"dad-"
"if i get anymore calls from your goddamn school, i'll fucking pull out and make you do chores all your life!" jaesung yells, pushing his hair out of his face. lily keeps her eyes shut, shoulders hunched down for she's too scared to even move a muscle, especially when her father is boiling with anger.
it's nothing new, and pretty normal for a fact. lily keeps her head low, tears betraying her tough mentality, and curses are the only that flows in her mind for the moment. curses for her own self, hating that she cried again because of her father and his dirty mouth. there should be at least one day in lily's life when she wouldn't have to hear her dad screaming and cursing at her for being born. oh, but that's actually such a hazard.
"don't waste your breath on her, darling."
lily lets out a sigh, wiping her tears as she opens her eyes, only to regret the sight instantly. it's lara, a shameless woman, who has been stuck in lily's life and home like a leech. she's fake, inside out, has venom for voice and stone for a heart.
"you're right." jaesung takes a sip from the glass his girlfriend has to offer, and turns to face his daughter agai. "you, lily, will fuck off from my house by tomorrow morning. go live on the fucking streets or die of hunger, i don't give a fuck about you."
"dad, please don-" lily flinches as a stinging slap shuts her up, and it's not from her father. his hand is bigger and more firm, one slap from him is capable of breaking lily's jaw, however this one is different. it stings more.
"how many times do i tell you not to open your little mouth when your dad speaks?"
"sorry..." lily mumbles, bkinking her eyes at the floor, watching a drop of tear falling on the tip of her dirty shoe.
"y'know what, lily? maybe it's time we call your brothers. they can't run away from their responsibilities forever, can they?"
"they're not-"
another slap. "i said, quiet." this time lily lets out a whimper, as the pain on the side of her lip worsening, soon followed by a warm, thick liquid dripping down her chin. yet, she stays still, waiting for more stupid words to fall off the woman's mouth. "now, poor lily, i want you to go back straight to your room, call jimin and fucking weep to him or whatever, but get his ass here in two days. if he doesn't come to get you off our backs, me and your dad are going to give you off to someone we know."
jaesung lets out a chuckle, nodding his head, "how can i forget?" he turns to his daughter, gripping her jaw and smirks, "someone's willing to pay a hundred thousand dollars for your filthy ass, kid. unbelievable, right?"
fear latches onto lily, as she struggles to get out of his grip, tears spilling from her eyes and prayers past her bloody lip. "it's crazy that you resemble your mother so much," jaesung leans down to whisper, scoffing at the tears of his own blood. "her eyes, her mannerism, and of course her body. you're just a kid and they're ready to pay that huge sum for you, imagine how you'd make me rain money a few years later."
"she's isn't prettier than me!" lara huffs, clinging to jaesung's arm, making him chuckle as he lets go of the daughter and kisses his girlfriend.
"of course not. you're gorgeous. and this kid here is just trouble."
lily rubs her eyes, taking her queue to leave, for she doesn't want to witness anything that her father and lara do on the very couch a few feet away from her. they have no shame left anywhere in their bodies. t this point, lily knows it's just how they are, always high on crack and plenty of alcohol, lost in smoke. no wonder they can hurt others so easily. hurt a child so easily.
she runs upstairs to her room, crying loudly behind the closed door as she slides down to the floor, rubbing her off her cheeks and jaw, even her arms, anywhere that her father touched her even if it was just to hit her. that's just how dirty he is. weird and filthy. anything that comes out of his mouth is automatically the most hurtful thing lily can ever hear from anyone else.
moreover, recently lily has come to a grand conclusion that there's no one in the world who can hurt her half as much as her father already has.
minutes pass crying against the door, until lily's too tired to cry anymore, and lays down on the floor itself, blinking slowly with a thousand thoughts circulating in her head. the most prominent one being jimin's name. she never gathered enough courage to tell him what goes on here while he's happy with his life in the states. him and their two brothers.
they talk every other day, and lily likes to lsiten to them telling her how beautiful los angeles is, its beeches and gardens, and streets, and people. lily likes to hear it all, even though her own life here in her own land, her own home, is worse than hell. whenever the brothers ask her about her day, or how she's doing, the answers are full of lies and fake smiles.
even when they came to visit her, jaesung acted cool, and pretended like he loved his daughter and cared for her. why? because the brothers don't come empty handed. they're loaded with money.
that was the main reason jaesung kept lily with him, because he knew her brothers care for her and they wouldn't decline a single wish coming from their princess. and so, lily knows that her father has used her name more often than she remembers to ask her brothers for money, saying it was for lily's school fee, getting her a new bike or anything a kid her age could possibly like. but in reality, lily saw all that money go in vain, and the gifts meant for her were given off to lara or simply sold for more money.
lily's phone vibrates on her bed, making her sigh and blinks her tears away. sitting up, she rubs her eyes, reaching out for her phone, ending with a pout on seeing taehyung's name on the screen.
"if your brothers can't come and get you in two days, we'll give you off."
"someone's ready to pay a hundred thousand dollars for you."
she answers quickly, nibbling on her bloody lower lip, making her recoil at the ironish taste of her own blood spreading across her mouth. despite the ugly taste, she manages to suppress a sob for now, wondering how she'll be able to explain everything to her brother, when she never spoke about anything wrong that happens with her on a daily basis.
"hello? can you hear me, tiger?"
she blinks again, taking a deep breath as she hums, "ye-yes. hi, oppa..."
taehyung goes silent for a second, which lily doesn't mind for she needs time to keep herself together. "are you okay, kiddo? have you been crying?"
it's hard not to when he sounds so loving and caring, making lily give up on trying anymore and breaks into a sob, "oppa..."
taehyung sighs softly, "yes, princess? what's wrong, tell me?"
"please come an-and take me f'om here..." she cries, resting against the wooden frame of her bed, folding her knees up as she shakes in pain, in need of something to rely on, someone who'd treat her like a child she is. "don' wanna stay here. daddy's so bad..."
"hey, what happened? calm down first, okay? take a deep breath." he says softly, but lily doesn't listen, and keeps crying, for all dhe cares about right now is to not being sold off. girls who are sold are treated worse than what her father treats her like. she knows that much.
"oppa, please c'mere and take lily with you, please please?" she pleads, clutching the phone in her hands. "daddy and lara said that- that they will give lily away to someone 'cause they're givin' them money... please come home, oppa... i don' wanna be sold..."
"what?" the brother falls silent, "i... lily, what are you- who told you all that, baby?"
"lara and daddy," lily mumbles, touching her head that hurts too much now. "they said if you don't come to take me in two days they'll sell me-"
"okay, listen. first of all, stop saying that word." taehyung hisses, heaving out a deep breath, "we'll come and get you, alright? nobody will do anything bad. and if they do, you have our number."
lily hums, "oppa will fight them..."
"for his princess, he would." taehyung promises, "i want names, yeah? you don't have to be scared of anyone, just know that your oppas will make evrything right."
"okay," she nods, closing her eyes now, "i'm sleepy, oppa. please come soon, i miss you so much."
"i miss you more, sweetheart. wanna see me for a bit?"
lily thinks about it, wanting to say yes, but she wonders if taehyung will like to see her this way, scared, hurt and broken, bleeding and bruised. he probably wouldn't. "no." she hushes out.
"alright, that's obviously a yes." he hums.
"i's not." lily whines, hearing taehyung chuckle on the line. she doesn't say much and accepts his request for face time, although taehyung's smile just got wiped off entirely.
"uhm hi..." she waves at him, trying to wipe off the blood from her mouth, but it doesn't really help now that it has almost dried.
"we're comjmmg tomorrow, okay?" he says, "my child, tell that asshole that your oppas are gonna show him his place real soon."
"bad word. but okay." lily giggles lightly, even though laughing makes her stomach hurt. she winces in pain, sitting up straight when she suddenly feels a wave of nausea washing over her. being too tired and hurt, she couldn't manage to get up in time and ended up vomiting there itself, ruining her favourite pair of pants and her shoes alongside the floor.
"lily..." taehyung mumbles, lily doesn't catch him rubbing his eyes, but the truth is seeing her hurt this bad, ruins him too.
she's back to crying again, this time forgetting about the ongoing call for she has dropped the phone, it being the least of her concern at the moment. she stands up slowly, clutching her stomach over her t-shirt and heads to the bathroom, throwing up again, only this time she makes it safely to the toilet.
"oppa..." she's crying, sitting on the bathroom floor, too exhausted to move anymore.
her attention shifts back to the room at the sound of the door being opened. she moves back hastily, staring at her father, who notices the call and taehyung's voice calling out for his sister, so he picks the phone up and presses on the red button before advancing towards lily. "you're a disgusting kid." he scrunches his face at her, but crouches down and pats her head.
"i forgot to tell you something." he says, eyeing her secret phone. "don't think that just because i'm letting you go with those three dimwits, your life will get any better. you're still just a troublemaker, and soon they will realise it too. do you wanna guess what they'll be doing when they finally come across the fact that their baby lily is just a dumb mistake their mother made a few years ago?"
lily looks down, rubbing her eyes, knowing damn well that she's supposed to answer him. "gi'mme back to daddy..."
"correct." he smirks. "so, who ultimately is lily's family?"
"daddy..."
"very good. so, make sure you never open your mouth to them about anything that we do to you, understand?" lily's already terrified, having told taehyung half of the issue. "understand, don't you?!"
"ye-yes!" lily whimpers at the tug on her hair.
"perfect. so what are you gonna tell them when they ask why you look so ugly?"
"i... i fell."
"no. you won't lie, baby." jaesung rolls his eyes, "you got hurt because you're a bad person and fought your classmates. now tell me, how did you get hurt?"
lily coughs in pain, feeling her mouth being filled with blood. it makes her cry in horror and a lot pain, earning another slap from a father, "fucking filthy!" he shakes her, ignoring the cries of the child.
"i'm sorry..." lily gurgles out with a sob, blood and saliva dripping down her chin, "sorry daddy- i'm sorry... don' hurt me, please...!"
"shut up." and lily cups her mouth instantly, muffling down her voice, when suddenly her phone vibrates again. jaesung declines the call and stands up, dropping the phone in the toilet and flushes it down.
"nooo!" lily leaps forward, clutching the edge of the pot, staring at the clear water for it has already swallowed the cell phone. it's gone.
jaesung dusts off his hands, cracking his neck as he shoves them in the pockets of his pants, causally turning around and leaves lily by herself.
• • •
"is she still not answering?" jimin asks, putting on his shoes, while jungkook is already set to head out.
taehyung picks up a bag, shaking his head for he has already tried calling on their sister's number plenty of times, and even jaesung's number. neither of them answer. "guess we'll only find out evrything when we arrive there?" he sighs.
"i just hope lily's fine." jungkook mumbles.
taehyung supresses his next words, knowing that it will only bother jungkook abd jimin more if he told them that liky was actually not fine at all. if anything she was hurt, bleeding and bruised, and threw up in front of him. ever since he talked to lily, his mind hasn't been able to process anything else.
"let's go, i'm done." jimin says, moving past his brothers, pulling out his phone, calling up his manager. "is morris ready?"
"yes, sir."
"good. get all accomodations done for tomorrow in la., we might not be staying for any longer than a few hours."
"sure, sir. the jet is all set, too. we've conducted an technical and security check. it is ready to take off."
"very well." jimin hums before hanging up the call, as he glances at his brothers, "let's go. everything's been taken care of."
• • •
"are they really arriving today?" lara arches up her brows in surprise, earning a nod from jaesung. she scoffs in response, shaking her head and gets up from her seat, while jaesung is still busy having his breakfast. "i'll go and have a word with lily before her brothers show up."
"hm, get her wear some decent clothes today."
"of course, jae. don't worry." lara smiles at him, heading upstairs, her smile disappearing with step closer to the child's room.
she opens the door without a knock, finding lily on the bed, curled under the sheets, still in her school uniform, shoes thrown in front of the bed and a dirty cloth lying by the bathroom door. lara enters with her face scrunched, straight away going to the window and opens it for some air, for she needs to be in here for a while with lily.
"wake up." she voices out, pulling down the covers from lily's body, making the little girl roll away, searching for the warmth again. "i won't repeat anything, lily. just get up." she shakes her hand a bit aggressively, earning a whine from lily, but she says nothing to lara and opens her eyes, already filled with tears out of frustration.
"your brothers are arriving in a few hours. your dad wants you to wash up and dress like a decent person. you don't wanna meet your brothers in this state, do you?" lily sits up, rubbing her eyes and shakes her head, for she too, wants to look nice when she meets her oppas. lara smiles at that, although her smile is far from anything innocent, as she opens her mouth, "right. because nobody would touch someone as dirty as you. not even your lovely, caring brothers. if you look this filthy, they won't take you with them. afterall, everyone likes to see little girls like you all cute and dolled up."
lily frowns at that, but ends up nodding. lara isn't wrong, everyone likes to see girls pretty and looking a doll. nobody likes ugly, stinking girls. so, she slips down from the bed, glances at lara, who also follows her to the bathroom.
"i'll help you wash up and get dressed. if your brothers don't show up by afternoon, we're taking you to the dealer who's interested in buying you. we can't mess that up."
"no..." lily whimpers, tears returning in her eyes, shaking her head slowly. "please don't give me to them... i- i'll listen to you and daddy, i promise... i won't fight with anyone in school, and i won't ask for anything, i promise... ple-please don't give me away..."
"yeah, i know all that." lara rolls her eyes and drags liky to the bathroom, pushing her inside. "take a shower, wash your hair and body nicely. and when you're done, you'll tell me okay?"
"but-"
"just shut up and do as i say, lily. don't make me slap you for every-fucking-thing!"
lily flinches at the raised voice, nodding her quietly and goes inside, to wash up like she's told. she stands under the shower, crying silently, tears mixing with the water that runs down her face. everything hurts, and lily would much rather stay in bed, than shivering under cold water like this, when her whole body felt like too hot to be considered normal. the headache only worsens this way, so before she might feel more sick, she quickly shampoos her hair and washes the rest of her body, then finally steps out, finding a towel already waiting for her. she wraps it quickly around herself, letting out a sneeze and rubs her nose, heading out to see lara.
the woman is sitting on the bed with a tube of some kind of ointment, bandages, cottons and plenty of small bandaids. lily stands in front of her, wiping off the water from her body, and puts on her undergarments, so that lara could then help her out with her wounds. for the first time ever. she never even cares if lily dies bleeding on normal days. nor does jaesung.
"what are you gonna tell them when they ask about your wounds?"
lily gulps, looking down, "i fought with my classmate because... i- i'm bad."
lara chuckles at that, nodding slowly, "and what did you tell taehyung yesterday?"
"nothing..." lily mumbles, however lara swiftly grabs her face in a harsh grip, glaring at her, making the girl cshut her eyes in fear.
"do not lie to me."
"i said nothin' i promis-"
"do you know what happens to the kids and their loved ones when they make false promises or lie?" lara arches up a brow, giving the kid enough freedom to dhake her head in response. "they die. especially their loved ones. who do you love the most, lily?"
"my oppas..." she sniffles.
"yes. do you want them to die because your dumb ass couldn't speak the truth?"
"no..."
"then tell me. what did you tell taehyung on the call last night?"
"that... that he should come and take lily back with him." she hushes out, "daddy is going to give me to someone else..." it earns her a slap.
"fucking idiot." lara scoffs, "you think they'll believe shit like that from a kid? from you?! ymit might look like that they really love you, lily, but just think about it, when your own father doesn't love you, why would anyone else? even your mother died and left you, didn't she?"
lily hates this. whenever this woman starts sauing things like these about her oppas and mother. it makes her want to throw a fit and protest, cry on the floor until lara believes her that she's loved.
"don't have too many expectations from your brothers. they're young and they have way better lives than you. if they come to realise that you're just a sick, troublesome kid holding them back, they're gonna give you up in a blink of an eye." she says causally, applying the ointment on lily's hand and wraps a bandage around it. "so, what you should do when you're with them, if they can even make it, is you stay in your fucking limits. don't act too clingy, don't talk a lot, especially about me and your dad. because believe it or not, we'll get to know when you open your mouth and after that you know how things are going to end for you.
"so, be on your best behaviour. whatever questions your brothers ask, have an excuse ready in your head. spill out anything about us, and we'll tell your brothers that everything is in fact your fault in the very first place. and they'll believe it, lily. they're not kids like you. they're mature, grown ups, who know and understand the truth much better than you."
lily gulps at that, nodding her head gradually, "are you... are you and daddy friends with my oppa?" she dares to ask.
lara sees the opportunity to lie, and smirks, "of course, we are. and so, they'll also trust us more than you, get it?"
lily looks down, sniffling softly for she feels too bad on learning this. how can her oppas be friends with someone so bad? they're nice and caring, whereas lily's dad and lara are the worst kind of people to ever exist. how can these polar opposites be friends?
"will they hit me too?"
"oh lily," lara muffles her laughter, pulling the girl in a hug, "poor kid. you thought you were escaping this hell?"
lily tilts her head, not understanding the meaning behind lara's words, so she settles for it and explains, "they might hit you of you piss them off. have you ever seen any of your brothers in anger?" lily shakes her head, getting afraid little by little as lara's words make home in her head. "then don't mess with them or say anything that might make them mad. they're worse than your dad when angry."
lily's eyes widen in fear. worse than dad?! what are they? monsters?!
"but- but oppa talks so nicely to me..." she breaks into a sob, "you're lying, my opaps are good..."
"fine then. be a brat and see for yourself." lara shrugs, earning a look from lily. "yeah, really. i've seen jimin mad, that's why i'm warning you. if he kicks you out of his house then you won't have anywhere else to go to."
with all that said, lara gets up from the couch, sending a last bitter smile to lily before taking her leave. lily rubs her eyes, putting on her clothes that lara placed on the bed for her. that woman has successfully made lily doubt her own brothers, making it hard for her to trust them entirely. what if she accidentally does something that pisses jimin off? or what if she says something that jungkook or taehyung don't like? they know jaesung and will probably tell them about lily's actions.
she spends the next few hours sitting on her bed, feeling too tired to do anything else, which is why she doesn't even go downstairs for breakfast. it's only when lara comes up again, telling her that her brothers are here, that lily gets off the bed. heaving an already exhausted sigh, she follows the woman, keeping her eyes low until she reaches the last step and hears jungkook's voice.
"lily..." it's said softly, making her look up at him, returning his smile with a a tiny one. "c'mere, gimme a hug." he gets down on one knee, stretching his arms out for lily.
so, glances up at lara, who smiles at her sweetly, patting her back in an encouraging manner. "go meet your brothers. they're here to take you with them, aren't they?"
"yes." lily mumbles, stepping near jungkook and gives him a hug. a tight and warm one. lily closes her eyes, for it doesn't feel anything like what lara or her daddy ever hugs her like. jungkook's hug is different, warm and comfortable like always. "koo, i missed you."
"i missed you more." he whispers and kisses shoulder.
"hey, how are you doing?" taehyung kneels down as well, smiking fondly as he pats the kid's head, when she pulls away from jungkook.
"okay." she hums for him with a smile, giving him a hug as well, then turns to face jimin, who just bends down and hoists her up with a wide smile and moist eyes.
"my child, you've gotten skinnier. aren't you eating properly?" he points out, kissing her forehead.
lily says nothing, for she's too busy staring at jimin's face, not understanding how this angel for a person would ever be so angry that he could lily kick out of his house. how can he ever be worse than jaesung?
"-and have you packed your things?"
lily blinks in surprise, glancing at taehyung with a confused face, and he smiles assuringly, "let's go to your room. we can help you pack up and then we'll be leaving soon, alright?"
"oh... mm'hm." lily nods, checking on her daddy once, before letting jimin carry her up to her room, followed by the other two brothers.
lara and jaesung fortunately don't linger behind, and lily sighs softly, closing her eyes for a moment as soon as they enter her room and jungkook closes the door.
"why does it smell like this in here?" he scrunches his face a little, looking ariund the room, filled with a musky scent of wood and as if it's closed almost all the time.
"window..." lily says, slipping off jimin's hands soon as he puts her down and opens it for jungkook. "sorry, koo it's stinky."
"ah, no. it's fine." he shakes his head, "forget that, tell us what happened? were you sick yesterday? and what did dad tell you?"
"why weren't you answering our calls after hanging up like that all of a sudden?" taehyung frowns in confusion.
lily gulps, fiddling with the fancy strings of her top, keeping her eyes low as she decides to speak, "uhm, i'm sorry... i was so sick and so i got scared. daddy was a little mad because my teacher complained to him about me. i thought he would be give me away... that's why i told you that. he- daddy won't give me away..."
the brothers exchange unsure glances, nodding gradually at lily's words, "are you sure that's what happened, tiger?" taehyung asks, "you know you can talk to us right?"
lily nods at that, avoiding their eyes and points up at the sabinet above her closet, "there's a suitcase up there. get it down please, oppa?"
"uh, of course." he sighs, nudging jungkook to get it down, while jimin stays with him, both eyeing the bruise on her face and the brutal cut on the side of her lower lip.
"how did you get hurt, princess?" jimin asks, caressing her tender skin with a gentle touch of his fingers, not wanting to hurt her more.
"i fought with a boy in school." lily pouts.
"is that why your teacher complained to jae- to your dad?"
"yeah. that's why she scolded me." lily shrugs her shoulders.
"why did you fight?"
"because... because- uhm," lily looks down, rubbing her eye, "he was making fun of me."
"he said something bad to you?" jimin rubs her back, "you can talk about it to us, baby. we're here to help you, okay?"
"i know that." she huffs and moves past them, taking the suitcase from jungkook and crouches down as she opens it by herself. then she stands up again, going to look for some clothes in her closet, throwing a few uppers, bottoms, and her undergarments. she walks upto her study desk, picking up her favourite books, a diary, and her pencil case, putting it on top of all the clothes, and gives a firm nod.
"i'm ready."
"that's good. i'll go have a word with dad." jungkook says.
lily stares at him with a montonous gaze, releasing a soft sigh when jimin holds her hand, making her wince and glance down instantly at her hand. the brothers, who had earlier lost it to asking about the bandages wrapped around her knuckles and wrist, now bring it to question. lily doesn't fancy it a lot, shaking her head and pulls her hands back, believing that they'll just ignore her like her dad and lara do.
"what's wrong, princess? why are hiding from oppa, kiddo?" jimin asks, worry dripping from his homey voice, hand caressing the side of lily's face as he leans closer to her and presses his lips on her cheek, closing his eyes for a moment. "it hurts oppa seeing his little girl hurt and keeping secrets from him." he whispers to her.
lily sniffles at that, lifting her arms up and wraps them around jimin's neck, silent tears escaping her eyes as she closes them, hidimg her face in jimin's neck. "le's go from here..." she mumbles.
"of course, darling. that's what we're here for." jimin rubs her back. "to take our baby girl back with us."
lily hums, pulling away and rubs her eyes, volunteerily holding jimin's hand, while taehyung picks up her suitcase as they head out of the room.
meanwhile jungkook sits on the couch, accepting the glass of juice from his father's girlfriend, who's not that older than him and his brothers, which makes it utterly disgusting for him. one, because he knows she's not in this house for his father. two, because she hasn't ever tried to hide her obvious interest in him and his hyungs. three, she's plastic all over, inside and out.
"aren't you staying, jungkookie?" she sits next to him, while jaesung doesn't bother himself with the boy, watching some weird suspense thriller show on the tv with a drink in his hand.
"this is the longest i'll be ever staying here, lara." jungkook sighs, making her chuckle.
"ae, don't talk like that. you know how we miss you, darling. your dad. me." she touches his shoulder, flashing him a sweet smile. "and well, now that lily's going with you guys. y'all won't even have an excuse to visit us."
"thank heavens for that." he nods nonchalantly. "and please stop touching me, woman. you're too old and not my type."
"what..." her smile cracks, glaring at the brat as she takes her hands off him, and sits straight, flipping her hair back. "aren't you too full of yourself?"
"i am." jungkook looks at her. "you should be grateful that i am, that i don't actually think about you. for you'd be long gone of i bothered myself with you, especially now that i know that you and my dimwit father had the nerve to hurt lily."
"oh, so it's about that?" she ends up chuckling a little, nodding her head slowly as she understands. "right, so she told you?"
"she doesn't have to. we got eyes and a brain, that you and jaesung clearly lack." jungkook states, "d'you know how long you'll be in if we press charges on you?"
"you won't do that."
"oh, poor lara, yes we mostly definitely will." he chuckles back. "how about saying goodbye to this weird ass house and move to an even better place?"
"where? what are you saying?" she frowns.
"jail." jungkook smirks, patting her shoulder this time as he stands up, spilling the juice on her and throws the glass at his father's feet. "run or hide, whatever you like. or y'know just make it easy for yourselves and die, because as long as you're breathing anywhere on this fucking planet, we'll track you down. the police and all will get their hands on later, it will be me who deals with your filthy asses first for hurting my sister all because she's too young to stand up for herself."
"but-"
jaesung's hand on his shoulder, makes jungkook turn around with an annoyed expression, although he reads the situation quickly and dodges his father's hit. he grits his teeth, throwing a swift punch on jaesung's face, hitting continuously thanks to the obvious advantage he has over his father who's already in his late forties, drunk, and with zero fighting knowledge.
"you think you can pull this shit on me?" jungkook growls, almost smashing the man's head on the wall, "look, you might be my father, but don't think i consider you anywhere near worthy of that respect."
"you and your sister are just the same!" jaesung lets out from his bloody mouth, glaring at his son. "fucking useless! she was a filthy mistake and you were a burden on us! i fucked your mother because she was running her mouth more than she should have, and that's how you, my son, were born. your brothers might be result of love and shit, but you and that little brat are made of nothing hatred an-"
he groans in pain, passing out on the floor as jungkook kicks his stomach with force, cracking his neck, "douche." he spits out, "always talking out of his ass."
"j-jungkook..." lara mumbles, covering her mouth as she stares at him and then at jaesung who's lying unconscious, blood dripping from his nose and mouth on the white tile.
"move." he states, and lara hurries out of his way. "don't even think you can get away after what you've done to my lily." he says one last time before heading outside the house to the car waiting for them.
the rest of the siblings join him pretty soon, bombing him with questions for they probably saw jaesung lyinh on the floor with a bloody face. jungkook can't help but sigh, shrugging his shoulders, "he said some stupid things, okay? he deserved it."
"i'm sure he did, kook." taehyung heaves out, massaging his temples. "regardless, you didn't have to beat him up."
"i had to. i know it." the younger states the obvious, and glances at lily, smiking at her. "he wouldn't dare hurt you ever again, okay?"
lily stares at him, tears welling her eyes as she nods, stepping inside the car and quickly throws herself onto jungkook, breaking into a sob, "he was so bad, koo..."
"i know," jungkook sighs, "i'm sorry i didn't come sooner."
"you did." lily sniffles, "i was too scared to say anything... i wish- i wish i was stronger. maybe he wouldn't hurt me then."
"he was a bast- a bad person..." jungkook clears his throat, "and people like him don't care about other anyone else other than themselves. so, it doesn't matter if it were you or someone stronger. besides, you're just a kid, lily, you couldn't be stronger than you've been all this while. i'm so proud of you."
"really?" lily blinks at him.
"really." he nods with a smile and pulls her on his lap, "you're the bravest little girl i know."
lily ends up smiling at that, glancing back at taehyung and jimin, who smike as well, nodding to let her know that they agree with jungkook. "thanks, koo, and tae oppa, and jiminie oppa." she stretches her arm out for all three of them, making it a group hug with a bunch of kisses being showered on her, especially from taehyung. "i love you so much, oppa. all three of you. thank you so much for helping lily."
"well, we don't take thanks like that." taehyung whispers and lily erupts into giggles, kissing his cheek and he hums , pretending to think. so lily kisses him again, more aggressively this time, which makes the brothers laugh and taehyung wraps his arms around her. "fine, that'll do for now." he grins.
"alright, let's sit properly now?" jimin chuckles.
lily nods, getting on the seat next to him, while taehyung goes to sit in the front next to driver, and jungkook is already at the back. "stop by a clinic nearby." jimin instructs the driver, earning a surprised glance from lily as she realises that he hasn't been fooled and probably noticed her burning body despite her fake smiles and attempts to keep her cries to herself.
she shifts near jimin, moving his arm a little to find herself a good spot cuddled to his side, his arm draped around her. "i love you to the-"
"stars and beyond." lily completes his sentence proudly, "me too, oppa. i love you that much too."
jimin chuckles at the cute comfession, ruffling her hair and leans down to kiss the top of her head, "what do you want for lunch?" he asks.
"uhm whatever you want." she shrugs, "but i think i want ice cream after."
"done." he hums, "and?"
lily's eyes travel out the window, spotting a guy selling helium baloons of different shapes, making her smile and point at the guy, sitting up quickly for he's left behind by them. "we'll get you balloons on our way back. anything else?"
"i think we should stop that store too." jungkook says, pointing outside to a huge toy store, seemingly having all kinds of toys and games of all fandoms and non fandoms.
"that looks so cool." lily hums, "can we go there, oppa?"
"of course. whatever my kids like."
"kid, please." jungkook mutters, cheeks burning with embarrassment that makes taehyung laugh loudly, and jimin just chuckles, shrugging his shoulders.
