Beep [Kylie x Connor]

Request from @Midnightwolf70 !!! Whoooo first request?!

I know Jakey says that Connor has been deleted like Monika but he still exists in early episodes so I can still write him without being completely banned XD

And I know this isn't what you really requested but I had an idea and this goes off a possible theory I have?? Be prepared to scream at me just please no weapons or etabiatin senpaitonums or coma spells

A side note, one of my friends was telling me that the Magiclicas Amino only has like 3 members, so if you have Amino you should join and see if we can get a community going there!

Sorry if I'm spamming reposts, no matter how many times I op check there's always too many typos that I can either choose to fix and spam updates or unfortunately leave

Kylie sat beside Connor's bed in the school infirmary. She knew she should probably be closer to all the Eversingers that had been attacked, but she felt most worried about Connor.

And honesty, she hated that she felt this way.

They had broken up months ago! Just before Melissa came to the school and gotten Kylie all riled up, causing Connor to use his powers to convince her to let the other Magiclica try out for the club. It had been their first close interaction since they broke up, and Kylie hated that she still felt his lure in the timeless place, his safety and assurance and comfort that broke down all her spiked walls.

He hadn't even cared when she came clean about that kiss incident with Mia. It had been an accident for both those involved and they had sworn to never speak of it again, except that Ebony had seen and targeted Kylie for it. And even though they did what they had been advised to as Cipher and Magiclica and went their separate ways, he still stayed close as a friend to always support Kylie against her world when she needed it.

So for once Kylie should do the same.

The heart monitor paused for a moment longer than it had before in its constant metronome. Kylie looked at its screen oddly. There was definitely a more significant drop and spike in the green line.

Is that bad? Is he waking up?! Should I call the nurse? The woman in charge? What was her name, one of the Magiclica teachers... Canaday?

"Um, excuse me? Misses Canaday? Something happened with the heart monitor, I think you should maybe check it out," Kylie called hesitantly. The teacher hummed a response that she would be there in a few moments.

Kylie watched the heart monitor. It went normally, nothing out of the usual...

It dropped and spiked again. It was more significant then last time and Kylie frowned.

"Connor, what are you doing...?"

Is he waking up? I haven't been there yet when anyone else woke up. And Connor is one of the last people to wake, even Zana is up and about...

Connor's normally stoic face was created into a tense frown. Kylie hesitated before slowly reaching out and gently clasping one of his cool hands.

"Come on, Connor. We miss you. We need you. It's time for you to wake up, alright?"

Of course, Kylie knew the sleeping boy wouldn't respond.

Bee-

The tone cut off halfway through its sound. Kylie looked to the black and green screen again to see that the graph was frozen halfway through dropping back to normal.

"What the...?" Kylie breathed. Glancing around the room, the things that had been moving before were also all frozen in stasis.

He froze time. Why?

"Connor, what's going on...?"

She looked down at the Asian boy, searching for the answers to her concern.

She was not expecting his grey-blue eyes to be staring back at her.

Kylie jumped, nearly falling over in her chair beside his bed. Connor immediately reached out and grabbed her hand and pull her back.

And then they were holding hands like the did once more.

"I, I, um, sorry, oh gosh," Connor stuttered, immediately flushing red and looking away.

"It's alright, it's fine!" Kylie was looking at her feet, hating the way her crush bubbled up and told her what could never be once again.

Then Kylie replayed the scene in her head, and glanced back at Connor's hand. It was glowing a pale blue, almost the same color as his eyes.

He's still using his time powers. Why? Why is he awake so quickly? Is he even awake?

"What are you doing?" Kylie asked slowly. Connor looked back to meet her cornflower eyes.

"Nothing," he said just a little too quickly.

"Don't lie to me, Connor. You're using your power, which you almost never do."

He glanced down to his hand, his magic aura almost unnoticeable against the white sheets of the bed. His neutral face morphed into one of fear and pain in the blink of an eye, and Kylie immediately had to hold back the urge to comfort and protect him from whatever was causing him such distress.  She took his hand and gripped it once more, trying to convey her support without letting her words betray her.

"I wanted to say goodbye..." he whispered in a high, tight voice.

Kylie was immediately confused, concerned, and scared. "Goodbye?"

Connor looked to the wall in front of him.

"When we go back to normal time, I'm not going to be around anymore..."

"Duh, you're still in a coma, technically. The hooded figure got you at the musical after party. But don't worry, you'll wake up soon!" Kylie was trying to be positive, trying to be oblivious to what Connor was saying and ignoring the anguish cry in her heart.

His look bored into her soul, voiding any disillusions she has been trying to believe.

"I'm not going to wake up."

"No!" Kylie shot up from her seat. "You're not going to die! Misses Canaday said you'll wake up, that everyone will wake up! Scarlet, the janitor, Mia! Zana is already awake, and that girl that was attacked at the winter formal! You're going to be fine, and we can throw a big Eversinger party to celebrate everyone's return, and go back to normal!"

Connor grunted. "Canaday is a liar. A fat, deceiving liar. I hope she gets what she deserves. When we meet again, tell me how this mess turned out, alright?"

"Geez, that's a little extreme. But, yeah, alright, when you wake up I'll tell you how she did it." Kylie wondered why Connor suddenly felt so strongly against the teacher.

He chuckled and shook his head. "You don't even know. I wish I could tell you. But it's too risky. Even for you," he smiled and Kylie did too, knowing that they both knew how stubborn and rebellious she was.

"Let's stay here, I don't want to go back if it means you'll leave me," Kylie said quietly.

He shook his head, the smile still there and still bittersweet. "You know that's not possible. We were never meant to be together."

Connor leaned closer, so close that Kylie could feel his breath on her neck. Her pleading eyes fell half lidded as she gave into his comfort and farewell. He placed a soft, gentle kiss on her cheek like he did once upon a time before they split.

-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

A single, continuous tone marked the end of their timelessness. Miss Canaday was working frantically, messing with the IV bag attached to Connor's far arm and yelling incoherent words to no one.

His body fell away from Kylie, slightly askew on the pillow. His eyes were closed and there was still that sad smile, the last remnants of Kylie's relationship with him.

Miss Canaday fell silent and stepped back.

"There's nothing more to be done, I'm sorry..."

Yet as Kylie stared in horror at the scene, she saw no remorse in the teachers eyes. She watched as Canaday slowly undid the equipment on the boy.

The constant beep of the heart rate monitor fell silent.
