Hello Everyone Welcome Back to another Magical Girls Explained Video, Today will be Talking about The Second Main Character Yachiyo Nanami and Her Story & Info, I am Previous Video was on Iroha Tamaki, So Check That Out too, Anyways Let’s Get Started.

(General Info)

Yachiyo Nanmai is 19 Years Old She Formed a Contract to Become a Magical Girl at Age 12,
She is 165 Cm High, Her eyes & Hair are The Color Blue, And She is From The Shinsei Ward Of Kamihama City.

Her Soul Gem is a Blue Crescent Moon Located Beneath Her Chest as a Little Necklace.
Her Weapon is The Halberd, It is a Two-Headed Poll Weapon, A Weapon used in The 14th, 15th and 16th Centuries.

Her Witch and Doppel is Campanella, Her Wish is to Survive, “I want to Survive”, Her Known Family Members is Her Unnamed Grandmother who is not Deceased.

She Goes To Kamihama University she is in the 1st Year, Her Magical Girl Element is The Aqua Element, and Her Ability is To receive hope (take over the power of the deceased.

(Yachiyo’s Magical Girl Summary)

A seasoned Magical Girl who has fought witches for 7 years in Kamihama. Yachiyo is well informed about the city and Magical Girls in general. She keeps her distance from other Magical Girls while she compiles files on the Rumors of Kamihama City.

(Campanella Doppel Description)

Like Iroha, Yachyio’s Doppel has a 2020 Anime Card, As like before I’ll read them all out.

The anime card Reads,  The Doppel of ticket-taking. Her form is that of a ticket puncher. This Doppel is a replica of ticket-taking. When her soul gem turns black, both of Yachiyo's hands and her left leg transforms and assumes this form. Since the person who uses this Doppel has been a magical girl for a long time and is of a relatively older age than the other girls, the range of her emotions is considerably smaller compared to those of adolescent young girls. As a result, the Doppel is unable to completely separate herself from the magical girl's body and occasionally assumes a form where the owner and the Doppel are fused into one.

In Game Reads, The Doppel of admittance. Its form is a ticket puncher. The master of this Doppel dreams of the day she will begin her journey, following in the footsteps of all the friends she has parted from. The light from the lantern at the end of the Doppel's tail can call forth a myriad of illusions, and the scissors are said to cause great devastation in the near futures of those who have been harmed by them. As Magical Girls get older, their emotional range becomes smaller, and such is the case for this master, who cannot separate her body from her Doppel

(Yachiyo’s Main Story)

Like Iroha, Yachiyo In The Main The Story will be explained but these main stories will only talk about the main story of the Game and it’s comparison to the 2020 Anime. Magical Girls that are not in the main story will not have a Main Story explained But their Side Story instead.

In The Main Story Yachiyo is Cold and Untruested, She acts as the Homura of Magia Record, In the 2020 anime is meets Iroha & Kuroe after saving them from The SandCastle Witch Zenobia, She acts annoyed & cold and tells Them that there on West Magical Girl Territory, and should not be Haunting Witches There and to Leave after giving the Grief Seeds from the the Battle of The Two Witches the Second one being the Box wood witch who was killed by Zenobia.

They Apologize and The Left, In The 2017 Game, Yachiyo Encounters Iroha when she was talking with Momoko Togame about the Rumors, Momoko Then Got into an Argument with Yachiyo and this escalated when Yachiyo Try to Harm the Small Kyubey, 

It’s Unknown Why she did it, After the Argument is Settled, Yachiyo Leaves, she then comes into contact with Iroha again when Iroha Moves into the Boarding House, That Yachiyo Owns Passed Down To Her By her Grandmother who is now Deceased.

Yachiyo Goes to The College and is a 1st Year,  Iroha who moved in because her parents are overseas and she had to Transfer Schools, Yachiyo tells Iroha Strange Things have been happening in Kamihama and warns her to avoid them and other Magical Girls who would be unwanted with Iroha around there area.

But Iroha gets stuck in with Momoko & Rena after Kaede is taken by The Uwasa Of Ending Friendship Staircase, Yachiyo Comes in to Help, and they Successfully Rescue Kaede.
Yachiyo Then Reveals to Iroha that she had been Haunting Down the Uwasas as they are the Cause to the Strange Things happening, Iroha Then Joins Yachiyo on her Case to Haunt down the Other Uwsasa’s in Return Yachiyo Helps Iroha Find her lost Sister Ui Tamaki.

They Then Encounter Tsuruno Yui, Felicia Mitsuki & Sana Futaba, as they uncover the Rumors of Kamihama.

During the battle with the second Uwsasa, Seance Shrine, Iroha Unlocks her Doppel and kills the Uwasa to Tsruuno and Yachiyo Shock, They Encounter Mami Tomoe, Who Mistakes Iroha as a Witch in Human Form, In the 2017 Game, Mami Attacks but is then stop when Momoko Togame Intervenes. In the 2020 Anime, Yachiyo is able to stop Mami before any fights break out.

They Then Find that there is a Magical Girl Group Called The Wings of Maguis, Who are Protecting the Uwsasa’s, and also Witches.
Two of it’s main leaders are Iroha’s Sister Ui Friends who Claim to Not Know Ui, and Touka Satomi one of the leader’s says Ui is Just a Figment of Iroha’s Imagiaion.

During This Yachyio Comes to Get Iroha, Tsuruno, Sana and Felica, From The Memory Museum, Only to Discover, They Revealed the Truth about Magical Girls to them and that she was too late.
Yachiyo Memories show that she had two magical girl friends who were killed in Battle that being Mel Anna and Kande Yukino. Iroha comes to Yachiyo and Forgives her for going to the Memory Museum.

(Yachiyo Nanami Side Story)

Yachyio’s Side Story Begins a Year Before Iroha comes to Kamihama, Yachiyo is having Momoko, Kaede & Rena Over at her House, Yachiyo Leaves for a Sec, and Kaede amires how big Yachiyo’s is. Momoko Explains that it used to be a Boarding House a Reason to why it was Big.

It Turns out this was only the Second Time Kaede and Rena Met Yachiyo, Rena says the First Time was fighting a Witch By the Name of Shinnishi, Momoko says that was because they ran into her, Turns out momoko met Yachiyo Two Years ago, Right when she became a magical girl herself, She also says she sometime teams up with Her, Keade then is amazed how that Yachiyo has 6 years of Experience as a Magical Girl.

Momoko Tells Kaede not to bring it up, as “Yachiyo Believes it Sounds Old.”
Yachiyo Returns with Shacks, They say as Magical Girls They need to get along, Momoko Let’s Kaede and Rena Ask Yachiyo Questions about her, Sense she couldn’t think of one, Kaede asks what was Yachiyo’s favorite Food, Which Yahciyo says it’s Soba, The Questions The Girls Ask were Safe ones.

Afterwards Yachiyo Leaves to make tea, Rena helps herself by Eating the Rest of Yachiyo’s Donut she left behind, She Yachiyo comes back she Quickly Notice Her Donut was Gone and by the Crumbs on Rena Face Proves who was the Culprit.

Rena Apologizes for eating the Donut, and Yachiyo Forgives her, She Explain how she Knew Rena was The One who ate her Donut By the Sugar and Crumbs of the Donut on Rena’s Lips, Momoko Points out they ate all of The Donuts, Kaede and Momoko Says Yachiyo is Like a Detective, But Yachiyo says it would be a Insult to Holmes and Poirot for calling Yachiyo a Detective.

One it Gets Late, Momoko, Rena & Kaede get ready to leave, However Kaede Remembers they had to ask Yachiyo something, Momoko asks Yachiyo if there is still more time to tell her, Yachiyo lets them, and Momoko Explains if she knows how The “Dueling Girl” is, They Only Know about it from another Magical Girl, and is apparently another Magical Girl who randomly Challenges other Magical Girls Hence the Name “Dueling Girl”, Yachiyo Didn’t know but thanks them for bring it to her attention, Yachiyo Thinks she has to Protect Momoko, Kaede and Rena and wonders who the Dueling Girl is.

Several Days Later Momoko’s Group & Yachiyo Encounters The Dueling Girl who Introduces herself as Tsuruno Yui, Who wants to return honor to her family Name, She says she will defeat them all for Grand Ambition, When Rena asks her to Explain her “Grand Ambition”, Tsuruno says she will not waste a breath and Gets ready to attack, Yachiyo Explains she will not Fight without a Reason.
Then Tsuruno Admits That she wants to be Strongest Magical Girl, Rena Doesn’t Understand, and Yachyiyo agrees to be Tsuruno’s Opponent, As The battle Begins The Other Girls see how Strong Tsuruno is, But Tsuruno is Unable to Land a Hit on Yachiyo, However when Tsuruno sees her Opening, She attacks but Yachiyo…..Disappeared. Tsuruno Realizes it was fake, She hears the Real Yachiyo Behind her and says the one she attacked was a Dummy.

Yachiyo Uses Magic To Rap Up Tsuruno in rope, Tsuruno seeing her Defeat Asks Yachiyo To Finish Her Off, Momoko and Kaede Just Ask Her to End The Fight Then, But Yachiyo Consider Tsuruno’s Request, She Appears to Attack But is Actually Just Taking Off the Rope on Tsuruno.

Yachiyo Tells Tsuruno To Stop Dueling Other Magical Girls or Else she will get into some Real Trouble Later Someday, Yachiyo asks Tsuruno why she wants to be The Strongest, Tsuruno says it’s to get Honor, Yachiyo Asks Does it Mean to Hurt a Lot of People, Tsuruno Deines That and says she wants to become The “Strongest Magical Girl Who Pierces Evil.” Tsuruno Then asks for another Fight, Which Ended Up Being 6 More Fights Later, Each Time Yachiyo Won.

Yachiyo Stops Fighting she ask if Tsuruno had any Grief Seeds, Tsuruno said it was none of her Business, Yachiyo Says if She doesn’t that Tsuruno Can’t Fight Yachiyo anymore, She also says she can forgive Magical Girls Who Hurt Each Other. She says Tsuruno Doesn’t have the Strength, That Being a Magical Girl is Difficult, she also says that’s why she can be friends with her. This Makes Tsuruno Upset and She Runs off Crying.

Yachiyo Wonders If Tsuruno Understand, This also Makes Yachiyo admit she was a the end of her Rope as well, Several Days Later Momoko’s Team Runs into Tsuruno again, Kaede Ran to Get Yachiyo, While Rena & Momoko Dealt With Tsuruno, When Kaede Came Back with Yachiyo, Momoko was Knocked Out, Rena Claims Tsuruno Used Magic to Make the Place Dark and Knock Out Momoko, But Tsuruno says she can use Magic like that, Yachiyo Looks to Tsuruno and Aggres she can’t & and it wasn’t Tsuruno who did it,

Yachiyo attacks Tsuruno, Who has Turned into a Familiar, Yachiyo Claims That a Witch Set a Trap, and That the Real Tsuruno Yui is Captured By The Witch, Kaede, Rena and Yachiyo Defeat The Witch and Save Tsuruno.
Rena Claims Yachiyo is a Detective and how she figured it out, Yachiyo says if you concentrate on your enemy you can Roughly sense there Psychological State, Yachiyo Still says she is not a Detective and that using Supernatural abilities is Against the Rules of Mysteries, Tsuruno Starts saying she is completely lost, and Ask Yachiyo to be her Mentor.

One Momoko wakes Up, Rena Expliend what happen when she was Passed Out, Tsuruno has stop Dueling other Magical Girls, She did not become a apprentice to Yachiyo, But Became a “Friend” to Yachiyo & Momoko’s Team, It also explained that in the Future the bond between them would be shattered due to a future incident, But Back Then Yachiyo Believes That She would protect everyone not matter what.

Yachiyo also knows that witches also have tricks up their sleeves, and that she'll have to be careful from now on.

(Yachiyo’s Abilities)

As shown in the manga adaptation, Yachiyo uses water magic, and is capable of creating shields and spears out of water. She can use this magic even when not transformed. This is later confirmed in the anime, when her attack on the Friendship Staircase Uwasa in Episode 3 created a large wave of water.

For a time, Yachiyo believed her wish-given ability was to survive at the expense of others - thus, if she were to make friends or be the leader of a group, those people would die in ways that would allow her to survive, Eventually, she realized her true power was to "inherit hope", which made her exponentially stronger when others believed in her. Thanks to the hope of Kanae Yukino and Mel Anna, even after they died, she was made incredibly powerful and retained her immense strength even as she got older (as most magical girls tend to weaken as they become older).

Thanks to her experience and inherited hope, she was able to create hundreds, if not thousands, of her halberd at once. She can finely remotely control these to use them as floating steps, and can launch them at enemies as a large, spread out volley, or as a concentrated "beam" of halberds.

After realizing her true power, Yachiyo used her ability to inherit the hope of all of Kamihama's magical girls and control it to help defeat Walpurgisnacht. She used this in conjunction with magic harvested by Ui Tamaki, converted by Touka Satomi, and finally given to Iroha Tamaki. However, because she also relinquished the hope Kanae and Mel had placed in her, she could only use this power once, after which she would begin to weaken with age like Mifuyu did. Were she to use this power once more, it's possible it would accelerate her weakening.

(Yachiyo Nanami’s Name Meaning)

Yachiyo Last name Means “Seven” & “Ocean” respectively, Yachiyo in hiragana has no specific meaning, however if written with the kanji,  it means “thousands of years”.

Fact 1: Yachiyo Japan Voice Actor is Sora Amamiya, Who is Known for Voicing Aqua from Konosuba, Kasumi Yoshizawa From Persona 5 Royal & Akame from Akame Ga Kill,

As For her English Voice Actor, is Erika Harlacher Who Voices Ann Takamaki in Persona 5 & Royal & Scramble, is also Voices Juna Clawford in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III and VI

Fact 2: In the anime, her rope-and-bead headpiece is redesigned to instead have feathers or strips of fabric. Although her in-game sprite, live2D model, and card art are unchanged, this redesign is used in the transformation sequence of Iroha・Yachiyo (Final Battle ver.)
