"Watch where you're going," Edward yelled as he patted down his clothes, "I could have you demoted for that!"

Alexis started to panic and kept her head down, "terribly sorry sir," she refused to look directly at him, "I was just going to get some air and..."

"I didn't ask for an explanation," Edward interrupted her but then gave a sigh, "but since we're both going out," he extended an open hand, "care to join me?"

Alexis reluctantly took his hand and was led out onto a balcony. The fires from the attack haven't died out yet which have a orange glow to the city.

"A shame really," Alexis eyes widen at the science wielders commander's words, "a marvellous city now a reminder of the spoils of war," Edward sighs and leans against the railing, "I'm responsible for this and it was out of duty."

Alexis put a comforting hand on his back, "we all have to do things we don't want to," her words bounced in his head, "maybe one day we can all live the way it use to be."

Edward laughed at the thought, "when science and magic lived together, I didn't think anyone thought that way anymore," he shook his head, "but that time is but a dream now, a dream that will never come true," there was silence in the air before Edward gave a hefty yawn, "I think I'll turn in for the night, thank you for the company," he was about to leave but turned back, "I don't believe you've told me your name nor have you ever look up."

"Alexis," she simply said which made Edward raise an eyebrow, "First Officer Alexis Florina," she lowered her head even and seemed to tense up. She had realised she had given him her real name.

Edward fully turned and walked back to her. Not once has she lifted her head to him and he used his hand to guide her head to do so.

Alexis stared into his golden eyes and Edward stared into her emerald eyes. Neither one wanting to break their gazes.

Edward noticed this and cleared his throat, "well then," he noticed his hand was still on her face and removed it, "goodnight Alexis."

"Goodnight Commander," Alexis said without thinking.

Edward stared to walk away but turned back slightly to see her walking in the opposite direction, "call me Edward," he called out to her.
