01 | THE BEGINING OF THE JOURNEY
THE SUN SHINED brightly in a warm day of August. August 2nd to be precise. That evening, Estrella Velasquez Potter had given birth to a unique set of twins: Emily Frederica Nymphadora Potter and Albus Severus Potter. The baby girl had her mother's eyes, along with young Albus. Although, they both were born with the unmistakable hair of their father. As well as the magnet towards trouble and adventure that both of their parents - specially the father - seemed to have.
Harry Potter approached his wife with a smile on his face. Taking a seat next to her hospital bed, the man smiled at his children. "Harry, say hi to Emily Frederica Nymphadora Potter, and dear Albus Severus Potter." Estrella whispered, smiling down at her children. Their calm atmosphere was broken by a series of voices - mostly from two siblings who she had held dearly in her heart - were heard. The door swung open, revealing two sets of red hair.
The now alone twin was the one to first approach the bed. "Hi, little fellas." George Weasley said, smiling at the newly burned children. "You gave your mom hell, and you will not stop. Specially now that Uncle George is here to teach you guys some tricks." George said. Estrella laughed, handling the baby girl to George, whilst Harry told the baby boy in his arms.
"Say hi to Emily Frederica, your goddaughter." Estrealla told him. As soon as her words left her mouth, George's eyes watered for two main reasons: his new tittle, and the name that was chosen to remember his deceased brother. Emily looked at George with her small eyes, and George couldn't hide the smile that was growing in his face. The baby giggled, and smiled. Estrella laughed, taking her eyes of the red head to turn to his husband who had a tear under his eyes.
Two figures came running in, one jumping on Estrella's bed while the other stopped at the food of her bed. The woman groaned, earning a chuckle from Hermione and Ron. "Now, James. Be careful." Ron told his godson, who sighed and hugged his mother. The four year old hugged his mother while Teddy Lupin smiled at his godmother.
"How you feeling, Ella?" Teddy asked her, sitting on the foot of her bed.
"Tired...but happy." She said, smiling at the two of them. The woman then turned to Harry. "James, that's your little brother Albus." She said, and then she pointed at the small baby girl on George's arms. "And that is your new sister Emily. You must take care of them. They are younger than you." Estrella told him. James nodded at her. The brunette then turned to Teddy, whose hair had changed from excitement. "And you, young man, you will be responsible for anything that happens to them." Estrella joked.
The young adult frowned at his godmother. "I don't really have that much experience with babies." Teddy whispered.
"Well, now you will have. Specially, after I get back to work." Estrella told him.
"You are what?" Harry asked her.
"Going back to work when they are hold enough. The Jokeshop is not going to run by its own, and the Ministry needs to have her representative of Muggles and Wizardly World back in no time." Estrella explained. Harry sighed, nodding along.
Hermione walked up to George, looking down at the baby girl in his arms. "She is beautiful." Hermione said. George handed her the baby, and Hermione smiled like the Chesire cat. Ron smiled at her, still carrying his own child in his stroller.
"Oh, how is my beautiful girl doing?" Estrella asked, looking at the stroller.
"I think she is doing well. She can't stop crying in the nights. Harry, be really mate. Say goodbye to sleep." Ron told both Potter's. Estrella laughed, leaning on the bed. Her son James cuddled next to her.
"Mama, Albus is a bit tad small." James commented, causing Harry to chuckle loudly along with the rest of the guest. Albus, shocked by the loud laughs started to cry. Harry pulled him closer to him, talking quietly to him.
Estrella smiled at the sight, which soon widen when she saw a paper airplane enter the room. It laded in front of her. Estrella opened it, smiling at the neat cursive handwriting that belonged to an old friend. Estrella opened it, smiling at the small photo that was dropped in her lap. James took it, looking at it curiosity whilst his mother read the letter. Estrella smiled at the message.
Dear, Ella
Happy to hear that young Albus and Emily have been born. I got the message from Finnick. Thank you. I will visit later today when you have rested. I bet you must be tired. Astoria slept for what seemed twenty-four hours straight. Although, she says it was just four. Young Scorpius have cried all night, which frankly scares me. I don't really know if he is angry, sad, hungry or scare. Astoria says I worry too much, which I don't understand. You should come with your Emily and Albus one day, I will lose to see them.
Kind Regards, Your dear friend
Draco Malfoy.
Estrella laughed, closing the letter. Harry's face turned into a frown. "Why has Malfoy send you a letter?" Harry asked.
"It's Draco." Estrella corrected him. "I don't want James to start calling him Malfoy. He already knows it has Uncle Draco, and it will stay that way." Estrella told her husband quietly.
"Is this you, mama?" James asked her.
Estrella looked down at him, and then at the picture. The brunette nodded at him. "Yeah, that's me...and that's Uncle Draco. You have met Uncle Draco before, right?" Estrella asked, looking at Harry in particular.
"Yeah. He got me a broom like dad...but it can't fly as high as his. A-and, and, and he...he bought me a coloring book with superheroes on it once." James said, smiling at the memory. Estrella smirked at Harry while hugging her son.
. . .
"Come on, Emily is quite fun. You just have to run into the wall. You will not crash." James told his younger sister. Albus quietly stood behind him, watching Emily keep her eyes on the brick wall. "Look, I will ran with you. Does that sound okay?" James asked her. Emily shook her head.
"You go first." The brunette told him. James shrugged before running towards the wall. He disappeared behind it. Estrella looked at her eldest daughter, while still holding Lily's hand.
"Que te pasa, cariño? (what's wrong, dear)" Estrella asked her daughter.
Before the girl could answer, Albus had cut in. "Mama, Emily tiene miedo. (Mom, Emily is scared)" Albus told his mother.
Estrella nodded, motioning Lilly to jump into Estrella's car where she had her truck. "Why don't go in together? Is that okay?" Estrella asked her daughter. Emily nodded at her.
Estrella, put her hands, next to her daughter's, on the handle of the car. "One, two, three." She whispered, and they both ran into the wall. Behind them, Albus still stood in front of the brick wall.
"You didn't follow them?" Harry asked his son. Albus shook his head. "Scare?" Harry asked his youngest son. Albus shrugged. "Come on. We will do it, together. One, two, three." Harry said to him before running towards the brick wall.
Albus's eyes widen at the sight in front of him. A red train with black nose was standing in the platform nine and three quarters. Estrella smiled at the sight of it, memories of her childhood flashing back.
Albus walked closer to his mom, next to James. "Amazing, isn't it?" Estrella told him. Albus nodded. "I pack some chocolate frogs from you and Estrella. Don't get in to trouble, or anything dangerous." Estrella told her children.
James chuckled. "Uncle George said you and dad also got in to some kind of trouble every year." James commented.
"Well, it was not my fault that your father had a magnet for trouble. Even Uncle Ron had asked himself that back in our sixth year." Estrella pointed out, remembering the memory of her and the rest of the golden trio standing in front of Professor McGonagall after Katie Bell was cursed.
James leant towards Albus. "Time has ran out. You will be a Slytherin soon." James told Albus.
Albus sighed, looking back towards his father. "Dad, he keeps saying it." Albus said to his father.
"James, cut it off." Harry told his son.
"I was just saying, he might be an Slytherin." James debated, earning an scowl from his mother.
"Since when is Slytherin a bad thing. As far as I know, two of the bravest men I know have been in the Slytherin house." Estrella told her son.
Harry looked at her. "Two? We only knew one." Harry whispered to her.
Emily and Albus held back a laugh, watching their parent bicker. "We know two of them. One of them, you hated his guts...and still do for some reason." Estrella pointed out. Harry sighed, rolling his eyes. "Although, you must appreciate the white ferret I send him. It was a funny joke you must have to admit." Estrella pointed out.
James walked up to his mom. "Bye mom, take care." He said, kissing her cheek. A set of giggles were heard from behind him. James turned around to see some girls. He winked at them. "What can I say, I love my mom." He proudly stated, winking at the girls. Emily smirked, stepping over James' undone shoelaces with her foot while he walked. The result pleased Emily greatly, as her older brother now laid on the floor.
Albus reached out for his twin sister, smiled at her. "Thanks." He whispered to his twin. They both quietly high fived each other. Estrella rolled her eyes, watching her eldest son go after hugging his father and recovered from the floor.
"Smart move, my dear." Estrella whispered to her daughter.
"Thanks mom." Emily said brightly. "Look, that's Uncle Ron and Hermione. Come on, Albus." Emily told him.
"I will be there in a second. I first have to...talk to mom and dad." Albus told his sister. Emily nodded, and left to see Hermione and Ron.
"Promise you will write to me?" Albus asked his parents. Estrella nodded at him. "But once a month, because that's what James said." Albus said to his parents.
Estrella laughed, rolling her eyes. "You should stop listening to your brother. We wrote to him three times a week." Estrella said to him. Albus nodded at her. She knelt down, looking at her son with pride. "You are a smart, beautiful and amazing kid. You will be okay...Don't feel pressured by the Closing Hat. Enjoy the song his sings, and accept your house with pride. Yeah?" Estrella told her son. Albus nodded at her.
"Now, go off and get on that train before it leaves. Enjoy Hogwarts, because the memories there you will never forget." Estrella told him. Harry smiled at her. Albus nodded approaching Hermione and Ron, who had their daughter Rose close to them. Estrella laughed, looking at the younger version of Hermione.
Lilly ran towards her Uncle, who picked her up with ease. "If it isn't my favorite Potter." Ron told Lilly. Lilly giggled. The two of them shocked around as Emily laughed at Ron's joke.
Albus looked around, people staring at the legendary Golden Quartet. Even the ones who did not personally knew them, but have seen them around Hogwarts, will have recognized them idmitetly. The young latina brunette in love with the boy with glasses and a lighting scar, who lost her parents but found new ones with the Weasley's. The brightest witch of her age, who married a humble man who happened to have six other siblings. The red head with who married his best friend and now ran a joke shop with his older brother; and the famous boy with the scare who saved the Wizardly World.
"Mom, people are staring." Albus told her.
"I know, it seemed like they will never ever get tired of us." Estrella told her son. As she looked up, she caught a look of Draco Malfoy, taking to his son who looked as scared as Albus. Astoria looked up towards Estrella, who waved at her. The Blonde woman waved back, smiling at her. The whistle was heard, causing Estrella to look sadly at her two children.
"You better go now. You two Rose, you don't want to miss the train." Estrella told them. Rose smiled at her Aunt.
"Hello, Aunt Ella." Rose told her.
"Now, your aunt is right. You will loose the train. Now, go on." Hermione told her daughter. Rose hugged both of her parents.
"I will recommend you all sitting on the back of the train. There are plenty of empty seats there." Estrella told the children. Emily entered the train with Rose, whilst Albus knelt down to tie his shoelaces. Estrella looked at Harry. "He is scare. It's the tenth time he does it." Estrella told her husband.
"I will talk to him." Harry told his wife. Estrella nodded, turning around to see her daughter standing in the window in front of her.
"What happens if I end up in the Hufflepuff house? They seemed quite nice, and Teddy was on it as well." Emily said to her mom.
Estrella smiled up to her. "You will then be on the house where the heroic Nymphadora Tonks was. Teddy's mother, who I named you after." Estrella told her. Estrella said, laughing at the memory of Tonks changing her face to one of the duck to lighten the mood on the dinner table one Christmas when she was staying with the Weasley's.
"That doesn't seemed so bad." Emily told her.
"Your grandmother was Hufflepuff. I was about to be sorted into it, but I was put into Gryffindor." Estrella explained to her.
Emily nodded before blowing her mom a kiss. "Bye, Rose is waiting for me. Is Albus coming?" Emily asked her. Estrella nodded.
"Dad is just talking to him. Now, go on and rest." Estrella said to her. Emily nodded, before walking away. Estrella was about to step from the train when somebody else called her out.
"Hi, Aunt Ella!" An excited voice said. Estrella's smile widen at the sight of Scorpius.
"Hi, honey. Look how much you have grown! You resemble your dad so much. Specially with that platinum hair of yours." Estrella told him. "How was your summer?" Estrella asked him.
"It was unbelievable. We went to France and Spain. Oh, and I started to practice my spanish more." Scorpius told her. Estrella smiled at him.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be there for your birthday. This summer was quite chaotic. With everything that has been going on between the Ministry of Magic and the Muggle Ministry is a lot. Did you got my birthday present though?" Estrella asked him.
"Loved it. Although, that wasn't that happy about his. He said something about remembering a traumatic experience in his fourth year. My mom found it quite amusing though." Scorpius said to her. Estrella laughed, seeing Albus standing up from his place and towards the train.
"Well, now you just have to take a seat and wait for Hogwarts. It's a magical place after all. Now, go on. Take care." Estrella told him. Scorpius, hugged her from the window and left in an instant. Estrella walked away and towards her son. She kissed both of her cheeks. "It doesn't matter what house you end up in. What matters is who you are, and who you will be. I'm going to miss you." She told her son. Albus nodded at her, before leaving to the train.
Estrella sighed, looking sadly at the train which started to leave. Estrella sighed, letting tears fall down her face. Harry kissed the top of her head and pulled her closer to him. Lilly hugged her mother's side while looking at the red train.
Albus walked to the compartment where his twin set next to a blonde boy. Emily smiled at him. "I'm Emily. This is my cousin Rose." Emily told the boy with platinum hair. Albus took a seat next to his twin. "Oh, and this is my twin Albus." The brunette added.
"Hi, I'm Scorpius. Nice to meet you." Scorpius said. He looked down at the bag of sweets, and motioned it too the trio. "Would you like some of my Fizzing Whisbees?" Scorpius asked them.
"No, I just had breakfast." Rose said.
"I also got some Shot-o-Choc, Pepper Imps, and some Jelly Slugs. Mum's idea. She says: sweets always helps you make friends." Scorpius said, imitating his mom's words with her voice. Emily smiled, but Rose just stared. The young boy sighed, feeling slightly worried of his actions. "Stupid idea, probably." He said quickly.
"I might have to disagree with that. My mom says a similar thing. She really enjoys sweets. She is probably the reason why our aunt jokes about us sometime having cavities if don't brush of teeth properly. Our aunt's parents are were dentist. They are retired now." Emily said. "My mom packed some chocolate frogs. Will you like some?" The brunette asked him. Scorpius smiled, taking the chocolate frog from her.
"Which one do you recommend I shall start with?" Albus asked Scorpius. Rose hit him on the arm. The youngest Potter glared at her.
"Easy, I have always regarded the Pepper Imp as the king of the confectionery bag. They are peppermint sweets that make you smoke at the ears." Scorpius stated.
"That's brilliant." Emily commented.
"I suppose I will try that one yet." Albus said, but before he could reach for the sweet Rose had hit him again.
"Will you care to stop hitting me?" Albus said to Rose.
"I'm not hitting you." Rose lied, ignoring Scorpius eyes.
"You are hitting me." Albus told her.
Scorpius sighed, knowing why Rose was acting the way she was. Emily was oblivious to it, but still passed Scorpius some chocolate frogs while pulling out a book about magical beast - which was courtesy of her mother - and a book about herbology that Neville Longbottom, a family friend, had got her for her birthday.
"She is hitting you because of me." Scorpius said.
"What?" Albus asked, confused on his statement.
"Why? You are nice company." Emily said, looking at Scorpius with a bright smile.
"Listen, I know who you are...so I think it's probably fair who I am." Scorpius said.
"What do you mean?" Both twins asked.
"You are Albus Potter. She is Granger Weasley...and you are Emily Potter." He stated. Emily looked at him confused. "I am Scorpius Malfoy. My parents are Astoria and Draco Malfoy. Our parents didn't exactly got along." Scorpius explained. Emily's smile widen at the mention of Draco who happened to be Lilly's godfather despite her father's complain.
"I don't seem how that is a problem. My mom got along with you dad." Emily stated.
"That's putting it mildly. Your parents are Death Eaters!" Rose screeched. Emily shot her a deadly look.
"And? That is the past. Plus, his father does not defy who Scorpius is." Emily debated, sticking up for the boy.
"He must have been taught something." Rose cut in.
Scorpius looked at both of them. "My father was, but my wasn't." He stated. "I know what the rumor is, and it's a lie." Scorpius said, noticing Rose's look.
"What rumor?" Albus asked.
"The rumor that my parents could not have children. That my father and my grandfather were so desperate for a powerful heir, to prevent the end of the Malfoy line that...they...used a Time-Turne to send my mother back an-" Scorpius started, but was cut off by Emily.
"You don't have to tell us. My mother knows your father from work, and she trusts him. I don't see what all the fuzz is about." The brunette stated. This caused Scorpius to smile.
"To sent her back where?" Albus asked him, being too curious for his own good. A quality that was clearly gained from his father.
"The rumor is that he is Voldemort's son, Albus." Rose said bluntly, before looking down.
"Well, there is no proof at all. I don't see why rumors are starting. It was probably created by somebody who envy your family. You shouldn't listen to them." Emily stated, looking down at her book. She then looked up to glare at Rose. "Plus, you don't look like Voldemort at all. You have hair, quite unique one indeed." She told Scorpius.
Scorpius cheek turned a light shade of pink, shocked by Emily's words. "Emily is correct. You have a nose. Voldemort didn't." Rose said, before quickly standing up from her seat. "Albus, Emily, are you coming?" Rose asked the twins.
Both of them shared a brief look before shaking their heads. "I'm happy here." Albus stated. He turned to his sister. "What do you think Em?" He asked her.
"I'm quite comfortable right here, Al." She replied.
"Well, I'm leaving. I wouldn't be waiting for you two." Rose said to them.
"We are not expecting you to." Emily replied. Rose nodded before leaving the compartment. Emily turned to Scorpius. "Sorry about that." She commented.
"You have nothing to apologize for." Scorpius said to her. Emily smiled at him.
"Thank you." Scorpius said to the two of them.
"I di-didn't stayed for you. I stayed for your sweets." Albus stuttered. Although Emily knew that was not the main reason why he had stayed.
"She is quite scary." Scorpius said, taking a quick look at the door.
"She gets it from her mom." Emily commented. The three them laughed.
"Do you prefer Albus or Al?" Scorpius asked him.
"Albus." Albus answered.
"Thank you for staying for my sweets, Albus." Scorpius said, the smoke caused by the sweets coming off his ears. Both twins laughed, smiling at them. And that's how it began. The story of Hogwarts' new trio. A Hufflepuff and two Slytherins.
