Maintenance
JARVIS required a lot of upkeep. It wasn't that it was an old building or anything, but the women that attended the shows sometimes got a little crazy, especially the later it got in the night. Lilly waited out front for the maintenance van. When it arrived, Lilly was surprised to see a woman step out of the vehicle in place of the usual guy.
"Hi, I'm Rae. Are you Lilly?" the woman asked, approaching her.
"I-I am," she confirmed.
"Manny threw his back out on a job last week so he sent me in his place," Rae explained, answering Lilly's unasked question.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope he gets better soon. In the meantime, I'll show you around." Lilly unlocked the door and showed Rae the things that needed repairing, which thankfully this time wasn't too many. She looked around and went out to the van to get her tools.
"So Manny was telling me he gets a couple callouts a month to this place," she said, heading to the stage to fix a very noticeable crack.
"Ah, I know. Some of those women get nuts, and it's always the quiet mousy ones. I swear, they stand by the door, almost scared to come in and the second the guys are on stage, they're up the front like 'Show us your dick!' It's frightening really," Lilly laughed.
"It gets that bad, huh?" Rae smirked.
"Absolutely. Poor Nick and Brock really have their work cut out for them. Some nights I look at the mess left behind and think 'Is it really worth it?' but then I look at the guys and think 'Yes, yes it is'. You should come for the show tonight," Lilly offered. Rae stood up and went to another part of the club.
"I'll see if I can make it. Although, after that horror story you told me I might be a little intimidated," she joked. Lilly waved it off.
"Nah, don't be. Tell you what, come here around ten-thirty and I'll introduce you to the guys." Rae smiled and agreed.
...
Later that night, Rae came by and Lilly introduced her to the crew that had arrived. This time, even Laia had tagged along. Lilly had noticed that ever since Vegas she'd been spending more time at JARVIS. She also noticed that Clint had been showing up with small bruises on his body. They were subtle but there nonetheless. Lilly introduced Laia to Rae.
"So what do you do Laia?" Rae asked.
"She does Clint," Lilly mumbled from behind her hand.
"What was that Lil?"
"Hm? What'd you say Meg? I'll be right over." Lilly scurried away with a cheeky grin on her face. Laia knew damn well that Meg didn't say a thing. As Lilly got closer to her, she noticed Meg had a dreamy expression on her face.
"What's with the look?" she questioned.
"Pietro and I kissed," Meg smiled.
"Oh my gosh, really? How was it?"
"You know how Pietro sometimes rolls his tongue when he talks? That's kind what he did in my mouth." Before Lilly could respond, Pietro walked up to them with a smirk on his face.
"What were you girls talking about?"
"Nothing that concerns you Maximoff. Now go get ready," Lilly said shooing both Meg and Pietro away. As Lilly was going through her checklist, Rae came up to her.
"Who's that?" she asked, pointing over to Sam. Lilly smirked and raised her eyebrow.
"That's Sam. He's single; just in case you wanted to know. I should warn you though, Sam's a notorious flirt." Rae thanked her and went over to talk to him. Lilly was feeling pretty smug with herself when she went to open the show.
...
After the show, Lilly went to talk with Rae.
"So... what did you think of Sam's performance?" she asked.
"You were right about what you said about it being an art-form," Rae admitted.
"Shh, don't tell him that. Wouldn't want to inflate his ego," Lilly winked.
"I think after seeing that, I'll have to ask Manny if I can come here on a more permanent basis."
"Don't worry about that, I'm sure there are plenty of thing that need fixing over here. Even if Sam has to break them himself just so he can see you." Rae smiled at her and went to talk to Sam before he left. Yes, this club certainly needed maintaining. Lilly was dreading how the bathroom was going to look at the night.
