, as Kylie was rather temperamental and most Ciphers ignored Connor's existence because he was a Magiclica. Michael was just not good at standing up for himself and would rather take a verbal beating than make a problem worse.

The two Ciphers smiled and waved it off.

"It's no problem! Have a good day! And- oh yeah! Good luck at your concert tomorrow, Eversingers!"

"Thanks!" Michael said as the small band continued on their way to their club room. A song popped into his head and he didn't realize he was humming it until Kylie snorted and said:

"Seriously? 'Riptide?' It's not 'Hurricane' but it's just as bad."

The other Eversingers also found this humorous as they failed to withhold giggles. Michael rolled his eyes.

"Best I could think of, alright?"

"It doesn't make any sense except for the title. You can do better," Connor stated.

This started a very intense conversation about song references and the usage of lyrics in a normal conversation. In between practicing for the local concert the band had tomorrow the debate was immediately picked up where it left off, with Connor and Kylie siding together against Michael and the siblings. Of course along with the song debate there was teasing of Michael's singleness and what Mia had dubbed "Conlie" and Lucas had dubbed "Kylor" which was a completely separate ongoing debate that the unofficial-but-everyone-knows-it's-real couple refused to take part in. After what seemed like no time at all their practice hour was over and the Eversingers had to split into their different classes once again.

Michael's phone buzzed in his pocket as his teacher lectured at the front of the class. He was going to ignore it until there was an explosion of odd vibrations blew up and it felt very strange against his thigh.

What in the world? Who could that be?

The ash-haired boy fished his phone out of his pocket and turned on the screen under his desk. He had only ever been caught once by this teacher early on in the year and although it was unlikely Michael would rather not be caught again.

There was a new post on the school Cipher's social media which had caused an onslaught of "XD" or "lol" or "rotfl" notifications to show up on his lock screen. A new notification appeared that caught Michael's interest on their group chat.

Alright I'll break the rules just this once, Michael thought with a humored grin and glanced to make sure the teacher wasn't looking before unlocking his phone. Immediately the Eversingers' chat greeted him as well as a horrid meme:

"Oh my GOSH," Michael wheezed under his breath. Who even did this?! He started rapidly poking at his phone screen.

Michael: Who created this
Michael: I need to praise but also yell at them
Michael: Who even has a picture of me to Photoshop like this?!?!?!?

Lucas: ...i was asked for a picture by Joseph the other day... that was the one I sent...

Mia: LUCAAAASSSSS

Lucas: HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?!

Mia: says the one boy who knew that the hurricane was names Michael

Lucas: ...
Lucas: At least Michael is famous now in multiple contexts
Lucas: taking the US by storm, one of the most powerful voices to sweep the nation since the 1800s

Michael: I AM NOT A HURRICANE!

Kylie: yeah guys

Connor: At least he has more than one eye, right?

At this point Michael was done with his friends. When puns were involved was when he left. His phone continued to buzz in his hand but he ignored it, copying down what he felt like he needed as notes from the board he had been lacking attention to.

Throughout the say the school Ciphers' Discord was filled with other various memes about hurricanes, some with the school's Michael, other Michaels like the one from the horror movie that was coming out soon, or multiple logos of the craft store in a poorly-edited spiral.

When Michael (after groaning internally at each new meme) finally went back to the Eversinger's Discord, he found a new channel specifically called "michael_memes."

"I am SO DONE guys!" He yellowed, slamming he phone onto the table and catching Connor's attention as he heard him laughing down the hall.
