I looked down at the court trying to spot Logan. He said he'd be different, but they all look similar.
The boys lined up filing out not the court. Just then my phone buzzed. I pulled it out and saw I missed a call. I made my way out into the hallway and looked at the caller ID.
My phone started buzzing again as the same person tried to call me, I clicked the call button, "Hello?"
"Hi, this is your sister."
"Oh, hi Mia."
"Hey, how are you?"
"Good, good, you?"
"I have one slight problem."
"What's up?"
"I may have gotten into a fender bender and the tow truck doesn't have room to fit me, the other family is already inside."
"Are you alright?"
"Luckily, yes, but I need a ride." My sister finished and I hovered for a minute. I gave one longing glance to the gym doors and walked the other way, "I'm on my way."
Mia closed the car door and I started driving off. Besides a few directions from Mia, the car ride was quiet. "Elena, is there something wrong?"
"No, I'm just distracted I guess."
"What's up?"
"I was at a basketball game."
"Basketball?"
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"Someone I've been talking to was on the team."
"Ooo, who?"
"His name is Logan."
"Good name."
"Yeah, he said that he was very different from the rest."
"Oh, okay. How do you know him?"
"Funny story..."
"Spill."
"I was prank calling a local coffee shop and he answered."
"What the hell Elena! Why would you prank call!?"
"I don't know, I was bored."
"You were always a troublemaker."
"Yes sirre, troublemaker speaking!"

I had gotten used to the looks, I just focused one the game. Well, I was a little off. Every once in a while, I tried to steal a glance at the crowd, trying to spot Elena.
I caught the pass and dribbled down the court. I sprinted down the middle into the paint. I then leaped up into the air, it seemed the defenders were caught off guard. They were probably scared, I was a freak. I easily dished the ball into the hoop, landing on the ground to meet Conner's high five. We jogged down the court making small talk before splitting to meet our defenders.
I pressured the player in front of me. They weren't about to get past easily. They pressed on, dribbling hard and fast. Not fast enough though. I swiped my hand, contacting firmly with the ball. I secured the ball beneath my grasp and sprinted forward. I looked down the court, flashing a nod to Conner who raised a wanting hand in the air.
I lobbed the ball through the air. It sailed past the half court and three point line and landed in front of Conner who had just entered the paint. He grasped the ball and leaped into the air. Conner flicked the ball into the net with a flick of the wrist. The crowd roared. That's why I loved home games, they all knew me. They all knew my disability. Yet they still cheered, we were a unified team. Nothing could divide us.
