Fix the Timeline
This is completely not canon but I was talking on the Discord and we came up with a totally absurd theory that Connor is from the future and has gone back in time to prevent Melissa from doing some drastic action that completely messes up the timeline??
It went from laughing at people thinking Jakey is Melissa to what if Connor is like her great-great-great grandchild gone back in time to stop her from trying to bring back Chase was what we decided but maybe not here XD

Connor knew a lot of things no one else did.
He knew the future, basically. He knew what happened in the next five, ten, fifty years. In fact, he knew what happened farther in the future better than what he knew was happening right now in this time. He knew the future not because of his power, but because he was quite literally from it. The things that were happening right now he knew through a textbook while he had heard the things from the future firsthand on the news.
The future sucked, by the way.
It really did. It was a constant war zone— a political apocalypse. The COM had grown paranoid and corrupt after the attempts of stealing the White Stone by the Spero, while the Spero themselves had grown to be their own powerhouse with people, both Magiclica and Cipher, fleeing the COM's tyranny to the dark safe haven to find themselves free of one danger and into the belly of another. The Spero after the first death of their leader had a new man take over, who truly brought the terrifying ideals of the criminal organization to reality.
But the future didn't have to be the constant fear and warfare Connor had grown up with. It wasn't supposed to be that way in the first place.
Connor was the blessing that his time needed. He was the savior to the future. His lineage had always been watched closely, and finally Connor was born as a pure-blooded Magiclica with none other than the power of time manipulation. He was the prefect solution to fix her mistake, he was told. He had grown up always hearing and preparing for his mission that had been decided by the rebels, to go back in time and fix the infamous sin done by Melissa Jane Harmony that everyone knew was the cause of the chaos they lived in. Connor would fix the mistake, erasing his original timeline in the process, and create a better future for everyone and he would continue living his life in the new timeline as if he weren't from the future.
Sounds easy, right?
Connor never expected things to be so difficult living in the past. The emotions that ran through his peers that people in his time seemed to lack, the complex relationships that were more than superior and employee. The friends he had made with the Eversingers Ciphers that were also his childhood friends' ancestors or the massive crush he had developed on the strong-willed lead singer.
He certainly never thought he could become one of the victims of the dark figure's coma spells after helping Kylie prove her innocence. He knew the person's identity from the start but had to make it look like he was figuring it out without outside information. But to be either so good or bad at acting that he made himself a target?
All Connor hoped now was that he was not too late to complete his last task from his family.
The date: September 8, 2025.
Exactly seven years after that fateful night. The night that was the most important event of the Magiclica world in twenty-first century. The night that the first leader of the Spero as well as the innocent Chase Walker were killed at an attempt to steal the White Stone, that the existence of Miscelas were revealed, that a hooded figure was apprehended.
Tonight would have been the next important night in Magiclica history, and not in a good way. Tonight would be the night that Melissa Harmony would attempt to bring back her dead lover by using black magic that she barely knew how to control and instead would release Ichiro Hamura to walk the living realm again. A corrupted undead soul to twist the lives of everyone he encountered and create an army of other previously-dead Magiclica warriors to end the conflict in one finalizing blow. That plan would ultimately fail, of course, but the rift that would be created would tear the world apart.
Connor was not going to let this happen.
He now crouched in a half-dead bush, hollow on the inside and just enough leaved the Asian boy knew he wouldn't be seen on the outskirts of the abandoned courtyard outside Everston. Even if he was seen, he could just rewind time and hide somewhere else.
A figure entered the empty courtyard, slim and graceful hidden under a long robe. But the pale blue hair that fell through the hood like a waterfall was a dead giveaway of the identity of the newcomer.
The woman glanced around before putting down her hood, revealing a beautiful, young face with a calm and stern expression.
Melissa put down a picnic basket and started taking out the supplies she had put together for her ceremony. Candles and matches, chalk, a book, and an object that was wrapped in a cloth yet still had right white light shine through the fabric.
Connor watched and waited. He had checked long before she had arrived at when to interrupt and had the best chance of success.
Melissa drew an oblong hexagon on the platform in the center of the plaza- a crude image of the White Stone. The candles were placed at the corners and lit. Then she unwrapped the glowing object. The canvas fell away to reveal a shining white shard, its light blinding when it wasn't even a fraction of the entire Stone. As she placed it on the ground it pulsed brighter, almost as if sensing something else that made it more powerful.
The grieving girl stepped back before taking a deep breath and muttering in Latin. Connor watched as her hands glowed her usual cyan and her frustrated expression as she finished her spell with no effect. She started again and this was when Connor stepped in.
"It's not going to work,"
Melissa's head shot up to look straight at the Asian boy. "What are you doing here?!" She demanded.
"It's not goin to work, Melissa, and you know it. That spell isn't intended for what you're using it for and you know your dark magic isn't strong enough to bring back Chase."
Her expression changed from surprised to thunderous in a split second. "What do you know, Connor? You were asleep when it happened! You don't know the pain of losing someone you love, someone who died protecting you!" She resided her hands and started her chant again.
Connor shook off the pang that went off in his heart, knowing that her selfishness was blinded by grief. He did know those feelings, to some extent. Not how she did, but he knew how it felt to be forced to be separated from someone he deeply cared for.
"Maybe not, but I know what's about to happen if you do this."
This caught the blue-haired girl's attention. She looked at him hopefully with her mouth open to say something before her face fell and she slowly let her magic fade away.
"It's not bringing back Chase, is it..."
Connor shook his head. "I wish..."
The Asian boy watched as the broken woman sunk to her knees in the center of her pseudo-pentagram and started sobbing.
"I-I just want t-to tell him- tell him I'm sorry. That I'm so so sorry..." she whispered. "I'm sorry f-for not telling him things, for taking him for granted, for hurting him like I did... I'm nothing but a monster..."
Another pang if guilt hit Connor. He never approved of Melissa's actions in high school, knowing that it was going to affect the future the way it did, but no matter what small things he set up and changed it all lead to the same outcome of her relationships and conflict.
He kneeled next to Melissa and placed a tentative hand on her shoulder. She threw her arms around him, sobbing into his shoulder. Connor was surprised to say the least but allowed her to let her emotions.
He heard the distant shouts of who sounded vaguely like Ivy and Quinston, although Connor couldn't tell sure after so long of not overhearing them in school.
"They're worried about you. You should go," Connor suggested. Melissa slowly looked toward where her friends were calling her name.
"I'm sorry..." she murmured aloud. Connor thought it might have been to him, but had a feeling it was more than a few people.
She rose as if rising from a grave, calm and contemplative before glancing around one more time and moving on.
As she left, a thousand possibilities of the future left Connor's mind.
He let a single tear fall as his friends and family left the sight of his power, the concept of him in that time deleted.
He had completed his mission.
