Morning came once more, and Hermione found herself waking up from what could only be the best sleep she's had in a long time. Stretching and yawning, she decided to take a nice relaxing bath. She felt like spoiling herself for a change.

Putting in the stopper and filling the tub with warm water, she uses her favorite scented soap and oils before getting in. She let out a sigh of content, before her expression changed to alarm. She looked down at herself and saw as her body turned into water before she could see herself again and her eyes widen.

Were her legs once were, a tail had taken their place and on her chest shells covered her breasts. The tail was so long, it hanged from the tub.

For once in a long time, her mind was coming up blank. Panic had set in and before she could realize what she's doing, a loud scream escaped her lips.

Her scream was so loud, it hid the other shout of panic and surprise coming from Harry's room.

With Harry:

Harry had woken up not long after, having slept well. He turned to look at Teddy, who had made his way to Harry's bed and there he slept. A smile grazed Harry's face as he passed a hand over his blue hair before walking to his bathroom.

He got his toothbrush and soaked it in some water before putting some toothpaste on it and brushing his teeth. After a decent and long brush, he rinses his mouth, using his hand to gather water. No sooner had he finished and looked at the mirror, a strange sensation covered his entire body. Looking down his eyes widen when his body turned into pure water and then solid, however he found himself falling on his side with a grunt.

Confused, he tried to get up only to realize his legs weren't working correctly. Looking down he saw why.

His legs were gone, replaced by a tail.

"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL!?" Harry shouts at the top of his lungs, at the same time that a scream sounded from Hermione's room.

After Andromeda found both of them in their current state, and after getting over the shock of discovering they had tails, she set about to levitate them to her bedroom and set them on her bed.

"What is happening? Why do you have tails? How do you have tails?" Andromeda fired in quick succession as she stared at them. Teddy, having been woken by the screaming and shouting, was looking at them in confusion but not fear, rather a bit of amazement.

"We don't know Andy. We've never had this happen to us! We don't have any aquatic creature genes or inheritance! All I know is that seconds after I touched water, my body became water and now I have a tail!" Hermione explains, shouting in confusion and fear.

"She's right Andy, the same happened to me. Seconds after touching water I grew a tail and I also can attest that we have no creature inheritance. We checked at Gringotts." Harry explains. Before he could say more, the sensation of his body becoming water was felt again. Worried, he looks at them in fear but the moment the sensations vanishes, he's back to normal. Completely dry. "How...?"

A gasp interrupted him. He turns to Hermione and sees her body turning to water before turning back to normal. Sadly, Hermione had been in the middle of a bath, so now that she was dry...she had no clothes.

Blushing madly, Harry quickly turns and covers Teddy's eyes as well. "I'm so sorry Hermione! I didn't mean to see!"

"It's...it's fine Harry. It was unexpected, for the both of us." Andromeda brings a bathrobe for her and she takes it before quickly leaving to get dressed. Harry sits up, holding his son on his lap and looking down, thinking on why and how this is happening. Just then, Hermione walks in and sits beside Harry.

"Hermione...what if this happened because of last night? From the Moon Pool?"

"Moon Pool?" Andromeda asks. "Alright, what happened last night after your little voyage to Mako?"

"Hermione and I got there a little before it was completely dark. We walked through the jungle for some time and then we reached this beautiful waterfall. Our magic was letting us know we were close," Harry explains, looking at Hermione as she nods in agreement and motions for him to continue. "We decided to take a break, when I fell down a hole. Turns out, it was an entrance to a cave. It was too steep to climb back out from the same hole I fell in, and before Hermione could lower a rope, I told her the cave was where we needed to be. I walked further in and Hermione soon joined me."

"It was beautiful Andy. We were in the middle of the volcano, looking up at the sky and in the middle of it all was a beautiful pool of the clearest blue water we've ever seen. It was inviting and mesmerizing. So we stepped in and floated around, waiting. For what? We didn't know. But then, the full moon was on top of the opening and the water started to bubble, sparkles floated into the air and all we did was take it all in. It was...peaceful."

Harry nods, a smile on his face as he remembers the feeling. "We stayed there until the moon passed completely over the dome and the water returned to normal. We decided to swim our way out rather then go through the jungle again and headed back here."

"So this cavern this...Moon Pool, is the cause for your sudden new tails?" Andromeda asks while pacing.

"We believe so. The Moon Pool and the full moon combined."

"It looks like your lives have gotten more interesting children."

Harry and Hermione both groan at the fact she was right. They now had something that will more than likely set them apart from anyone else.

"I guess we have to see what we are capable of doing now?" Harry asks as he gets up.

"How are you not worried about this Harry?" Andromeda asks as she looks at him as if he had grown two heads.

"Who says I'm not Andy? But at the same time, I know we will make it through this. Hermione and I both will have each other, with you and Teddy. We...we aren't as alone as we let ourselves believe we are and, knowing Hermione, a lot of research will be coming our way to find out how this came to happen. Though my answer is simple and probably the only explanation; Magic."

"Yes, but Harry there has to be more than just 'Magic' as the explanation."

"Well how about this? Mako Island and The Moon Pool were created when a lunar rock impacted Earth. Lunar rock could also be known as a form of asteroid or meteor, right?" Harry asks as he crosses his arms, looking at Hermione before continuing. "Going by what we know, the moon and other such astral bodies have big meaning for us. So, is it a far off theory that the island and moon both made from a meteor with something more?"

Harry finishes and waits for their input. Imagine his confusion when both Andromeda and Hermione were looking at him as if he were someone else. "What?"

"When did you get so smart Harry?"

"I believe it has something to do with having you for a best friend since First year and the Auror training. Mostly you though." He admits with a small blush, Hermione blushing as well.

"But, you never took your studies seriously."

"Because Ron was always pushing for me to have more fun than study, along with the fact that I was always in danger every year and if I did better, I feared you would have resented me." He admits to her in an honest and serious tone.

"I wouldn't have resented you Harry." She says and is confused when he gives her a serious look.

"Sixth year Potions."

Hermione had the decency to flush in embarrassed. "That shouldn't count. It wasn't your work."

"But it was the work of someone that knew potions better than the actual author. Potions is one of the classes where you also have to experiment in Hermione. See what could work as a substitute for an ingredient, what would make it last longer, make it stronger, change its taste, how long it would take. That's something I learned in Defense and in Auror training. You should know this seeing as you're a Healer and close to earning your Mastery in Runes and Warding Mione."

All she could do was turn red and look down.

After breakfast, they drove until they found a more secluded beach area were they could test out their newly given powers without fear of being discovered.

Andromeda and Teddy would stay at the beach and enjoy the time with one another after Harry and Hermione were ready to swim into deeper waters. Though Hermione did ask Andromeda to keep an eye on them so they could have memories from her point of view before they moved on.

"Alright, so when it happened the first time, it was a few seconds after touching water." Hermione states as she and Harry look out into the water before at one another. Harry offers his hand to her, which she take and make their way into the water. They only made it were the water was to their lower legs when they changed.

"Whoa!"

"Ahh!"

They fell on their stomachs and groaned before looking at one another and chuckled before looking down at their tails, taking in how they looked.

Hermione's tail color is orange color, that of a deep sunset with black and side fins with a pair of shells covering her chest with the same color. Almost like fire. Whereas Harry's was a light and dark blue color with black and a dorsal fin of sorts.

"Wow, Harry your tail is...amazing."

"Yours is as well Mione. As fiery as you are!" Harry says with a smile.

"Oh ha ha Harry-wait, Harry you can see clearly?"

"What do you mean Mione?"

"Harry you're not wearing your glasses!"

His eyes widen as he feels his face to find out that she was right. He wasn't wearing his glasses and could see perfectly. "Wow, brilliant!"

"Alright, so we now know we change after ten seconds of touching water. We basically lose all our normal clothes and you can see clearly without glasses."

"Mione, do you think we have powers now that we are merpeople?" Harry asks as he turns to his back and sits up, Hermione following suit.

"I don't know. I am curious to see if we can breathe underwater," Hermione admits.

"Well why don't we find out? Andy, we're heading out! If we don't see you here then we'll head home!"

"Alright. Be careful!"

With that, both Harry and Hermione swim a little into deeper water before they were able to float and then dived down into the water.

They could see clearly, no stinging in the eyes from the salt and the water was a nice warm temperature to them. Harry waved Hermione for her attention and then tried to breathe. Imagine his surprise when he found out he could!

He motioned for Hermione to breathe and she does, grinning at him when she can breathe just fine. They tried to speak but found they couldn't. She looks to the deeper water and motions for Harry. He nods and they both start to swim forward, finding it as easy as if they were walking on land.

Smiling they swim alongside one another and then Harry decides to see if he can go faster. The next thing he knows, he's soaring through the water before stopping and looking around and behind him, seeing Hermione was floating in place. He quickly swims back to her and stops right before her with a smile.

For her part, Hermione shakes her head and does the same as him, Harry following right behind.

They soon found themselves far from the mainland and deep in the ocean. Hermione, wanting to see more sea life, pointed in the direction of Mako. Nodding, they set out at high speeds, laughing in their minds when they make it to the reefs.

They swim with the fish and even the sharks in the area, they explore the corals and even blend to their surrounding easily. They swim to the surface and, after making sure there no boats around, breach it and laugh.

"This is amazing Mione!"

"Yes it is! It's so freeing!"

"Hey, why don't we head over to the Moon Pool now and then? Since we can get to it easier." Harry suggests, but before Hermione could answer, they both felt something heading their way. Fast.

They dive and hide behind the corals, being mindful to not give themselves away. Both peeked from the side of their hiding spot and are stunned.

Three figures with orange tails appear from a cloud of bubbles before slowly swimming towards the entrance of the Moon Pool.

Deciding it was time to leave, they turn and swim at high speeds away from Mako, both of them thinking the same thing.

'Those were the girls from the cafe, discussing about the full moon.'
