Chapter 4

That evening, Commander Gold held a party in the main structure. The bodies were removed from the place and he stood on a hovering stage above the crowd of high ranked officers.

"What a victory master," Edward turned his head to see his apprentice. Damian Astro was a Sergeant ranked soldier under Edward's command. His raven black hair had a blue streak through it and he stood as straight as a nail. He is also one of the youngest soldier present.

"A fine victory," Edward turned completely around, "but I am no longer your master," they shake hands, "we are comrades in a never ending war," a drone comes by with drinks, "a drink to a step closer to a fictional end."

"Looking on the down side are we," Damian raised his glass to that and they both downed the drinks, "I almost forgot," he pressed a button on his wrist as a pair of metal wings extended, "I made Valkyrie," Valkyries are the elite group of soldiers who report to the council directly. They are also the only soldiers allowed to take on Angels the magic wielder's equivalent.

"Excellent," Edward walked back to the edge of the stage and looked down, "have you told her yet?"

Damian retracted the wings and looked down, "not yet," he spotted a female Sergeant with crimson hair, "I plan to after this and maybe settle down."

Edward nodded then patted Damian on the back, "I suggest Fission, close to the capital, quite," he turned and left the stage.

Below in the sea of soldiers, Alexis had disguised herself as a First Officer and was looking into the crowd. The female Sergeant had made her way to her, "Sergeant Selene Tesla," she saluted then gave a laugh.

"Alexis," she said quietly then looked away.

Selene rolled her eyes, "come on," she tried to drag Alexis but failed, "we did the impossible, it's time to party," she finally stopped trying after realising something, "you've lost someone did you," Alexis looked to her with suspicion, "we may have been able to restrict their magic yet we still came upon heavy losses."

Alexis looked down at her analysis, "my uncle was killed."

Selene put a comforting hand on her shoulder, "he's in a better place now," they stood there before someone called out for her, "I have to go."

Selene ran off and left Alexis to her own thoughts. Alexis started to wonder the corridors outside and was about to leave when she bumped into someone. A man with golden hair and an unpleased look.
